Book 2: Chapter 39
***Chapter 39***
Jay wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted to spend the day with me. He woke me up quite early the next day and had this look of excitement on his face. Normally, I’d be pissed he woke me up, but today was different. The plan for the day wasn’t something I had in mind, but sounded great either way. It’s been quite a bit since we’ve had dinner with his family. The only difference is, we wouldn’t be having dinner this time.
Jumping on the bed, I groaned with a smile on my face. “Why must you wake me up so early!” I yell at him.
He laughed, laying on top of me. “Because I told you, you’re not leaving without spending the day with me.” He reminds me.
I giggle, sneaking a quick kiss. “Ok, so what’s on the agenda then?” I couldn’t help but wonder.
He sat up, pulling me up as well. “Since we haven’t made up that dinner with my family, they’ve invited us to go on their boat and spend time on the beach a little.” Then his smile grew big. “After that, I have a special surprise just for you.”
That wasn’t something I could argue with. Getting to see his family would be nice. Especially since we get to go on their boat and to a nice beach. My biggest wonder was what this surprise was that he had. He and Cyrus were going to get enough of surprising me one of these days. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy them though. They always came up with the greatest gifts one could ask for. There wasn’t anything for me to do to compare.
With our plans in place, we got up to get dressed as Jay got me another sundress to wear. For some reason, he loved me in sundresses and continued to buy them for me whenever he could. I didn’t mind because he picked out some cute ones. I’m thinking Clara was behind a lot of it but it’s the thought that counted.
This time I picked out the pretty yellow one that complimented my skin well. As for the bathing suit, I tried to find one that was as modest as possible which was hard. Ever since Bradyn got me to wear those thong bikinis I couldn’t stop. This one was a little more cheeky than thong though and worked for today’s outing. Jay seemed to love it and that’s all that truly mattered.
Once we were finished getting ready, we headed over to his parent's house. It was as beautiful as ever and they were all so welcoming. Even Derrick who did come and apologize before. It was nice to see him making efforts with Jay. They seemed more relaxed around each other and laughed with one another. Clara also seemed like she was relieved that they were finally getting along. It bothered her so much that they were at odds. I bet it felt great to have her family seemingly whole.
Speaking of which, Nadia came around to me more this time as we were on the boat headed to their private beach. She was talking and laughing with me. She even wanted me to play in the sand with her which I didn’t mind. We attempted to make a sand castle, but it didn’t turn out too well. We still had so much fun with one another.
“Autumn, would you mind coming in the water with me please?” She pleaded.
I smiled, nodding my head. “Of course! Let’s go have fun.” I say.
That made her happy. “Jay, you have to come too!” She didn’t want to go anywhere without her big brother.
Jay chuckled. “Alright, alright I’m coming.”
We all got into our swimsuits, bringing Nadia into the water. It gave Clara and Derrick a break to be with Jacob as well. It was nice spending the day with his family and getting to know them better. Jay and I didn’t disclose that we were officially dating to them yet, but I don’t think he was ready to do so. That was fine given the circumstances. However, it was obvious that we had something special as the night started to wind down.
In the midst of everything, Jay and I finally found some time to be alone for a few minutes. It was nice getting to walk along the wet sand as they packed up to head back to their house. Hand in hand we walked listening to the crashes of the waves. It was beautiful, to say the least, but was even better since Jay got to be right here with me.
“So, I was talking to my dad earlier and he was thinking about getting me into the family business,” he tells me.
I giggle. “How lucky are you to be wealthy and inherit family businesses.” I joke. “But seriously, that’s awesome. It’ll give you more to do.”
He nods in agreement. “Yeah, that’s true.” Then the air got a little tense around us. “You know, I mainly agreed because I was hoping when all of this is over, that you would want to take things to the next level…” he sounded nervous.
I wasn’t sure what he meant by the next level. We’ve only been dating for a few weeks at this point. Granted, we’ve had a thing since last year that got put on pause. Factoring that in, it’s been quite some time. But what’s the next level? I’m hoping he didn’t mean marriage because I didn’t want to turn him down. Marriage wasn’t something I was ready for. Especially after seeing the train wreck of a marriage, I’m a part of. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t hear him out though.
Getting nervous, I stopped in my tracks to look at him. “What do you mean the next level?” I asked curiously.
He grabbed both my hands, smiling. “Autumn, I don’t plan to ever lose you no matter what happens in the next couple of weeks,” he says. “Your mine baby, and after discussing it with my dad; I was thinking you and I could find a house of our own.”
My heart raced with a shocked expression on my face. “You mean like move in together?” He nods. “Are you serious?”
“Yes, A. I wouldn’t be talking about it if I wasn’t.” He kissed my hand. “Besides, we practically already live together and honestly, I don’t want you to leave. Not again.”
His words were sweet and I was having a hard time processing them. Jay just told me he wants to get a house that’s strictly ours after everything is said and done. He was more serious about me than I first realized. I knew he wanted our relationship to be real but not this real. His taking the offer to get into his family business wasn’t for himself, but to make sure that he can provide for both of us. I’m not sure how I lucked out this much, but I did and I couldn’t possibly let it go.
“But…but what about my apartment?” There were so many questions.
He shrugged. “Keep it if you want. I know you’ll need to go to Greendale from time to time for your bakery right?” He was right about that. “That doesn’t change the fact that I want this for both of us. I don’t even need an answer now.”
I smile. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, it’s a big ask. I want you to think about it and make the right decision for you.” Why did he want me so much?
Regardless, I smile, wrapping my arms around his neck. “Ugh, I love you, Jason,” I say before kissing him gently.
I couldn’t stop myself from saying so. His sweetness and the ability to make me want him even more than I did was scary. Being apart from him would be hard though. To his point, I didn’t want to leave him again either. Though getting our own house was a big step. We still didn’t know what Cyrus’s deal was and I was still talking to him. Not to mention the fact that he knew nothing about our relationship yet. What were we going to do when he did? We shouldn’t be basing our relationship decisions based off what Cyrus would do, but didn’t we have to? Why did everything have to be confusing?
Regardless, that was a big moment of our night, so much so that once we got back to Jay’s, I realized what his big surprise was. The surprise being we were going to do exactly what I’d been waiting for. As much as he’s been wanting to wait for it, I knew he wanted it too. That fight he’s put on wore itself out and I couldn’t be any more excited.
Kissing all the way up to his room, he closed the door before climbing onto his bed with me. I couldn’t help but laugh as the whole ordeal was happening. He picked up on my laughing, joining in with me.
“What’s so funny?” He wondered, holding on to me.
I shake my head. “I’m wondering what changed your mind,” I say.
He chuckled. “Let’s just say, I wanted to leave you with a reminder of what you have back home.” He winked at me.
I bit my lip before continuing to engage in our kisses. His tongue slipped into my mouth deepening the moment. My hands explored his hair, one of my favorite parts of him, before moving down to take off his shirt. He followed suit, slipping my dress off of me before we both were completely unclothed. Jay told me he didn’t want to have just mindless sex, which is why I made sure this didn’t feel that way.
Instead of him dominating me the way he only knew how. We made sure we moved as one with him on top of me. He made me whimper with every slow thrust he gave me. His hands interlocked with mine as he trailed his lips around my neck and collarbone. The attention he paid to every crevice of my body made this feel 10 times better. He wasn’t just doing this to make us get off, but to make us feel good. And I must say, I felt damn good. He treated my body like a temple and that was more than I could have asked for.
This night was special for us. Though as special as it was, this was the night we made quite the mistake.
