Chapter 59.

Chapter 59.

I stand in front of the mirror pulling my long blond hair in front of my shoulders brushing it as I go, I twist the one side over and over until I can start braiding it on the other side to tie it all back. My skin glows with this pregnancy, it’s amazing to see how much having my wolf has helped me and improved my health. I won’t need to take so many supplements this time around either.

When I’m done I say goodbye to Poppy and grab a bagel for the walk, I get to the medic centre within 20 minutes after walking past the pack house and school watching all the children playing outside with one another. I walk inside to be greeted by Emily sitting behind the front desk.
“About time, doctor Blair has asked 3 times when you’ll be in.” She says with a giggle and I smile back while I follow her in to the exam room.

“You know the drill.” She says as I hop up on the table and she pulls the ultrasound over to us, I pull my shirt up as she gets everything ready and puts the gel on my stomach. I can’t stop smiling as my heart flutters away in my chest, I’m so excited to see my little baby.
“Are you ready?” Emily asks as she puts the wand on my stomach and I flinch to the cold movement.
“Yes, I’ve been ready since I found out.” I say back as she smiles and a little grey blob comes up on the screen, a small bumping sound comes from the screen and I feel my body relax hearing the heart beat.

“There’s the baby.” She says pointing to the screen and I swallow the lump in my throat.
“Just 1?” I ask softly feeling anxious and nauseous all at once as she nods giggling.
“Yes there is just 1 this time, I’m going to have doctor Blair come in and take a look before we clean up.” She says before standing up and walking out of the room. I sit quietly as my heart flutters feeling full, I know I was in a rough spot the first few months after the twins were born but I’m hoping that was only because of the way they were born. Hopefully this time will be better.

A few moments later the door opens and doctor Blair walks in with Emily in tow as he looks at his charts.
“Luna it’s good to see you.” He says softly before taking a seat and continuing with the ultrasound.
“This pregnancy should be easier on you now that you’ve changed in to your wolf, she will help you through the pregnancy. The only issue I’m seeing is that the placenta seems to be sitting on the scar tissue left from the last pregnancy.” He says as my heart feels like its being squeezed in a vice.

“The previous scar has left what we call a shelf, it doesn’t seem to be an issue right now but we will need weekly ultrasounds to keep an eye on it and you’ll need to take it easy.” He states as I lean back further, so much for this one being easy I think to myself remembering everything that happened during my last pregnancy.
“What issues can the scar tissue cause?” I ask nervously.
“It can block nutrition from making it to the baby as you grow, it could cause another placental abruption which your high risk for from having one in the first pregnancy, it could cause issues during delivery resulting in another c-section.” He says as I sit there stunned.

“So I could basically have all the same issues with this pregnancy as the last?” I ask as he nods and starts wiping the gel off my stomach.
“Great.” I mumble under my breath trying not to seem disappointed.
“We will be here to support you through this pregnancy and we will keep an eye on things, it will be ok Luna.” He says as he places a hand on my shoulder and I nod, he leaves the room as Emily walks back over and takes the pictures from the computer handing them to me.

I smile sitting up as I pull my shirt back down.
“Evan is happy I’m assuming?” She asks with a smile as I nod not taking my eyes off the photos of the new little bean growing inside of me.
“What’s wrong?” She asks sitting down beside me as I exhale louder then I meant.
“I was hoping this one would be easier, whose to say I don’t have all the same issues and then end up depressed after?” I ask feeling my heart break a bit inside.
“Is there anything Valerie could do maybe?” She asks as I shrug.

“I’m not sure, I could ask I guess.” I say taking a deep breath.
“It will be ok listen, we will all be here for you and if you do end up sad after the birth again we will all help you.” She says hugging me softly as I nod.
“I know, I just thought this time would be different.” I say as she sits with me for a few minutes before I finally decide to head home and talk to Valerie.

Evans POV.

Another baby! We’re going to have another baby, Alison was so happy when she told me. Quinn has been jumping and howling for joy since we found out, just as quickly as the excitement and happiness came so did the fear.
“We need to up the guard.” Quinn states in my mind as I agree, I won’t be taking any chances this time, Poppy or Pepper will need to be with her at all times and they will need some basic training in order to protect their Luna.

My mind races as I sit at my office desk going through the guard rotation and I re-organize everyone’s shifts, I want the pack fully secure through this whole pregnancy. Her own sister managed to get in to the pack last time by winning the beta tournament and I wont let it happen again, we will take more precautions this time around and everything will be perfect.
“Lets run.” Quinn demands and I chuckle in response.

I tuck my paperwork away and mind link Preston to meet me outside, I grab a quick drink and head to the porch as Preston comes running up.
“Hey Alpha, what do you need?” He asks as I close the door behind me.
“The Luna is pregnant, you and Valerie are betas so I expect Valerie too stay with Alison until the pregnancy is over, I also want you upping the guard and changing the rotation regularly. I don’t want to run in to another issue like last time.” I tell him as he nods.

“Alright, no problem Alpha. Anything else?” He asks as I turn before leaving.
“Yes, I want a guard posted in the Alpha house at all times, I left a list on my dest to help get you started.” I say before running off Quinn growling loudly in my head, he’s wanted to run all day and I’ve been pushing it off.

Alisons POV.

I wake up to my stomach rolling making me rush to the bathroom before puking all over the place, well I guess the morning sickness has finally hit. I getup and climb in to the shower, I turn the water on and let it pour over me while I lay on the floor of the bathtub waiting for the nausea to pass, I hear a knock on the door making me groan not wanting to move.
“What?” I call as I hear my bedroom door open.
“Luna? Do you want some breakfast?” I hear Poppy call as I nod before realizing she can’t see me.
“Yes please.” I say as I try to pull myself up, my stomach grumbles and the hunger makes me feel more sick.

I take a few deep breaths pushing the feeling down before standing up quickly, by the time I get to my room wrapped in a towel Poppy is coming back in with a plate of food as I collapse on to my bed.
“Oh are you not feeling good Luna?” She asks as I groan before sitting up, I take the bowl of fruit and toss some blue berry’s in my mouth.
“I woke up hungry and it made me feel sick, hopefully it will pass soon.” I say between bites of fruits as she goes to my closet pulling out loose track pants and a tank top.

“Didn’t doctor Blair give you something to help with that?” She asks bringing my clothes over.
“Yes but I don’t want to have to take them all the time, if eating doesn’t help then I’ll take them.” I say as she nods before sitting down beside me.
“I’ve heard a few other women say that shifting in to their wolf helps subside pregnancy symptom’s, in the first trimester, your wolf is stronger then you she may be able to help you with this pregnancy.” She says as I nod still eating.
“Yeah I plan to go run later I’ve heard the same thing.” I respond as she smiles and places her hand on my shoulders.

“Ok Luna I am taking the girls to their pre school intro and I will be back shortly, Salem is going with iris to school so you can take the day to yourself I’ll get Emily to pop over and help me get some stuff done maybe we can have a girls night tonight with movies and snacks.” She says with a smile as I nod smiling back, I lean back on my pillows slowly still eating the fruit as my stomach begins to settle. Man this baby does not like waiting for food.
