Chapter 63.
Later in the week…

I run around the morning before Salem’s party, he gets to meet his wolf this weekend once his birthday hits and the allying packs will all be here to cheer him on. I’ve been spending all week making sure that everything is perfect, I finish setting out the floral arrangements when Alison comes up behind me.
“Thank you for all your help this week.” She says making me smile.
No problem, I’m excited to see how the night turns out, I’m sure a lot of the other wolves are too.” I answer before turning to walk with her.


“Packs have started showing up now.” She says while linking her arm in with mine.
“Good everything should go smoothly tonight, where is Evan?” I ask as we watch the gardens fill up with people from neighbouring packs.
“He’s helping Salem go over everything for this afternoon and get dressed for the ceremony.” She answers softly as we continue to wonder around checking everything out.
“Is he excited?” I ask as she starts laughing.
“Who Salem or Evan? I think Evans more excited at this point, he hasn’t stopped talking about it all week.” She says and I smile back at her.

Evans POV.

Today is the day, today my son will meet his wolf and from tonight forward he will be training for the Alpha position. Quinn does laps in my head howling with joy, he’s excited for tonight as well. I know the other packs will take issue with Salem taking Alpha over when he reaches 18 because he’s not from my bloodline but they will just have to get over it, he is my first son and he is heir to the throne regardless of his blood. The moon goddess accepted him as mine and Alison’s son so the other packs should too.

I come back from my run to see everyone hustling around getting everything ready for the ceremony tonight, packs have come from all over to assist him in this transfer. The first change hurts the most but having the power of the pack behind you can help lessen some of that pain, the pack members can take some of the pain to make his first shift easier on him. I shift back to my human form and head inside to go find Salem.

I help Salem put on his suit and adjust his tie as we stand in the mirror side by side, he looks so grown up. Quinn brings memories forward of the first night we met him, when Alison came carrying him to us after assessing the children, the first night he stayed in our home and every night since then I’ve stood outside his door after bedtime watching his small little body rest wondering what I would have done if he had never come in to my life. He is my first child the one who cracked my heart wide open, that is a special bond we will always have
.
“Are you ready buddy?” I ask softly as I see him smile while his eyes never leave his reflection in the mirror and he nods.
“I can’t wait to meet my wolf, do you think they will like me?” He asks softly and I feel him get nervous as his emotions start to rush off in waves stronger then before, the closer we get to him meeting his wolf the stronger his Alpha instincts and traits are coming in.

The bells chime loudly outside catching my attention as I feel Salem’s heart jump.
“It’s time.” I say with a smile as he takes a deep breath and nods, we leave the Alpha house to find Alison standing on the porch waiting for us. She turns smiling brightly before reaching for Salem’s hand.
“Well it’s about time! I’ve been waiting out here for 10 minutes for you.” She says laughing as we all join hands and begin walking to the gardens for the ceremony to begin.

Alisons POV.

Walking in to the garden lights are strung from the large wooden posts above us illuminating a beautiful glow over everyone as it begins to get darker. The pack members stand off to the side lining our path to the main platform before the edge of the forest, Evan walks up the concrete steps first as I follow behind pulling Salem along with me.
“Thank you everyone for joining tonight, we are all very excited to be here to support the next Alpha coming in to his wolf. As always the Elders and witches will bless the new wolf before we begin!” Evan states as Valerie comes over with 2 of the council members.

Salem looks over to me and I see the fear flash in his eyes before it’s taken over with a rush of excitement, the 3 walk over to him as they link hands surrounding him in a circle. They all begin a quiet chant softly to them selves as the winds around us start to pick up and become heavier then they were, slowly the wind begins to spin around them pulling leaves gently along with it. The wind suddenly stops and everything falls to the ground as Salem inhales sharply and I can’t take my eyes off of him.

“I will now be linking the pack in to Salem, we will help take some of the pain from the shift.” Valerie states loudly before closing her eyes and a bright light flashes over all of us.
“It’s done.” She says quietly to Evan as he nods in response.
“We have a few minutes until midnight so feel free to shift now or wait until we are going to do the moonlight run.” Evan tells the other pack members as we both go over to Salem sitting down beside him.

Salems POV.
It’s finally here, the night I can meet my wolf.
“Go change in to your robe quickly.” My mother says as I nod running over to Valerie as she helps me change in the small storage shed just off the stage we were just standing on. When I’m done I return to my parents sitting back down beside them as I take their hands in mine, I love them so much. They have been there for me for the last 5 years and I couldn’t have asked for a better family to end up with, the twins are just perfect I ever thought I would have siblings living I Romeo’s pack and here I am with two perfect little sisters and another sibling on the way. My mind drifts to thoughts of the new baby when I feel a sharp pain erupt through my body making me flinch.

“It’s starting.” I hear my fathers voice say as my body continues to twitch with each pain splitting through me.
“Shhh shh you’re ok.” I hear my mother say and without realizing it I find myself laying on the ground as my body continues to contort with each movement trying to shift through. Suddenly I feel my arm break and I hear myself scream not thinking it actually came from me, my body begins to reform as every break shatters my bones in to new shapes. After what felt like hours I begin to wake up breathing heavily as my chest rises and falls with each inhale.

I open my eyes to see my mother sitting in front of me as her hand comes down stroke into my face, I feel something move behind me as I look up and see my tail wagging back and forth. I have a tail I have a beautiful white tail! Looking down at my paws I see my whole body is white just like my dad, I spend a few minutes looking over my new body as I notice my parents smiling down at me.
“Oh baby you’re so beautiful.” My mother says kissing the top of my head.
“We will now be shifting to start Salem’s first of many moon light runs.” My fathers voice booms over the crowd and I stand watching in awe.

I’ve always loved watching him in his place of power, they way he moves the power his voice carries it’s all amazing and I hope one day I grow up to be half the Alpha he is. The pride I feel from the thought of having a pack is amazing, everything feels so different, everything is more in tuned and stronger.
“Are you ready?” A soft smooth voice says making me shake my head.
“Thats your wolf, talk to him.” My. Mother says and I nod, how did she hear him I think to myself.
“Ready for what” I finally ask after mustering up the courage.

“To run of coarse, I’ve been locked in here this whole time and I’m ready for a run.” the voice says and I feel my adrenaline rise.
“Well can I at least know your name?” I ask as I hear him chuckle.
“I’m ace your wolf, it’s nice to finally meet you.” He states as I nod.
“I’m Salem, it’s nice to meet you too.” I say as I stand up wobbling on my 4 weird new feet, after a few steps I begin to get the hang of it and go over to join my parents at the head of the pack ready to lead the run.

Standing beside my father he looks down at me with pride and I feel it wash through my body making me smile back at him, a second later my mother walks up beside me nudging in to me as she passes. My father puts his head high in the sky before letting out a earth shattering howl that echos through the forest bouncing off the trees as it goes. I lift my head to the sky copying the sound in a much smaller volume making my mother snicker behind us, the next thing I know we are off in to the night.

My paws slam in to the ground as shimmering tickles spread through my body and I feel the power of my wolf rush in, I howl again in a loud chirpy little voice expressing my pleasure. I never thought it could feel this amazing to be a wolf, I could have never imagined the rush of power your wolf gives you after your first shift. The wind blowing through my fur is the biggest rush of freedom, each muscle in my body tenses with each stride making waves of strength flow through me.
