Chapter 45.
Chapter 45.
Valeries POV.
I walk in to Alison’s room early in the morning to find her passed out hanging off the bed, I jump on top of her with a big smile as she screeches.
“Good morning!” I shout happily.
“Yeah ok good morning I guess.” She responds back in a grouchy tone making me laugh more.
“What are you doing Valerie?” She asks rolling over clearly not wanting to get up yet.
“I’m going out for a bit do you need anything?” I ask happily as I bounce over her sitting in her face again.
“No I’m ok, have you heard anything about Evan?” She asks as a nod before speaking.
“Poppy and Pepper are with the twins and the Alpha should be getting released in the morning.” I state as she finally pulls her head up making me laugh once again.
“Finally,” I hear her exclaim quietly as I stand to leave.
I want to go see Amara, she will be leaving after the celebration and ceremonies this weekend and I want to see her before we end up too busy to talk. I walk through the gardens towards the temp set ups as I notice all the servers and workers scurrying around getting ready for this weekend, Alison should be down once she’s actually alive to make sure everything’s on track, until then they all have to listen to Everly the head cook. She can be very demanding if she needs to be, I always laugh when the omega children take off when seeing her. The kids always seem to be in the kitchen getting sneak samples before the parties.
I make it to Amara’s tent when I can hear two people arguing and I stop trying to listen in to whats going on.
“I can’t leave my coven to be with you, I’m sorry..” I hear Amara state when a growl is heard lowly but loud enough for me to pick up on it.
“I told you already you will be leaving with me, I won’t have my mate living in a coven!” The voice booms sounding angry and frustrated. I knock on the table to catch their attention when their tent opens quickly, Amara stands in front of me wiping tears away as a tall guy pushes passed her and I realize it’s one of the wolves from the visiting packs.
“Oh hello Valerie what can I help you with?” Her sweet voice asks softly making me feel sad.
“Is everything ok? I heard shouting.” I ask as her head drops.
“Yes, everything will be fine.” She states without emotion as I take a moment to look at her and really take her in.
“Would you like to come out with me for a little while?” I ask her as she looks up and stops.
“Sure, I can come out for a while, where do you want to go?” She asks as I see a smile start.
“You’ll see.” I say taking her hand pulling her along with me, we run through the fields of the pack lands as the warm wind blows over top of us. I feel the wind through my whole body letting it pulse through me while I let my magic flow out grabbing little flowers on our way picking them up and twirling them in the wind in front of us as Amara laughs.
She pulls her hands up quickly as the leaves all take off in front of us mixing with my flowers, we laugh and run as we play with our magic until we reach the entrance of my caves and I slow down.
“I want to show you something.” I say as I continue walking over to the small hole while I try to catch my breath.
“Follow me.” I smile back at her as I crawl through the opening, I move aside letting her in as I see her mouth drop while she gasps making me smile.
“Oh my gosh Valerie, what is this place?” She asks while looking around.
“The moon goddess brought me here one day, they are the crystal caves.” I state as she takes small steps forward looking at everything as she takes it all in.
“The moon shines in through the small hole above the water hole, it reflects the crystals sending a vortex of power all around. I come here to recharge my magic and to see the mermaids, the watering hole is how I found the mermaids in the first place.
“The moon goddess brought you here?” She asks with confusion making me chuckle.
“After my first mate died, I started seeing and speaking to the moon goddess she’s the one who told me about the battle with the membership and the prophecy, she gifted me, Preston.” I trail off as I start removing my clothes to submerge myself into the water.
“I’ve never spoke to the moon goddess or ever seen her for that matter.” She says under her breath making me laugh.
“I’m half wolf and I was born to complete the prophecy, which I wouldn’t have been able to do without her guidance.” I state while allowing my body to drift around in the water feeling it swoosh around me as I turn back to her.
“What are you planing to do now that you’ve completed the prophecy?” She asks before falling forward in to the water.
“I’m not sure, I’ve linked in the majority of each species and since the last ceremony I feel more being added In each day which I’m assuming is the prophecy finishing. I haven’t really thought of what comes next I guess.” I state while looking up to the moon starting to get lost in my own thoughts.
“Well we would always be open to having you join our coven.” She slide in breaking me from my thoughts as I laugh.
“I can’t leave the pack, this is my home and I need to be here for Evan and Alison.” I state as we swim around in circles playing in the warm water.
“Well it was just an offer.” She says with a giggle we continue swimming in the small ocean pond for most of the day, I let my body soak up as much of the magic an energy as I can.
Poppy’s POV.
I walk into the nursery to find Alison rocking one of the babies back and forth looking down at her with tears in her eyes.
“What’s wrong Luna?” I ask softly as I kneel down in front of her.
“I cant protect them poppy.” She says as her tears come pouring harder.
“Protect them from what?” I ask almost confused.
“I come from one of the strongest wolf families in the world and I don’t even have anything to show for it, I’m basically a human. Everyone in the pack has something, a wolf, magic, strength I have nothing I’m weak and useless.” She states holding the sleeping baby closer to her.
“You’re not useless Alison, and you are strong. You’ve been through more than most people and you’re still such a strong and happy person.” I say trying to reassure her.
“Poppy if anything ever happens, I can’t protect them.” She says and I feel shame and disappointment wash off her.
“Well… there is something.” I say softly as her eyes widen.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea though Evan wouldn’t be happy.” I finish and she frowns.
“I’ll speak with Evan, Poppy what is it?” She asks and I look down for a moment before continuing.
“Killian was telling my about a ceremony to turn a vampire.” I state as her eyes go wide once again.
“Years ago, they would have humans drink the blood of the clutch and everyone would gather around while a witch asked the dark father to accept a new member, the membership killed all the witches so there hasn’t been any new members in years.” I finish as she stays silent for a moment.
“I don’t know if I could be a vampire, the bloodlust alone would be to much.” She finally says.
“Well it would make you stronger, you would live longer and be able to protect your kids but you wouldn’t be able to have any more children.” I say as her head drops.
“I don’t think Evan will go for that, I know he wants to have more children.” She states softly as I nod knowing he wants a big family.
