Chapter 11.

I wake up to Preston pressed against me in the small hospital bed, I giggle and snuggle in to him softly as my eyes dart open and I feel my power course through my veins giving me energy. He groans loudly moving along to my touch while my body comes to life and I rub and press my fingers in to his skin in slow motions.
“Your hands are hot.” He groans in. Sleepy voice making me smile.
“My magic’s restored, I want to go to my caves.” I say softly while he picks his head up.

“The sun just rose we’re not leaving bed yet.” With that he pulls me tightly to him as my skin lights in to sparks against his.
“We need to go see Alison soon, she got out late last night. Evan popped in but you were already asleep.” I say softly as he groans again stretching his toes out. We lay together enjoying our time for a little while before finally getting up to get dressed and start our day.

A nurse stops me just as we’re leaving trying to get me back in bed, I brush her off and keep going hearing Preston laugh following closely behind me until we reach the Alpha wing. I knock softly before pushing the door open and going in leaving Preston outside, the room is still dark and I hear Alison’s soft voice.
“Well it’s about time you showed up.” She giggles and I move to her bed to join her seeing two little bundles in a small bassinet beside her.
“Well I was a little busy.”I say with a side glance as she pulls me in to a hug.

“Thank you, for everything Valerie I have no idea how I could ever repay you.” She states as her eyes go to the small babies sleeping soundly beside us.
“I do what needs to be done.” I say shrugging my shoulders. I explain what I’ve noticed about Sloan and what happened after the babies were taken, I tell her about my vision and Sloans relation to her. She sits quietly listening to me completely stunned as I explain everything.

“Well I guess both our family’s are vengeful.” She says coldly as her head drops.
“So she only came to the pack to get close to me and Evan to take our babies.” She speaks again her voice softer this time, I nod and she sighs in return.
“I really liked her, I didn’t think she would try to kill me.” She claims and you can hear the sorrow in her voice.

“Alison I’m here, you’re the only sister I’ve ever had and I’m yours. Her goal was to get the babies and I’m not going to let that happen.” I say with a small smile, she returns it before laying back in her bed.
“Evan has the scouts out looking for her, that’s all I know though. He left this morning to help them and call in another pack for trackers.” She tells me as I nod looking over to the small baby that is starting to stir.

“I call a nurse in to get us breakfast as I hand one of the babies to Alison, she cradles the small being softly as she hums away soothing the baby.
“Do you have names for them yet?” I ask happily as I watch her gently rock back and forth.
“Not yet, Evan and I haven’t been able to agree.” She says laughing softly. I spend most of the morning joking and talking with Alison while I help her with the babies, Emily will be staying in the Alpha house for the next few weeks to ensure Alison isn’t pushing herself. She had major surgery and being human she will need more time to heal.

Preston and I will also be staying in the Alpha house to make sure Sloan doesn’t come back, under no circumstances will Alison be left alone with the babies unguarded until we catch her, by mid afternoon I dismiss myself to head off to my caves.

I run through the forest taking the long way to the cliffs enjoying the fresh air hit my face, it fills my lungs making me feel alive as Anna howls loudly in pleasure. I gently trot up the dirt path to my caves hearing the leaves rustle behind me catching my attention, I stop, crouching to the ground with my ears back as I listen closely trying to hear for any movement. Rustling again, my eyes snap up to the trees to see two little birds fluttering about, I stand watching them for a few moments quietly before turning to go through the opening to my safe place.

I launch my body through the air and in to the water as I land with a splash, letting Anna take over I slip back in to my mind to relax and watch, she splashes away in the shallow end like and excited little puppy hyper and happy to play in the water. Submerging herself in the water she comes up blowing the water out as she paddles to the steady stream of water pouring in to the sky allowing it to wash over her fully.

She resides back giving me control as I shift quickly in the water letting my magic flow from my hands while I wade in deeper, I exhale slowly letting the bubbles out around me as I concentrate on my lungs. I picture water flowing in to them the same way gills would. Within seconds I’m effortlessly breathing under the water, I open my eyes allowing my body to relax while I look around at the underwater utopia.

The beautiful water glistens in the light as it shines through lighting up small patches bellow me, I push my feet forcing myself deeper in to the shallow pool as I near the bottom. Placing myself on the sand I picture magnets in my feet holding me down to the ground as the water flows around me, I take a few steps looking at everything on the sand. I see a few seashells sparkle against the light while I move closer, picking them up I notice an under water cave off to the side, it looks deep and dark and I want to know where it leads.

I push off swimming to the small hole when I hear my name get called startling me, I turn swimming back to the surface as I splash through the top taking air in instead of water, I cough spitting out whats left in my lungs.
“Jesus how long have you been down there? I’ve been calling you for a few minutes now.” Preston says as he runs in to the water grabbing on to me, he pulls me to shore as I start giggling happily and his face turns in confusion.

“What? Whats so funny?” He asks as we sit on the shore both soaking wet.
“I can breath under water, I was able to use my magic underwater to keep breathing.” I say excitedly as his eyes go wide.
“What do you mean?” He asks still obviously confused.
“Come I’ll show you.” I say taking his hand to pull him back in to the water.
“What are you doing Valerie? We’re wolves not mermaids!” Preston shrieks as I drag us through the water.

“I’m a witch actually, and it’s ok.” I say taking both his hands, the water now up passed our waist.
“Picture my magic flowing from me in to you, picture the water filling your lungs just like air and relax.” I say as I let my body sink underwater, I hold my thoughts and I bring us both in to the aquatic state, I watch him hold his breath scared to breath.
“Relax and focus.” I say through mind link as I see him try to focus closing his eyes as I breath easily and watch.

He finally takes a deep breath taking in the water as his eyes go wide in amazement and I giggle, pulling him by his hand I head back over to the underwater cave.
“What is this?” He asks through mind link while I pull my body through the tight stone hole.
“I’m not sure, you called me up before I had a chance to look.” I answer as I watch preston pull himself through next.

I take his hand turning around to see a bright beautiful area, it’s filled with bright green yellow and orange seaweed and coral.
“Wow.” Preston says softly as we both stand in awe of the beautiful scene.
“More then wow.” I answer. Small fish swim around in schools as jelly fish all sit softly above us floating peacefully in the water. We swim around slowly as we continue looking around, the sand is white and crisp and the water is as clear as can be.

The water seems warmer on this side of the cave and it seems to be in the open, there is a lot of light making the water glimmer reflecting it. Sea shells line the ground while the sea weed dances on either side of us.
“What is this place?” Preston asks as he goes to touch a large red squishy plant.
“Don’t touch anything, we don’t know whats down here.” I say making him pull his hand back quickly.

I hear laughter and talking as I stop dead in my tracks, noise? Who could be making noise all the way down here. I look over to Preston before taking off to swim around the large coral wall in front of us, on the other side of the wall I spot two girls kneeling on the sand giggling with one another as they dig away. Swimming closer I notice the girls both have huge gorgeous tails that sparkle with the movement of the water.

“Oh my goddess their mermaids!” I say through mind link to Preston as I turn to see him with his stunned expression turning white. I swim closer to watch them not trying to hide at all, they continue digging in the sand as if they’re looking for something. I swim closer placing my feet on the ground and both their heads snap up and they scatter hiding behind the coral.

“Don’t worry I won’t hurt you.” I say softly trying to sooth them as I see the one poke her head out to look at us. Preston and I stand completely still while the girls slowly swim over flicking their large tails as they move, I watch them admiring their beauty and grace, their body’s gliding through the water effortlessly towards us. They’re amazing.
