Chapter 9.

I stay with Alison until Evan comes flying back through the door with a box of pizza, he sets it on the bed before taking a seat beside me.
“How are you feeling?” He asks in a demanding tone gaining him a side ways look from me.
“I’m alright I think, I don’t remember much.” She answers as he nods.
“Well we are nearing the end so you have to stay here until it’s time for the babies to come, I’ll ask Sloan to cover your duties.” He says making my heart skip a beat.

“Actually Evan, I can handle Luna duties until Alison’s better, Sloan’s already so busy with beta duties.” I say as Evan looks at me narrowing his eyes, knowing I’m not saying something.
“What do you know Valerie?” He asks in a low deep voice making me bite my lip and look to the floor. My nerves rise knowing this is going to cause a huge issue.

“I don’t think Sloan is loyal.” I say calmly as my muscles stay clenched waiting for his response.
“Why? Has she done something to make you think that?” He asks and I take a deep breath preparing myself to talk.
“It’s just a feeling I get when I’m around her, my wolf rises and is on edge, a dark aura follows her and I don’t think her intentions are in the benefit of the pack Alpha.” I answer as his head drops.

“Ok, Valerie you handle Luna duties, and from now on we keep an eye on Sloan until we figure out what she’s hiding.” He answers as I nod softly.
“All of my work is in the home office, there is a moonlight run coming up, you just need to make sure the packs attending have answered the invite and prepare the pack to accommodate the visiting packs and their Alpha’s.” She says softly and I nod making a mental list of what I’ll need to do.

I decide to give them some time alone together and head out for a run before dinner, I run in human form tonight as I’ve been running in my wolf form a lot lately, I can use my magic while in both so either way I can develop my powers. I take off towards the rock edge keeping a steady pace as I make my way to my crystal caves, getting inside I strip quickly wading in to the water, laying on my back I allow my body to float effortlessly in the beautiful pond.

Closing my eyes I relax my muscles suspended in the water, small flashes go through my mind of a dark haired woman bringing a small child to an orphanage, the tall grey building looks cold and lonely. The women hides behind the bushes after setting the child down on the steps and knocking. I realize I’ve been pulled in to vision and I sit back and observe my surroundings.

A small older lady comes to collect the child and the dark haired woman covers her head leaving, who is this? Suddenly I’m pulled through my vision to a new scene. The woman is walking through a dark field full of dead trees and broken branches, I follow close behind her for what seems like forever before we finally reach a low lit cabin on the outskirts of the forest where the field meets. She checks around her anxiously before entering the small cabin.

I stand outside the window peering in to see the woman approach a man, he scolds her for something as I struggle to hear.
“Did you get rid of the abomination?” He spits coldly and the mothers head drops in sorrow while she nods, I notice 2 children playing closely as the parents talk. Why would they give up one child to keep the others? I ask myself while I watch them closely.

The mother leaves the room and I decide to follow her switching windows to get a better look, she walks in and collapses to the floor in front of a bed as she hides her face and I imagine she’s crying. I release myself letting my mind come back to my body while I continue to float along the water top softly, who was my vision just of?

I spend a good amount of time meditating and relaxing until I see the dark creep in through the hole above me. I should head back soon, hopefully I can see Alison before I go home. I smile brightly thinking of my large grumpy little friend, this pregnancy has been really hard on her and she’s done really well dealing with all the complications.

I bring dinner in to the medic centre with me as I can hear Evan loudly demanding things from one of the nurses, I open her door and she sighs loudly turning to me.
“Good it’s just you, Evan is in such a mood tonight.” She scoffs making Emily laugh. I pull a chair up placing the container of pasta on the bed as I hand each of them a fork, Emily grabs it from me quickly sitting back making me laugh.

“Gosh I’m so hungry I haven’t stopped to eat all day, Blair has had me in and out of the OR all day, he said he wants to up the training for the future doctors.” She says stuffing pasta in her mouth.
“He’s seemed a little pushy with the nurses and stuff too lately.” Alison comments as she takes a bite passing the bowl back to Emily.

“Well he’s been in a bit of a mood since we found out we can’t have kids.” Emily says softly as her eyes fall to the floor and sorrow wafts off her.
“What? Why not.” Alison asks, she stops eating and she looks like she might start crying.
“We did a bunch of tests and my eggs aren’t great, and being a human pregnancy would be hard to begin with let alone the issue with my eggs and scarring in my uterus from being in Alpha Romeo’s pack.” She says softly as the atmosphere drops and we both feel the sadness wash off of her again.

She’s had such a bad year and so much has happened, it really sucks that she won’t be able to get the one thing she wants with her mate.
“Well there’s other ways to start a family when you’re ready ‘em.” Alison says softly as Emily nods in response.

“I know, it’s just that he wanted his own baby, I’m sure he will open up to the idea in time but right now it’s just new and hard to deal with.” She says as she takes another bite.
“Well that’s understandable, hopefully he’ll be ready one day and you guys can find a way to start a family.” I comment as she nods softly before leaning back in her chair again.

I excuse myself after we eat and head up to my room, getting in I notice Preston isn’t back from training yet. I run a bath for us when he gets in and I tidy the room, lay out clothes and play some soft music and before I know it the door swings open as my handsome mate comes in.

I walk up kissing him deeply before turning to head back in to the bathroom, pulling my shirt up over my head I toss it behind me and as it lands on the floor I hear him growl deeply making butterflies explode through my body. I step in to the bath when I hear his footsteps follow me in, he turns the corner standing in front of me completely naked.

I giggle as I watch his muscles clench in anticipation, my hand goes to my mouth and I allow my body to slip in further to the warm water, he steps in coming down on top of me. His mouth finds my neck kissing and sucking lightly sending sparks through my body making me thrust forward to him, my fingers tangle through his long shaggy hair as I move my legs to either side of his making him groan deeply.

Grabbing my hips he thrusts in to me softly and the water moves round us, my moans begin feeling him push deeply in to me, pulling my hips toward him as he goes. He picks up his pace and I gasp, water splash’s out hitting the floor soaking the bathroom s we continue, a few more thrusts before he growls again loudly pulsing inside of me as I cling to him wrapping my legs around him firmly while he finishes.

Gently pulling out of me. He stands up turning on the shower and giving me his hand to help me out, we make out in the shower, kissing deeply while he pins me against the wall, enjoying one another’s body’s fully until we finally decide we are pruned enough to get out and head to bed.
