Chapter 21.



I wake the next morning to my alarm going off and pry my eyes open wiping the sleep from them, I groan dragging my body from the bed as I feel my head pound. I definitely didn’t get enough sleep, I notice Preston still sleeping with one leg hanging out of the bed when I go to the closet. I change and head to the Alphas office to meet with him before heading back to see the mermaid king.

I knock softly when I hear Evan call out for me to enter, I walk in and mope my way to the small chair at the side of his office.
“You ok? You look like crap.” Evan jokes making me laugh.
“Yeah we just got in late last night.” I say resting my head down.
“I know, no one seen you come back with the rest of us and it was already getting late when we came in.” He finishes as he leans back and I swear I almost dozed off.

“What time are you leaving?” He asks as I sit up trying to focus.
“I think I might go lay back down for a bit longer before I try and do anything, honestly I’m dizzy and just want to sleep. I’ll probably go after lunch.” I say as he nods.
“And you think the mermaids will allow you to link with them?” His voice full of doubt.
“The king knew of the prophecy he’s been waiting for me and wants the species united, I don’t think it will take much convincing.” I answer and Evan continues to nod.

“Ok well I will be calling our allying packs, I’ll explain what is going on and see which ones are ready to join now. I won’t be pushy but I don’t see many of the Alphas putting up an argument, most of the packs have kept to themselves for years due to the conflict between the species.” He says while I still struggle to follow along.
“Once we get the wolf packs and mermaids we will try and reach out to some of the other species.” He finishes and I agree, he dismisses me and asks for me to come see him when I return.

I walk back in to my room to find Preston in the same spot I left him in, I crawl in next to him letting my body fall to the bed like a rock. I allow self to relax fully meditating as I lay there feeling each body part get heavier going deeper in to relaxation before finally slipping back in to a restful bliss, after my nap I will be off to my crystal caves to meet with the king.



The caves are cold and darker the normal, something feels off. I walk in slowly carful not to make any noise, I allow Anna to shine through so my senses are higher I wait for a moment trying to feel anyones presence before walking all the way in. I seem to be alone but someone’s definitely been here, I sit down placing my hands on the cold stone.

I focus hard trying to sense anything that could still be lingering to give me an idea of what may have come in, after making sure the caves are clear and I’m fully alone I begin to wade in to the water calming my breathing as I walk along the bottom of the sea allowing my body to fully submerge while I head off to the mermaid kingdom.

The king lets me in when I arrive giving me a big hug as I walk through the doors.
“Hello dear, I wasn’t expecting you back so soon.” He states as I move inside to give us some privacy.
“Something happened back at my pack, after everything settled down we accepted in new members and my power cloaked my pack as well as the new members.” I say in one long breath as the king nods.
“I think I have to link everyone with my magic from the other species to complete the prophecy.” I finish as his eyes go wide.

“Well lets go, I’ll get the merpeople together and you can link us.” He says without hesitation and I smile happily that was a lot easier then I was expecting.
“Thank you king, I’m sorry for such short notice but it seems the more people I can link to me the stronger my powers are which gives me a better chance at forcing a link with the species that put up more of a fight.” I say as he nods.

“You may have some issues with the vampires but the others shouldn’t be much trouble.” He says before blowing in to a large shell giving off this loud echoing noise through the air, a few moments later 6 mermen were standing in front of us holding huge spears as they wait for their commands. The king tells them to gather everyone in to the kings court tonight for a acceptance ceremony and the guards all nod emotionlessly before taking off.

I decide to go off to find the girls before we start, the king said it should only take a few hours for him to have everyone ready so until then I will see what they are up too. We spend the next while talking and gossiping about all the drama going on in each others worlds, they ask lots of questions all the time about pack life and what it’s like being a wolf, it always makes me and Anna laugh answering the silly things they ask.

We eventually hear the loud shell sound again indicating that we are ready to begin when the girls and I all stand to make our ways outside. Once in the kings court we see hundreds of merpeople all joined in chatter while we make our way to the front while the kings voice begins to boom through the water being heard for miles.
“As many of you know we have been communicating with the wolves, the prophecy is set in motion and we are living in a time that matters most for our future change. Valerie is a werewolf witch hybrid from a pack not far from us, she is the key to bringing the species back together and she is here to link us all to her magic.” The kings voice loud and illuminating power.

“This is the beginning of a new era and I am proud to be apart of it, with the coming of peace and the building of allies we will be able to return to land once again giving us the option of finding our mates from other species once again!” The king declares as the crowd erupts in to cheers and cove leans over to me.
“Merpeople’s numbers have been decreasing rapidly for years because we are limited with our interaction above water, this will really help us build our numbers back up.” She whispers softly as I nod totally understanding. Some species never find there mates because they don’t have the chance to look outside there own group, each species has their own form of a mate bond it doesn’t matter if it’s a soul mate, blood bond, or a binding but it’s definitely not unheard of for species to mate outside their own kind.

The king takes my hand as I step forward allowing my magic to flow as it seeps from me.
“Hello everyone! My name is Valerie, in order for me to tap in to your bond I need you to open up your link with your king.” With that I see their heads drop and eyes close when the magic fills me rushing from my hands covering each person in the court, I take in the power and strength of their water tribe letting it consume me. All of the members flash through my mind as they are added in to the link, I inhale deeply letting my head lean back as I relish in the feeling.

When it’s finally over I feel like I’m riding on a cloud, the power is intense and different then that of the wolves. I hang around for a bit of the celebration before thanking the king and heading on my way it’s getting late and I’m sure Preston is waiting for me, I swim back up to the pool of water in my cave as I break through the surface inhaling the air deeply as I collapse on the shore line with a huge smile on my face still feeling trapped in a high.

A bright glowing light comes down over top of me I can feel it’s presence before I even open my eyes and I know it’s the moon goddess.
“Hello my child, I’m glad to see you smiling.” She says happily as she emerges from the water and I sit up lazily.
“Hello moon goddess it’s good to see you as well, and thank you for everything you’ve done for me lately.’ I say almost rushing it not wanting to ever miss the chance to thank her.
“Well dear, I’m here to warn you. With the more power you gain the more species know of your intentions. They can sense your power and they will be coming for it.” She claims as she takes a seat down next to me.

“I just linked the mermaids and Evan is talking to Sophia about linking with her coven as well, so far that’s all we have though besides the werewolves. I have no idea of how to even get to the vampires so they will be tricky.” I say scratching my head as I hear her chuckle. ”You are doing great Valerie just keep going once you have a group from each species it will become a lot easier to gain the rest.” She states and I nod softly.

“Why was I chosen for this?” I ask almost by accident.
“Valerie dear everything happens for a reason, I don’t get to choose everything I can just manipulate it and give blessings.” She says before wrapping her arms around me pulling me to her in a soft comfort.
“I’m truly sorry you didn’t get the parents or life you deserve.” She says again and I begin to doze off as her presence slowly begins to fade away.
