Chapter 20




Walking through the forest we make it to the clearing before crystal lake, wolves already begin shifting as we all wade in to the water together to bask in the moonlight. Preston takes my hands pulling me along with him while the cold night air hits my skin sending goose bumps in it’s place, we stop at the edge and shift together before submerging ourselves when we hear the Alpha speak.

“Take in the power and strength from the moon goddess, feel her loving embrace cloak you as you soak in the moon blessed water. My family has used this lake for ceremonies for years, the large quartz crystals bellow the water reflect the moonlight causing the water to glow in it’s beautiful light.” Evans voice flows through the forests, calming and relaxing as he uses his aura to neutralize the area.

I allow Anna to push forward and I feel my eyes flicker in colour, my body floats effortlessly while I focus on my breathing letting my mind drift. I feel Preston close to me and Anna purrs happily to the feeling of her mate, his fur brushes against mine sending small sparks along my body we continue to float basking in the moon light when I notice the other wolves in the same purr. Complete meditation connecting everyone with the moon, I thrive in the energy feeling it coarse though me, maybe I’m the connection, we can grow our pack and connect all the wolves first next the mermaids and hopefully I will have enough power to start the other species.

Preston and I walk through the forest leaving the chatter and movement behind us, everyone begins to depart while we slowly walk down the trails. Hand in hand Preston brings me to a small clearing in the trees, a small open field covered in long grass and bright blue little butterflies. The small fluttering insects fly around gracefully and I gasp in shock, my eyes light up and excitement fills me as I look around at the beautiful little bugs.
“It’s beautiful.” I say softly making Preston smile.
“I knew you would like them, I came across them on guard duty the other night. They seem to only be in this field though, I haven’t seen them anywhere else.” He claims while stepping closer.

My heart beat picks up and I feel his hands on my skin while I continue watching the little bugs.
“What are they?” My eyes follow the small blue wings flapping around us.
“They look like butterflies but I don’t know what kind they are, I’ve never seen anything like them before but they’re amazing.” His voice low and sexy, I feel a warmth spread through my lower stomach as my arousal rises. The music from the ceremony softly playing from the pack house filling the air around us, Preston’s hands travel along my skin and I moan softly in response.

We turn facing each other when his hands land on my hips pulling me closer to him letting a soft growl escape his lips, draping my arms over his shoulders we gently sway while the music continues.
“What are you thinking about?” Preston asks softly and I let out a deep gentle breath.
“I’m just thinking about how happy I am.” I answer softly.
“I’m not scared or full of hate for my mother, when I think about Parker it hurts but it’s not crippling anymore, I don’t wake up each morning not wanting to ever leave my bed again. I think I’m calm, I feel comfortable and happy with who I am.” My voice smooth and easy as we continue to sway.

“I have you, you’ve helped me heal so much in the past few months and I couldn’t be more grateful, so thank you for being there for me, thank you for being my second chance mate.” I say softly and I can feel him smile against me.
“I’m happy you’re happy, since my brother was killed then only thing that mattered to me was you. It was like a light came down showing me what I needed to do, we can do this together each challenge is just a new chapter of our lives together.” He says and I have a feeling he’s implying the prophecy, I know he’s scared of whats to come with the other species, we all are.

We’ve spent decades staying away from the other species the vampires are the worst, they have no care for human life and their only goal is to feed eternally. The other species fear the vampires for obvious reasons and I really have no idea how to handle them when the time comes.
“I’m strong Preston, and I’m getting stronger each day, the more members join the more power I have and we will be fine, I’m the key remember.” I say with a small smile while he chuckles still dancing under the moonlight surrounded by the beautiful glowing butterflies.

We gently sway in silence while the air around us gets cooler, I look up to Preston when I find his lips on mine within seconds. My heart throbs and I kiss him back, parting my lips allowing his tongue access to dance with mine, his hands begin to work their way up my body gently as the sparks spread from his finger tips working their way through me. Pulling me against him his hands quickly scoop me up under my legs and I wrap myself around him as he leans forward laying us both down on the long grass, his body presses in to mine the weight of him giving me comfort.

