Book 2: Chapter 62
**Chapter 62 **
"I can't believe he let you use his car!" Bradyn screamed.
Everyone ended up staying over since the house was big enough for it. We had a pretty wild night with all the drinking and eating we did. The house admittedly turned into a mess which we left the men to clean up. Jay didn't mind but the others weren't too thrilled about that. They didn't have a choice in the matter since I got to call the shots. I also wanted to spend time with the girls alone without having them around for a change.
More importantly, I wanted to show Kira the building Jay got for our bakery. Maybe do a little persuading to get her to move here. That wasn't in our game plan when we first started talking about opening up a bakery. However, the building Jay picked out was infinitely better with more high-end clientele around. Of course, if she says no it won't be a problem but considering both of the people we are involved with live here it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Driving, I laugh at Bradyn. "It's not the first time I've driven his car." My lips form a smile. "It's the first time he let me without him around though."
"That's it, your relationship is set to forever," Kira chimed in.
They were all crazy. "I'm sure she's not dating him because he lets her drive his car you dope." Thankfully Twila was sensible.
Kameron also tagged along with us. "No, but that is huge." She added. "I was no competition to you after all."
That part was true but it's not like it mattered. Jay was never going to leave me for her as crazy as he is. Kameron was such a stunner but Jay was loyal to me. It was ridiculous how silly I was being about the whole thing. All because I felt guilty about my situation with Cyrus. Now that it was no more, looking back was comical. I'm lucky Jay even stuck by me through all of that. He was a saint.
Pulling up to the building, all the girls except Kameron looked confused. We were supposed to be going to our favorite sandwich place and then shopping for Bradyn and Kira. It was important to show Kira the building because she may like it. I know I did and depending on her answer moving here didn't seem like it would be a bad idea. Jay might get what he wanted after all.
I took the keys and unlocked the doors letting us inside. Immediately, Kira knew what this was, dropping her mouth in awe at the size. The space was a lot bigger and we would be able to be a lot more creative. The only problem was how much money we'd been dropping on our space back home. This time was different since Jay was the one who got it. Losing all that money from the other building would suck. However, being in Sunbury we would make that back and then some.
After looking around Kira's eyes dart to me in utter confusion. "Please tell me you didn't spend more money on another building?" She questioned.
"Jay is the one who bought this one for me," I explain. "What do you think?"
"What do I think? This is amazing!" She gushed.
Twila agreed. "It's in the heart of Sunbury too," she smiled. "Perfect for garnering attention."
She wasn't lying when she said that. The amount of business we can generate would be insane. People would pay good money and leave amazing tips with how wealthy people are in Sunbury. I'm confident enough in my baking to know we would be a hit. The smart thing would be to come here with almost guaranteed success. The answer was a no-brainer but Kira seemed a little on the fence about it.
Her lips pursed as she crossed her arms. "I don't know, A. We'd be leaving a lot behind in Greendale." She was hesitant. "Particularly me."
"That's fair and it's not like we have to do it," I say. "It was just a suggestion because...well I think I want to move in with Jay."
They all looked at me shocked. "You're going to do it!" Bradyn exclaimed.
I laugh. "It's not a big deal. We live with each other already." We indeed did. "Besides, I'm not doing anything until Kira makes a decision. Our business is more important to me."
It wasn't my intention to put pressure on her. It's true that if she decides we do business in Sunbury instead I would move in with Jay. My family is already fully prepared to make the move, especially Summer. I didn't want Kira to think she had to say yes just because of that. She would be leaving her family miles away just to finish what we started. If we take off it'll be hard for her to see them as frequently as she may want. I wanted to be fair to her and not just go based on my own needs.
Kira appreciated that staring intently at the ground. Her mind was racing a mile a minute trying to think of what to do. The pros and cons were endless. The decision was far from an easy one to make but I knew she would choose the right thing. Financially, Sunbury was the right option. For more practicality, Greendale would be the way to go. It all depends on what she was looking for.
A smile formed on her face as she sighed. "Well, Twila I hope you have room for me at your apartment," she winked.
I took that as a yes. "For real?" I questioned with excitement.
Her head nods as we were all happy about what's going on. It felt like such a rush hearing her say she was down for this. Not only because I thought it was the right choice but because I'd have to tell Jay that moving in was a go. Something I previously didn't feel ready for was going to happen. It felt like our relationship could finally get more serious. We didn't have to hide anymore. This was it!
Screaming in joy, we immediately got to discussing more ideas for our bakery. The only thing we were missing was a name. Kira and I didn't exactly discuss it properly but leave it to Kameron to come up with such a cute idea. If she kept spewing out ideas she was going to become our ambassador. When people find out she has a hand in this they'll surely come flocking.
"You need something catchy," Twila thought.
"And different." Bradyn also was thinking hard.
Kira groaned. "What's something that no one already has?" She questioned, pacing around.
I was at a loss for words but Kameron, the genius that she is, came up with a great idea.
"How about Batter Up?" Kameron suggested. "You know like cake batter."
That left us to think about it for a moment until I realized how smart and cute that was. It made perfect sense for us to call it that and the analogy behind it made it all the more better. People were bound to be drawn to us with that name alone. For all the shit Kameron put me through, she sure has been useful. Maybe doing more shoots with her would be a good idea after all.
The girls loved the idea too and were surprised she came up with it. We all had a bad perception of her when we first met. Lately, she's been hanging around us more and the girls were a bit weary of that. Kameron already apologized to me so there was no need to worry. She never planned to do anything malicious. We were somewhat friends now after that whole debacle.
They couldn't stop themselves from questioning her though.
"The name is great but I'm a little confused about something," Kira crossed her arms. "Since when do you want to hang with us?"
Twila couldn't stop herself from jumping in. "You seem more like Jenna's type." She would know. She was around them for a period.
"Not to mention how mean you were to Autumn," Bradyn inclined.
Kameron sighed, not expecting them to press her. "To be fair, I'm more so hanging out with Autumn than you guys," she was always honest. "But you guys are pretty cool too."
Leave it to Kameron to be so honest about what she feels. Indeed, she was mainly hanging out with me as we built this weird relationship. However, my friends were a part of me and she was going to have to be used to being around them. They were adjusting to her being here as well. She was quite the bitch for the better half of this trip. Her behavior did a 180 making them a little on edge of whether they could trust her or not.
Giving her the benefit of the doubt, they were willing to let the past be the past as long as she stays the way she is now. For peace, this was the best route for them to go and we could continue on our day of fun. There was still shopping to be done and the sandwich shop called my name. Everything was starting to get underway for a lot of different scenarios. I don't want to sound like I'm happy about it, but maybe ending things with Cyrus turned out to be the right choice.
Putting all that aside, we closed the shop back up to finish our fun mini vacation. Jay would be so thrilled when I told him we could officially move in together. The house we looked at while house hunting seemed like the perfect fit. That was the home to start our journey as a couple and I couldn't wait to see what life had in store for us.
All that was left was getting closure.
