Chapter 15.

“We are very honoured to be here.” I say softly smiling back.
“Well lets have some lunch and we will get started with training.” He states as I nod noticing Preston nodding very excitedly.
“Good I’m starved.” He states and I elbow him hard while the king chuckles. We follow him in to the kitchen to see the two girls already sitting at the table eating together.

“I told you to wait till I came back.” The king scolds the girls and they both giggle apologizing while still filing their mouths making me laugh while the king shoots them a look. We all sit down and a bunch of crabs come scurrying out holding plates of delicious looking food setting it down on the table in front of us.
“Oh my goddess this looks wonderful!” I say happily as I take a small red squishy thing that looks like jello biting in to it, it’s soft and sweet it has a fruity taste and it’s absolutely amazing. I moan softly to myself grabbing a little blue berry looking thing popping it in my mouth next and it tastes just as good.

“What is this?” I ask softly as I see Preston from the corner of my eye wolfing down food by the spoonfuls and the king chuckles.
“The blue berries are bubble berry sand the red stuff is coral sap.” The king says smiling over to us while we continue eating.
“The berries grow on the seaweed in the garden and the girls love collecting them so we eat them a lot, the sap is one of my favourite treats.” He says as I nod with my mouth full while trying to smile.

“When we are done we’ll head out to the court yard and the girls can help you learn some basics of water magic.” He says while twirling these seaweed looking noodling things along his fork and I nod in response, we all make small talk over lunch while Preston just quietly stuffs himself full of the new food. The mermaids are so nice, how is it we never even knew they existed, everyone thought they were just a myth.

After we finish eating the girls show us out to the court yard to get started, Alice swims out to an open space with Cove following right behind her. They rush towards what looks like a field covered in little jelly looking flowers, sitting on the ground quickly side by side as I swim up to join them.
“What do you know about sea magic?” Cove asks softly while she grabs a piece of seaweed wrapping it around her hands letting it flow around her.

“Literally nothing, I didn’t even know I could breath underwater until the day we met, that was the first time I’d ever done it.” I answer back as they look between one another quickly.
“Well you should be a quick learner seeing as you’ve done one of the hardest things for a witch, even some of the most powerful sea witches can’t breath under water log enough to make it here let alone use their magic to bring another person.” They look to Preston sitting on the sea moss dumbly listening to our conversation.

“Ok well we will start out with water manipulation.” Alice starts twirling her hands in small circles as a little world pool begins to form.
“I did something like this above the pond when I first unlocked my magic.” I say as I start forming my hands the way she is, picturing the small funnel forming with the water spinning around.
“How long have you had your magic?” Clove asks while she watches me, Alice coming to stand behind me and move my hands to make the funnel travel along the sea floor.

“Well I’ve been able to see things my whole life, visions, dreams, passed lives that type stuff. When my mother killed my destined mate it unlocked a new power inside of me that came rushing forward full force.” I answer as I continue moving the water picking small shells up along with it.
“Oh so Preston’s not your destined mate?” Alice asks softly in a shy voice making me realize she’s nervous.
“He’s my second chance mate, his brother was my destined mate, after he died the moon goddess gave me Preston. My mate wasn’t supposed to be taken form me so soon but my mother had other plans.” I finish while putting my hands down dropping the funnel cloud of water.

“What happened to your mother?” Cove asks as my voice turns cold.
“I killed her.” I say calmly and both there eyes widen in fear.
“You’ve killed people before?” They both ask in shock together.
“Being part wolf yes I’ve had to, my mother was revenge. I only kill when absolutely needed or when someone hurts my family.” I finish, they spend the next little while asking me questions about Alison and Evan before the king finally shows up to start training.

I answer all the questions the girls have about the pack and life above the Sea while the king listens closely asking a few questions of his own, Preston sits aside looking at all the new and cool plants while the king goes over basic control with me. We spend hours manipulating water in different forms, heating or cooling it making it move objects and more, he tells me about natural disasters and goes over the danger of letting my magic control me when my emotions aren’t in check. He helps me with centring myself and my body in order to have full control.

After spending most of the day working with the king Preston and I decide it’s time for us to get back to the pack, we say our goodbyes and the king makes me promise to return before the end of the week. Back on land I notice it’s already dark out, darker then normal I can’t even see the light of the moon, I pull myself from the water drying off as I look out through the opening above us.
“Why is it so dark?” Preston asks while shaking the water from his hair letting it fly around us.

“I’m not sure, I’ve never seen it like this before.” I answer, we both shift making our way outside to get back to the pack house. I struggle to see through the night, everything seems colder and creepier. It sends chills up my back and I feel Anna’s uneasiness.
“I think we need to get out of here.” Preston mind links and I nod my head quickly as we both take off, I listen to my surroundings taking in every noise around me, I focus on Preston’s footsteps beside me as we try our best to navigate through the trees and landscape as we go.

We reach the pack house as everything’s dark, no lights are on and my heart pounds in my ears.
“Somethings wrong.” I say through Mind link as Preston stays close to me allowing his fur to graze mine.
“Where is everyone?” He asks while we walk inside, the house is too quiet. I walk through the living room and upstairs to the Alpha’s room, I push the door open hearing Alison scream, I shift quickly moving in to the room closing the door behind Preston.
“It’s me! What the hell is going on!” I ask noticing Emily sitting with her in the corner of the Alpha’s bedroom, the babies laying in their little basket together and I crouch down beside them while Preston sits watching the door listening to the outside.

“The pack my parents came from attacked.” She says through tears as I place my hand on her shoulder.
“Where’s Evan? Where are they?” I ask as she shakes her head back and forth.
“At the north boarder Evan killed the power to the pack so they couldn’t attack the family’s.” Emily answers putting her head down. I stand up walking over to Preston.
“Stay here and make sure no one gets in, lock the doors behind me and hide the girls in the tunnels.” I say as he bows his head to me.

“We were to scared to leave the bedroom alone.” Alison says softly and I nod, well take you down then I’m going to find Evan.” I finish as we head down the stairs toward the basement. After leaving the girls in the safe room Preston shifts kissing me quickly.
“Be carful.” He demands in a low sexy voice, I nod and we both shift back to wolves as I take off through the dark.

I close my eyes letting my mind show me where Evan is, I see him fighting a large black wolf at the boarder and my heart pounds, wolves lay everywhere injured or killed, blood sprays as the attacking pack pushes in further. I pick up speed letting my paws pound the ground carrying me faster then normal, reaching the boarder I slow down ducking in the long grass to hide my wolf. I hear a huge crack in my mind forcing it forward as the sky above me lights up with a bolt of lightning and deafening sound.

I smile doing it again catching the attention of many wolves, I shift to my human form raising my hands letting the ground crumble breaking apart as it rumbles to my finger tips. Bringing my lightning down a fire ignites against the nearing trees snapping them down around everyone as they fall, I feel Evan mind link me as I continue my pattern making the wolves run around dodging my disasters.
