Chapter 55.
Peppers POV.

I open my door and step in to my room standing nervously as I feel Linus’s eyes on me and my heart beat begins to pick up, I feel like I can’t breath.
“This is my room.” I say quietly and bluntly. I hear him chuckle as he steps in behind me and I feel his hands on my hips from behind making my body tense up.
“Well for now it’s our room.” He says pulling me towards him and I’m flooded with a mix of emotions.

“I’m a virgin and I don’t completely feel comfortable being intimate with another person, my mate or not.” I say softly as my heart continues to race and I fear upsetting him.
“Just not yet at least.” I blurt out quickly.
“I have no issue waiting, you are my mate and I’ll have you for the rest of my life so waiting a little longer is fine. For tonight we will just sleep.” He answers and I exhale feeling relieved he’s not pushy.

“I just want to get to know you a bit better before anything sexual.” I say as I start walking over to my closet to grab clothes.
“I understand.” He comes to join me and I hand him a pair of oversized boxers I wear when I’m on my moon time or I’m not feeling well.
“You can change in here, I’ll go to the bathroom.” I say before rushing out the door and down the hall, when I get to the bathroom I talk to Poppy telepathically asking her to come talk to me.

A few moments later the door opens softly and I pull Poppy by the arm yanking her inside as she giggles and I shush her.
“Poppy what the hell am I going to do?” I ask feeling fear rise again.
“What do you mean?” She says laughing again and I roll my eyes.
“Don’t be dumb, I never wanted a mate and he’s a king! I don’t know how to be a mate or leader and what if his family doesn’t even like me?” I start rambling as my eyes widen and I feel myself starting to panic.

Poppy chuckles at me again watching me turn in to a mess spewing my emotions all over.
“Pepper it will be fine, he seems like a nice man and he agreed to move his members and family near the pack so that’s a good sign right?” She says as I sob softly.
“I guess so but that doesn’t help any of the other issues.” I state mockingly.
“Well you will learn over time, I’m sure he will help teach you about his ways and traditions and you can teach him ours.” She answers and I nod once again taking deep breaths trying to calm myself down.

“I’m going to bed now, you will be fine a I’ll see you in the morning.” She finishes saying as she holds my face while she talks and I nod again not saying anything. She stands up and leaves closing the door behind her and I take a deep breath tossing my clothes off before tossing on a nighty and heading back to my room, I step in to see my mate under my pale pink blankets on his phone.
“Sorry I’m just emailing my brother letting him know the plan, he will be taking the next few days to get all our members packed up to move down here.” He says while never breaking eye contact from his screen.

“Ok the Alpha can have some of the members help you start building on the new land, until then there are a few pack houses on our pack lands that you can use to house your members.” I say as I crawl in to bed under my fuzzy blankets.
“I’m excited to be starting over.” He says with a smile and I feel a happy warmth come over me.
“Why’s that?” I ask feeling confused, normally people don’t like having to pick up and start again.” I ask as he pulls me close to him and I feel his warm skin press against mine and the sparks begin to travel making me feel more amazing then I ever have.

“Like many other species and packs we’ve been hiding for years, only associating with our own kind for our own protection. Now that the prophecy is broken we can mingle again and start living normal lives, moving here will give my kind the chance to find mates and expand our species maybe bring our numbers up again.” He says and I nod now understanding why he was so quick to agree to moving his pack here.
“Lycans live longer then wolves, but that doesn’t help when we have been hunted for years and have been unable to expand our families and chances to find mates of other species. At this point we were going to be looking at extinction.” His voice is sad and low.

“Witches live longer then wolves too.” I say softly as I feel his hand squeeze on my arm. We continue talking for a little longer before we both start to drift off to sleep and the darkness consumes the two of us together.

Poppy’s POV.
Relaxing blissfully in my daze I feel Killian’s hands gently slid up and down my side making my body react flinching to each touch, I groan softly feeling myself smile as my mind starts to come around and I begin to wake up more.
“Well Good morning darling.” I hear him whisper to me sending goose bumps across my skin, I moan wiggling my body around as I hear him chuckle.

“Mmm what time is it?” I ask in a sleepy voice a his hands continue to travel along my skin.
“Almost 8, do you want me to get breakfast started?” He asks as I nod keeping my eyes closed and I feel the bed shift and I know he’s gotten up, I roll back over stretching out as I focus on the feeling of the sun come in through the widow. It’s been getting colder lately and even the sun can’t help me warm up, I don’t even want to leave my nice warm bed in the mornings. I’d rather just lay around all day snuggled in my fuzzy blankets and cozy room with a hot chocolate.

I guess I doze back off because I wake up to the bedroom door opening and the smell of bacon and eggs begins to fill the room, I smile again feeling my stomach rumble and know he’s come back just in time. He hands me the plate while I sit up and he placed my juice on the table, I put my toast in my mouth and start thinking about last night and almost choke.
“Oh my goddess Pepper found her mate.” I whisper yell to Killian making him laugh.
“Did you just remember that?” He asks while making a face at me as I nod still chewing.

I stop suddenly and look up to Killian while fighting back tears.
“Pepper and I won’t be living together anymore.” I say sadly feeling a tear slip.
“Hey it’s ok, we will still see her all the time and you’re twins you’ll always be apart of one another’s lives even if you’re not going to live together.” He says placing his hands on my shoulders trying to comfort me and I try to nod and just push the thought away.
“What will you be doing today?” Killian asks he goes over to the closet to begin pulling out clothes.
“I was planing on just spending some time practicing my magic in the forest today, what about you?” I ask back as he shrugs.

“Theres some stuff the Alpha wants Mathew and I to do today so I guess I’ll be meeting up with him shortly.
“I wonder if it has to do with Peppers new mate being a king.” I say as my mind drifts off, Pepper will be a queen, once she’s mated to him and claims his pack as hers she will rule along side Linus. When we were children I would have never thought of either of us ending up where we are now. It wasn’t easy thinking of a future in Romeo’s pack.

I finish eating as Killian gets dressed, he tosses me a pair of black fuzzy tights and a long grey wool dress before giving me a kiss and heading out. I continue to lay in my bed thinking about Pepper when I hear a small knock at my door and I call for them to come in.
“Hey, wanna talk?” Pepper states as she pokes her head in the door and I nod, we spend around a hour discussing what will happen in the near future with our new mates and lives to come. She said the Alpha has given Linus land to develop his pack on so she will be staying close and we can see each other basically daily.

After our talk we decide that Killian and I will keep the cottage as she will be moving on to the new land anyways, we promise to see each other at least 3 times a week and we will spend a full day each week practicing magic together. After she leaves I choose to finally get up and start my day with a shower.
