Chapter 60.
Valerie’s POV.

Poppy called this morning asking me to come over and see Alison, she want’s to go for a run in her wolf and the Alpha doesn’t want her going out alone. I finish my shower and get dressed before heading to the Alpha house, I find Alison in the kitchen as she sets her plates in the sink.
“Hey! Are you ready to go?” I ask smiling as she nods and turns to the front door.
“What’s wrong?” I ask following behind her.
“I just feel like crap today, I’m having a hard time eating but I’m so hungry.” She says grabbing her stomach.

“Ok well lets shift and let our wolves hunt, Talia might be hungry. Maybe feeding her will help curb the morning sickness your human body is getting.” I say as we step out in to the sun and it warms my skin making me feel happy. I watch her shift tossing her clothes to the side as I shift right after her, I sit back letting Anna take control. I notice Alison do the same and I mind link her as our wolves take off.

“Does it feel ok being in wolf form?” I asked.
“Better then human that’s for sure.” She says making me laugh.
“Well that’s good at least, try and rest while your wolf has control.” And with that I feel her fade from the link. We continue running for a while through the forest until I feel anna stop and point her nose to the air, Talia stops too copying Anna making me chuckle.

The two of them start chasing down a large deer as Anna breaks off leaving Talia to chase the large animal galloping in front of us, next think I know Anna is blasting through a bush landing on the deer as she sinks her teeth in to it before it goes limp falling to the floor lifelessly. Anna and Talia begin to rip away at the large body as blood begins to soak their muzzles.
“Woah.” Alison says through mind link.
“Whats wrong?” I ask feeling concerned.

“I feel better, its like the gross feeling has just disappeared.” She says softly.
“Once Talia started eating everything started to get better, I feel like I have more energy and I feel like I can eat.” She says as I laugh.
“Good, when we’re done here we’ll go for lunch.” I say.
“Oh perfect!” She answers as I laugh, it’s good to know that she’s feeling better.

I allow myself to sink back in to my mind as our wolves continue to share their carcass, after a awhile they are finally satisfied and laying around in the sun together. Over the last few years Alison has become my best friend, Evan and I have spent our whole lives together and he will always be my brother but I’m so thankful he gave me my best friend. Even if Preston and I don’t have kids it will be ok, we will have our perfect little family the moon goddess has blessed us with.

Peppers POV.
I sweep the floors in one of the old pack houses as the sound of power tools fills the air around us, wolves hammering and cutting wood as the new pack houses are beginning to get put up. My heart begins to pound harder in my chest as the air around me stiffens and I know Linus is standing in the room with me, I slowly turn around still holding the broom in my hands when his mouth lands on mine. His tongue comes pushing through fighting for dominance as I get lost in the feeling, his hands hold on to my shoulders as he pulls me in to him.

A second later his hands land under my thighs lifting me on to the counter and before I know it I’m lost in the perfect little place for just the two of us, my hands begin to explore his body more then they have before and I feel myself feel guilty for continuing it. A loud cough breaks us from our day dream and I quickly drop myself to the ground hiding behind Linus as I feel my face burn bright red.

“Oh hey there your highness.” The large man says making Linus chuckle.
“What do you need Liam.” He asks as the large man shifts from foot to foot.
“Alex has a few questions about building plans, he was asking if you could go and meet him.” The large man says as Linus nods before bending down to kiss me..
“I’ll be back in a few minutes babe.” He states before following the large man out.

I let out a breath I’ve been holding and hold myself up on the counter edge, they are all so intimidating. I take a few minute sitting at the table sorting through files eating a bowl of berries, theres only a few families of lycans left but they are large so theres around 50 members that will be moving in to the new pack houses, Alpha Evans gave us a large amount of land that used to belong to a neighbouring pack. My mind spins thinking about the fact that I will be leading a pack along side a Lycan king.

Every time I think of it my stomach turns, I can’t do this, Poppy was the out spoken one who used to always know what to do. I was quiet and would let her make all the plans, now we’re getting older and have found our mates. We have our own lives and now I need to learn to grow up and do things for myself I guess, my pack now too.

“Hello?” A small voice breaks me from my thoughts as I sit up quickly.
“Oh hey, I’m sorry I didn’t see you there.” I say before standing.
“I’m Britney, I’m king Linus’s sister.” She states as I smile.
“Well I’m Pepper I’m Linus’s mate.” I say offering her my hand as she takes it.
“Linus asked me to come and get you, he wants you to start meeting some of the pack members.” She says as I feel the air leave my lungs and panic fill me.
“It’s ok I will be with you and I will help.” She says giving my shoulder a gentle squeeze and I force a smile.

“Linus said you were a little jumpy with other people, he also said you’re a witch.” She says as she side eyes me trying to read my expression and we begin to walk out of the pack house.
“Yes I am, I was kidnapped with my twin sister by a wolf pack when we were children.” I say hoping my bluntness will stop her questions. It didn’t it just made her ask more.

“The next new moon is in 2 weeks, have you started planing your Luna ceremony.” She says and I snap back to my thoughts.
“Oh no not yet, Linus mentioned something about it but I don’t really know what to do. I was thinking of just going to my Luna for help, her and the beta are the party planners for our pack and everything is always so perfect.” I say as she nods.
“Ok well I can also help you with anything you need.” She says and I nod, we spend the next few hours mingling with pack members, Britney introduces me to each family and explains their positions I nod along politely and just try to make it through the whole interaction without looking like I was going to run away or throw up, she spends the rest of the afternoon dragging me around from person to person before I finally manage to find an excuse to go back to my pack.
