Chapter 28.
Killian’s POV.

I sit watching my perfect mate sleep soundly beside me, she passed out from me feeding on her hopefully she’s not mad. I don’t even know if she knows anything about vampire mates, god she probably thinks I tried to kill her. My mind spins while I wait for her to wake up, I really hope she’s not mad.

After what seems like forever she finally starts to stir, I watch her face twist with confusion before her eyes dart open looking over to me frantically, fear evident. I rush to calm her as she screams loudly.
“You bit me!“ She shrieks angrily, oh yeah she’s mad.
“It’s called blood sharing..” I try to get out before her hand comes across my face hard making me shift back as my hand goes to the now obvious red mark.
“What the hell is that?” She demands, clearly not calming down at all.

“When a vampire finds their soul mate for the first time they blood share connecting them together in to an eternal bond.” I try and explain as she just stares at me with her mouth open.
“What kind of barbaric shit is that!“ She yells again making me laugh.
“Wolves do the same thing when they mate.” I say with laughter as she continues to just stare probably wondering how she happened to get stuck with me.
“Wolves mark each other with a bite not drink their blood!” She claims while I continue laughing.
“Yes and I’m a vampire not a wolf, so it’s a little different.” I say standing to grab my shirt before joining her on the bed.

I bite my wrist softly allowing the sweet red liquid to pour from my skin as her eyes go even wider then before, I move my wrist to her offering it as she gasps.
“Your turn.” I say with a smile as I feel her body shift from side to side, she slowly moves closer taking my hand in hers as she pauses.
“Are you sure?” Her soft gentle voice flows through my body like butterflies as I nod softly reassuring her. Her lips purse together before she hesitantly brings her mouth down to my skin, I feel the blood flows from my veins in to her as the sparks fly around us

I lean my head back enjoying every second of the connection, my heart pounds in my head as the bond begins to form in full force linking us together as one. After a few seconds she slowly pulls away and I feel myself gasp as the sparks fade and I begin to feel numb, I take her face in my hand softly while I kiss her deeply, my perfect mate. We lay back together while I live in the high when all of a sudden a heavy knock lands on the cabin door startling us.


Poppy’s POV.

We jump off the bed as my heart starts to race, who the hell is knocking like that on my door? I reach my hand out but before I open it Killian jumps in front of me and I take a step back allowing him to answer it.
“Brother!” Killian says loudly as the two men grab on to each other forcefully.
“Mathew, this is my mate Poppy, her twin sister Pepper is out currently but the Alpha should be here soon, lets talk in the sun porch.” Killian states as he pulls his brother along with him. I take a moment to go call the Alpha and get some refreshments before joining them.

I come in to the sun porch to see the two of them laughing hysterically making me smile, I set the tray full of drinks and snacks down on the small table in front of them before taking a seat across from Killian.
“The Alpha will be here in a few minutes.” I say softly as Mathew nods.
“I spoke with some of the families before I came, a lot of them are on board with moving in to a wolf pack.” Mathew says to his brother as Killian nods.
“I honestly didn’t see many of them putting up a fight, they are just as fed up with the membership as we are.” He responds before I chime in.

“How many vampires from your clutch are left?” I ask taking a sip of my drink as they both pause.
“There are around 30 families left so probably only around 200, after the hunters came we were all forced to go in to hiding if we wanted to live. Once the membership made the deals with the hunters are numbers stopped declining for a while then we started noticing members would go missing every once in a while, we assumed the membership was trading them off if they got out of line or went against the membership.” Mathew rambles on as I struggle to follow along, theres a soft knock at the door as I yell for them to come in.

Evans POV.

I walk in as the sweet smell hits me harder this time and I feel valerie tense behind me, I find poppy and the bloodsuckers in the sun porch where we all spoke last night.
“Hello Alpha thank you for coming so quickly.” Poppy states as she stands to greet me.
“This is Killian’s brother, Mathew. He arrived a few moments ago.” She says as I shake the mans hand before we all find our seats once again.

“Thank you for having us Alpha, I know how hard it can be to accept another species.” Mathew says as I nod softly.
“Well to be honest I’m interested in learning about the membership.” I answer as both men place their cups down.
“You see my pack has been working on a little project to bring all of the species in to peace, I’m hoping I can make a deal with your membership.” I finish while the men look between each other before speaking.

“With all due respect Alpha you don’t want that.” They say together as I cock my head to the side questioning them.
“The membership is absolutely ruthless, as I was saying before you came in, most of the remaining family’s no longer agree with the membership but have no choice. If you go against them you turn up missing.” Mathew states as he looks down calmly.
“I don’t see the membership taking any kind of deal especially not with a wolf, the membership is made up of the oldest vampires alive in our clutch. They are stronger and more experienced then the rest of us so no one has ever tried to take them on.” Killian says as they both look down and I feel defeat and shame wash off them.

“Ok, these family’s would they be willing to relocate if we could help them? Once on our land my pack will protect them from the membership, I have enough wolves we could easily go to battle if it comes down to it.” I respond as they both make eye contact for a moment.
“I will return and start talking to some of the family’s, we will move them out one by one over a few weeks. We need to make sure the membership doesn’t find out.” Mathew says as I nod.

“Perfect, you and your brother will be in charge of relocating. I will have my wolves start building and you tell me what you need.” I say before standing as the both smile joining me.
“Thank you so much Alpha, when Killian said he met a wolf pack willing to help us I didn’t believe him but thank you truly.” Mathew takes my hand shaking it again before I nod and leave. Once outside I look to Valerie.
“So how was that?” I ask as she smiles.
“Honestly I think it went well, with most the clutch joining and them being one of the last groups of vampires being left it should be enough to consider the species added to the link.” She says softly as I nod and we continue our walk in silence.

I walk in to the Alpha house and hear a baby crying, Valerie gives me a small smile and I’d return it before heading upstairs to help my mate. Alison is standing in front of one of the bassinets gently bouncing one of the girls while cooing softly, I go up behind her taking the baby from her so she can get the other one.
“Where’s Emily?” I ask softly trying not to disturb the small cranky pup in my arms as I move to sit in the rocking chair.
“She went for groceries, she should be back soon.” She answers while bringing me the other baby to snuggle.

“Can you hold them while I run them a bath? Their both teething and upset, it’s been like this all morning.” Her soft voice sounds defeated and I nod while never taking my eyes of my perfect little pups. I hear the door close and the water turn on while I continue rocking back and forth, the babies continue to whine but settle down a bit. God teething must suck, how did I get so lucky to end up having 3 beautiful girls in my life. My mate is so strong and our pups will be the same oh how I hope they will take after Alison.

I hear the water turn off so I gently get up and bring the babies to the bathroom, opening the door I see Alison sitting on the bathroom floor crying. I move to sit in front of her as I wait for her to calm down
“Why are you crying love?” I ask softly while she struggles to wipe her tears away.
“I don’t know!” She shrieks back at me making me jump, she never yells she’s always so composed and calm.
“Alison, talk to me.” I encourage hoping she will at least try.
“They don’t stop crying, I don’t sleep because when they do stop crying I panic thinking somethings wrong. I can’t make them stop crying and their always upset, I’m a terrible mother!” Her words stab through me like a knife, how long has she been feeling like this?
