Chapter 34.
Chapter 34.
Valeries POV.
“Yes that’s actually why I’m here, he wanted me to let you know what we’ve decided and to plan our attack. The other packs should be here within 3 days once everyone is in place we attack.” I respond as she nods inviting me in to her adorable little home, it has such a soft cottage core vibe and I can smell bread baking in the next room making my senses come to life.
“Until we can attack we need to figure out a way to protect the pack from any surprises just in case.” I say as I take a seat on her strawberry red love seat with green pillows.
“Tea?” She asks as I nod. “Well I have a few books on protection spells maybe we could look in to those, I’d say I could try and mask the pack but 3 days is too long for me to hold my magic.” She says while coming back with a small tray with a cute frog tea pot and matching cups.
“Hmm ok well look over some of the spells maybe we can find something I could amplify, pass me a few books and lets get started.” I finish as I take the tea cup from her.
After what seems like forever and just about as many books we finally come across something from her family’s spell book, we begin with taking a map of the pack and a bowl of water. I light the candles all at once before we hold hands combining our power, I feel it flow from my hand in to hers and vice versa. We trace the pack with the water allowing it to soak in to the paper making a boarder. Closing our eyes we focus on the boarder we just made drawing the line in the dirt marking our land, when we meet together on the other side of the pack the line begins to glow as it creates the seal.
Once the pack has been sealed we lock our spell trapping everyone in, better yet trapping everyone out until we are ready to face the membership. We talk about what our plan is to attack for a bit before I head off to bed mind linking Evan as I go to let him know what we’ve done so far. Stella seemed really tired after the spell, she does mostly herbal magic, her family comes from a strong line of witches but she never really took to the same forms of magic as them.
I make it back and Preston is already passed out in bed, I giggle quietly going over to the bathroom to shower before dressing for bed. I lay down looking out my window to the moon as I focus letting it hypnotize me when I begin to hear the moon goddesses sweet voice chime through my mind.
“You’re doing so good my child.” Her comforting voice helps me relax and slip away deeper.
Evans POV.
I get up and go for a run before the other packs show up, after making it outside I notice Preston is already awake and has the younger wolves up and training. I nod to him before shifting and taking off, the cool morning breeze flows through my fur sending shivers cross me. I inhale deeply taking in the fresh air before picking up my speed and flying through the pack lands, the warm sun beams down over top of me as it begins to rise higher in the sky.
I slow coming to a stop in front of the crystal pond, I sit down in front of the water watching my reflection ripple back at me. My fathers wolf was solid white, he would shimmer in the sunlight. I remember watching him train when I was a pup, I used to think he was so beautiful. My mother was jet black, in the sun it almost had a blue tint. They were perfect, everyone in the pack looked up to then and they were strong leaders.
I get lost in a day dream reminiscing about my childhood, I hope I can give my children the life they deserve. I continue watching little fish swim below my reflection for a few more moments before deciding to head back to greet the other packs. My heart aches as I walk my way back through the forest, my life is just starting and my parents aren’t here to share it.
My mother used to tell me story’s of the mate bond, how it was the strongest love in existence like a string holding two hearts together to make one. She was so graceful and kind, I used to think to myself about what it would be like to find my own mate. What she would look like, how perfect she would be, my heart longed for what I have now. Two beautiful daughters and my wonderful mate leading by my side, oh if my parents could see me now. I know my mom would have loved Alison and the girls she wanted grandchildren more then anything and I really wish she could have experienced them.
I’m broken from my thoughts when I go tumbling to the ground, springing back up I snarl crouching down ready to fight when I hear Mark laugh in my head making me snap around.
“What the hell man?” I ask standing back up as I see alpha mark rolling around on the ground still in a fit of laughter.
“Sorry Evan I was out for a walk and heard you, I assumed you would have heard me. Have your guard down much?” He states giving me a stupid puppy grin with his tongue hanging out.
I shove passed him continuing to the pack as he gets up to follow me back.
“Has anyone else arrived yet?” I ask as I feel his wolf closer behind me.
“Not yet, they should be soon.” He states and I nod in response.
“Looks like we better hurry then.” I say quickly as I take off bolting through the field laughing when I hear Mark stumble trying to take off before getting up to chase after me as I sprint ahead of him. I’m one of the fastest Alpha’s in the area, Mark has no chance of catching me.
Valeries POV.
I tap my pen on my clip board waiting for Evan, god where is he. The other packs will be showing up any minute and the Alpha isn’t even here yet to greet them. I scoff when I see Alpha Evans and Alpha Mark tumbling across the pack land wrestling as they go, what children.
“Where have you been?” I shout loudly as they both stop dead skidding cross the ground before shifting back to their human forms.
“Sorry Valerie I was out at the crystal lake, I found Alpha Mark on my way back.” He snickers shoving Mark to the side making me shake my head.
“Ok well the packs will be here soon I have everything planned out, we will link one pack each night in order to keep my energy up. I can’t do everyone at once it will be too overwhelming.” As I finish my sentence we hear a horn honk from the distance and within moments a car is pulling up to the gate with a line of vehicles behind them.
“Well there’re here.” Evan says before turning to greet everyone as they enter. We spend most the afternoon making our introductions as everyone gets settled, I run around getting the last few things done before the ceremony tonight. I will be linking in 3 wolf packs as well as. Few vampire families, it will be one of the largest groups I’ve done so far.
With the membership on to our plan we need to speed things up so we are ready in case they attack, Alpha Marks pack has connections with a few witch covens also willing to join. Apparently these covens also use fairy magic in their craft, which means we now have access to the pixies and fairies to see if they will join us as well. The way I see it the membership won’t stand a chance against us.
“Valerie!” A voice exclaims braking me from my thoughts, I turn quickly smiling at Alpha Mark as he approaches.
“Sorry I didn’t mean to startle you.” He states in his smooth charming voice, Alpha Mark has always had a thing for me and isn’t very good at hiding it.
“You didn’t, I was just lost in thought.” I answer politely waiting for him to continue.
“Amara just called, she is traveling down with her coven tonight, they should be here by morning.” He says softly making me smile.
“Good! That’s actually what I was just thinking about.” I say laughing to myself softly.
“Amara is from the lake view coven, they practice light magic and herbal healing. She has invited a few of her friends from other covens to join us as well, they are very excited to meet you and will be traveling down in the next few days.” He states making me smile.
“I’m really excited to meet them as well, I don’t know many other witches so it will be nice to find some people that are more like me when it comes to my witch side.” I say smiling as he nods.