I pull my hands through his hair while our tongues fight for dominance, I lock my ankles around his body while pulling him forward, he gently strokes his head along my opening sending shivers through me and the anticipation rises. I thrust my hips forward as he chuckles knowing he’s teasing me.
“Please.” I beg softly when I hear his low growl come forward.
“Ah please fuck me.” I moan slightly louder and I feel his body tense and his lips come crashing down back on me.

Moving his head slowly he begins to push himself in me doing shallow quick thrusts pulling out each time making me squirm and twitch in frustration, he can be such a tease.
“How badly do you want me?” His voice low and sexy and I know its his wolf shinning through.
“I want to feel your big hard cock deep inside me.” I say in one quick breath not wanting to wait any longer.

He chuckles before plunging in to me deeply making my body jump and I gasp pushing myself closer, his hand wraps around my shoulder pulling me in to him deeper with each thrust.
“Ahh fuck.” He voice barely above a whisper
“I love how tight you are.” He gasps while keeping his pace, his one hand comes down on my neck pushing me harder in to the ground cutting off my air. My moans continue while he begins thrusting quicker, his free hand on my pelvic bone gently pushing in to me allowing me to feel him more.

My pulse quickens and I wrap my hands around his, pushing my hips up to give him better access I feel my body twitch in response, he releases my throat and I gasp as my body convulses in pleasure. His fingers pinch in to my hips hard and I know he’s getting close, my body comes down from it’s high and I feel him pulse in to me. He collapses on top of me breathing heavily as our sweaty body’s cling to the grass around us and I stare up in to the night sky, the beautiful butterflies fluttering above us as the stars twinkle along with one another.

We lay in perfect harmony with each other while we listen to the crickets chirping in the grass and the wind rustle through the forest trees around us, the wind bites my skin and I shiver as Preston pulls me closer. The butterflies calm and lay all around us, these amazing little bugs glow brightly, their wings have small lit up lines through them almost like electricity.

I notice the sky begin to get lighter when the butterflies all seem to start to disappear.
“What time is it?” I claim in shock as I roll over to face Preston.
“Probably close to 5 am.” He answers with a shrug and I pull myself up.
“We need to get back to the pack house, I need a few hours of sleep before meeting with the mermaids again.” I answer before shifting quickly, I hear Preston scoft before shifting to join me.

We run through the early morning hearing the birds chirp loudly singing together happily as they chase one another through the trees and I laugh before continuing, I feel Preston’s wolf close to me while we leave the forest and the pack houses come in to view. Some of the warriors are getting up to start training and guard rotation is switching besides that the pack land seems to still be sleeping.

I run up to our room quickly, being quiet not to wake the Alpha or the babies and dart straight for my bathroom and turn the shower on. I jump in to wash off quickly when I hear Preston come I behind me, a small growl comes form him making me smile in return.
“We’re not doing anything, I need some sleep.” I say with a smirk as I wash my hair and he grumbles in disappointment.

“Awe why not?“ He asks in a low voice when sparks spread cross my skin from his hands.
“We just laid in the forest all night after having sex, you’re good for a bit.” I say giggling as I hop out of the shower running to our bed, within seconds he is on top of me pinning me to the bed as I burst out in to a fit of giggles.
“Are you sure you don’t want it?” He purrs in my ear making my whole body come back to life, shivers spread and I feel my chest flutter calling to him.

“That’s what I thought.” He says before pulling my hips up and I laugh stretching my arms out. I feel him thrust in to me making me gasp while I hold myself up on my knees, his fingers dig in to my skin and he groans loudly vibrating through my chest. My body clenches around him and he lets out a loud growl scooping his arm under me holding me up as I explode around him, my body becomes weak and I struggle to stay up.

He picks up his pace pounding in to me harder thrusting deeper each time as every muscle in my body trembles from tonight, I feel his body tense as his thrusts become erratic and he holds me against him while he finishes. A heaping mess we lay together on the bed while he holds me tightly, his arms still wrapped around me.
“Fuck I love you.” I hear him say before my mind quickly slips in to the darkness.
