Chapter 7.

Chapter 7

I close my eyes focusing hard on my magic, she’s about 50 feet in front of me, I can see her hiding behind the bushes. Screaming howls fill the air aggressively as the smell of blood turns my stomach, my eyes flash open and I see my path appear in front of me taking off to find my mother.

Seeing her in my minds eye gives me the advantage I need, I’m able to blind side her taking her out front behind as she hides from the fight. My wolves aggressively battle her rogues as blood soaks the ground all around us. I pin her to the ground by her throat and I feel her magic burn me, I force through it pushing down on her harder when I feel a searing pain spread across my body and all of a sudden I’m air born before collapsing to the ground.

I huge black wolf stands over me as I pull myself up off the dirt, I feel his hot breath on my face as he snarls aggressively inches from me and I can hear my mothers sick cackle come from behind me. Preston quickly takes down my attacker and I shift quickly turning my attention back to that wretched woman. She quickly try’s to blast me with her magic which fails with little effect to me, one on one she knows she will never win, she needs to hide behind her wolves.

I creep towards her standing over her cowering body, towering in my wolf form as she struggles to use her powers against me, falling back on to the ground she screams while my teeth pierce in to her soft flesh, her echoing cry’s fill the air giving me sense of pleasure. I shift back to my human form still standing over her as she cowers back from me, blood dripping from my mouth as I feel a smile cross my face making hers turn in fear more.

Leaning down I put my face beside her.
“You took my mate from me.” I say through my teeth.
“Today you’ll pay for that with your life.” Plunging my hand in to her chest I feel her heart beat in my hands as I rip it out watching the life fade from her eyes. A strong feeling of peace wash’s over me , I stand there in the dead of night holding her dripping heart in my hands, Anna howls loudly claiming our victory.

The rogues weaken with the death of their leader who was sharing her power with them, making it very easy to kill off the rest of her team, a few took off in to the forest alone no doubt to go fully rogue or die from their injury’s. Preston walks over to me in his wolf form as he nuzzles in to my legs while walking by, I shift back grabbing my mothers limp body tossing it on to my back to bring her back to the pack lands, blood dripping off me as I begin our walk.

This woman ruined my life and now I’ve taken hers and I couldn’t be more proud of myself, I’ve avenged Parker and I know he’d be proud of me too. Getting back to the pack lands Alison comes waddling out, quite large now might I add.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on bed rest?” Preston says now in his human form walking up.
“I needed to know what happened.” She states looking over to me as she gasps loudly.
“Oh gosh you did it.” She claims, her eyes go wide and I chuckle throwing my mothers dead body on to the ground.

“Ok lets get you back inside, Alpha’s going to flip.” Preston says going to help her back inside.
“Where’s sloan? Isn’t she supposed to be with you?” I hear him ask as they walk through the door and she mumbles something about sloan being absent all day, our new betas have been struggling to get a handle on things, honestly Parker did a much better job when he was filling in.

Evan comes up behind me as I’m lost in thought about our new beta couple.
“You did good.” His voice low and tired.
“What do you want to do with her body?” He asks and I sigh turning to him.
“No ceremony just burn her. I want her gone.” My tone colder then I had meant as I see him nod slightly from the corner of my eye.

I go upstairs to see Alison while Evan deals with my mothers body, going in to her room I feel myself let go. Crawling in to her bed with her my tears start to fall as my emotions come spilling out, I feel her arms wrap around my sobbing mess of a being as she gently shhh’s and rocks back and forth letting me brake down.

I slowly calm down while my tears slow.
“Do you want to talk about it?” She asks softly and I look down.
“I don’t know what to even say, my mother would have killed me if she could have. I killed the woman who gave me life. What more is there to say?” I ask making her shrugs.
“Sometimes it helps to talk.” She says softly smiling at me as I feel my mind release.

“I know, I just don’t know what to say. I guess now I just need to try and move forward.” I say as she nods taking my hand.
“Feel.” Her little voice gives me butterfly’s and she places my hand on her huge belly, small movements cross my hands as I hold on to her. I smile brightly when the baby presses further in to me following my hand as I move it.

“Thats amazing.” I say eyes wide watching her belly.
“Yeah so amazing when I need to pee every 8 minutes.” She says with a giggle.
“Help me up please.” She says and I take her hand pulling her up while she waddles to the bathroom.
“I’m gunna go for a run, meet up tonight?” I yell as I hear her approve from the other side of the door.

I shift walking through the Alpha house and out the front door taking off to my cave spot.
“Moon goddess, Moon goddess are you there?” I call as I climb through the small opening.
“I’m here child and I’m very proud of you.” She says as I smile brightly.
“The battles over I did it, can I move on with my life now? Now that she’s dead?” I stutter anxiously waiting for her answer almost jumping out of my skin.

“Not yet darling.” She says coming closer as my face drops.
“What do you mean? I though after I killed my mother I’d be free from being the key?” I ask softly.
“You’re still the key, but thats no longer a concern with your mother gone, I sense a greater evil, I’m not sure what it is but I have a feeling something is still coming and you need to be prepared dear.” Her soft voice calms me while I listen to her.
“Do you know what kind of evil?” I ask moving in to the water to regenerate my magic I used fighting my mother.

“Im not sure, but it’s someone in your pack, try to sense them.” She answers and I nod leaning back in to the water as my eyes close, when I open them again she’s gone and I’m left alone to float in the perfectly clear water.
“You enjoying yourself?” Preston chuckles making me jump and lose my concentration.”
“Oh you terrible man.” I say under my breath walking out of my blissful pond now feeing annoyed.

“Didn’t I tell you not to come here?” I ask in a snarky tone as I walk over to my stone wall hanger grabbing a towel making him laugh.
“Yes you did but I wanted to make sure you were ok.” He states going to wrap his arms around me.
“Well I’m fine thank you, if you could please leave now.” I say looking at him as he grumbles.

“Fine I’ll see you back at the pack house.” His voice low and sad making me feel bad, but I know I need to take some time for myself. I dry off tossing my towel back on to the wall as I lay back against the stone letting my body feel the energy of the caves. I’ve been coming for a few months now and have been able to use my magic to reform some of the rock and make it a little more personal.

I lay around for most of the evening before finally deciding I should probably head back to the pack house.
