Book 2: Chapter 53

**Chapter 53**

"I don't want to hear any buts, you're coming." Kameron didn't want to hear any excuses.

She had this plan that she wanted to hang out with me for some odd reason. After finding out she wasn't truly after Jay, she wanted to mend our relationship. Only, her way of mending our relationship was doing something she wanted to do. That thing is modeling. Normally, I wouldn't agree to such things but she was dragging me out the door. There wasn't much I could say in the matter to get her to leave me be.

Instead of fighting it, I just played along. Kameron has proved she isn't as bad as she may have seemed. Truthfully, if she wasn't going after Jay anymore she and I had no problems. It was modeling that I was afraid of. Especially next to her. With her long legs and perfectly toned body, I would look like trash. Maybe that was the point of making herself stand out even more. Who knows what she was thinking about inviting me to something like this?

Regardless, we got to the venue and my stomach immediately dropped. People were running around everywhere. From make-up artists to clothing designers. This was for sure up Bradyn's and Twila's alley. They were the designer and the model. If Kameron wanted this to turn out well she should have invited one of them. I know nothing about this world aside from the mini photoshoot we did last year. That was nothing compared to this though.

Gulping, I looked at Kameron completely freaked out. "So, what do I do? Just sit and watch?" I was hoping she said that.

Kameron laughed like I was bugged out. "No, you'll be modeling with me," she said perky.

My face fell. "Excuse me?" I say, ready to panic. "You're joking right?" I laugh it off.

Her face never changed. "Nope, it's happening." She was serious. "Farah wanted me to bring Jenna but she doesn't have the structure that you do."

"Structure?" I wasn't understanding what she was saying. Honestly, it sounded delusional.

"There's a certain je ne sais quoi one must have to be a model," she explained as she walked me over to a chair. "Believe it or not you have it and I want you to at least try it."

That was the first time she complimented me and it meant a lot. Especially knowing she invited me instead of Jenna. I should be appreciative that she thought I could do this. It's not every day that people come up to me and tell me I could be like the supermodels of the world. Kameron being one herself, it's safe to say she knew what she was talking about. How I'd stack up next to her wouldn't be that amazing. However, I was going to take the opportunity to do this with her. It'll be fun to try something new.

Gathering up the courage, Kameron was thrilled I agreed to do this with her. She sent over one of her best make-up artists to get me all glammed up. The hair department styled my hair as best as they could given the length. Finally, they had us put on similar outfits that sparkled like nobody's business. I'm not sure what she was shooting for but everything looked good on Kameron. It looked a bit funny to me since we didn't have the same body type. However, sex appeal was her forte. I can't say I disapprove.

Watching from the sidelines, Kameron looked to be in her element as she moved her body with every flick of the light. I fidgeted around with my fingers afraid to go up there with her when it was time. Inviting me was the worst thing she could do. Especially because I could never look good next to her. Everyone would be staring at her and not me. That blonde hair, blue eye combination was simply unbeatable.

The nerves kept on as I continued to watch Kameron's flawless performance. I almost wanted to pass out when I felt a pair of strong arms engulf me. Looking up, there was my handsome man Jay embracing me. I didn't know he was going to be here so it was a shock. It did help with my nerves seeing a familiar face. Jules also surprisingly accompanied him which is the first time I've seen them hang out together. Either way, I was so happy to see Jay.

Turning around, I hug him back. "Jay, what are you doing here?" I asked him surprised.

"Came to see my gorgeous girl become an even hotter supermodel," he winked. "Kameron invited us."

That shocked me. "She could have warned me but what did I expect?" I roll my eyes before looking over at Jules. "Hey, you! I heard you had a wild night." I was referring to the bachelor party.

Jules laughed, hugging me. "Autumn, you have no idea!" He said.

We laughed as the three of us chatted for a bit. After a few minutes, Kameron walked over to us with a smirk on her face. I wasn't expecting her to invite anyone else on our outing. It was better than being alone with her, to be honest. The guys always were a good time and will help combat Kameron's bitchiness. Although, she's been pretty alright today.

"You guys finally made it," Kameron said with a cross of her arms. "Jules."

"Kameron," he said back.

These two were staring at each other like something was going on. There was tension between them that you couldn't miss. I didn't peg Jules to be her type in the slightest. Not that he was unattractive because he was very adorable. His red hair coupled with his freckles made him quite the looker. Not to mention the striking green eyes he bore. He was tall and not on the muscular side. However, his personality more than made up for it. It's not always about someone's body type and like I've said before; the men in Sunbury that I've met have all been great.

Still, I didn't expect Kameron to have something with him. Not after what she did with Jay. I'm starting to think she truly was just messing with me. But why would she say something like that if she weren't interested? It was hard to read her sometimes. Scratch that...all the time. I should have just listened to Jay.

Clearing her throat, Kameron looked at me ready to pull me on set with her. "Relax it'll be fun. I figured Jay being here would calm you down."

She wasn't wrong about that. "But...look at you. I don't think the photos are going to translate well with me in them." I was not confident about any of this.

"Come A, you got this," Jay encouraged me. "I'll be right here cheering you on."

Jules agreed. "Yeah girl, you're smoking hot!" He complimented.

I laughed but Jay...not so much. "Alright, settle down," he warned him.

His over-protectiveness was too funny but they were right. Plus I was already here. There wasn't much I could do being already dressed for the shoot. So, I followed cautiously behind Kameron and did what she told me. Now and again I'd glance over at Jay who was smiling from ear to ear watching me. It made me feel confident with his moral support. Kameron was also great at directing and I think we got some good shots in. I'm not sure what she was going to use these photos for but it was fun either way. They even got the wind machine to blow our hair for a few of them. I felt like a pop star.

Once we were done, we got to look at some of them and I was amazed. Kameron looked gorgeous but I didn't look too bad next to her. My eyes immediately landed on Kameron though as it was hard not to look at her. My favorites were the ones we took with the wind machine. Our hair looking like it's flowing in the photos was spectacular. This was my second time doing something like this and honestly, it was thrilling.

We got out of those clothes and all of us headed back to Jay's for some more relaxation. It's not how I expected to spend my day, but Kameron was surprisingly a lot of fun. We had more to talk about than I thought. More importantly, I could see us becoming great friends once this was done. Under that hard exterior, Kameron was pretty sweet. If you told me we'd be sitting in Jay's living room having a glass of wine with each other I would think you were lying.

Sitting in front of the fireplace, Kameron and I continued talking while the boys went to grab some dinner. We were talking about a lot and nothing at the same time. I was more curious to know what that energy was between her and Jules. It was unexpected and unlike her.

Sipping my glass, I got down to questioning her. "I don't mean to pry, but what was that between you and Jules?" I wondered.

Her eyes roll. "Figured you'd ask that." She turned her body toward me. "Listen, it's nothing serious but we may have seen each other and I may have slept with him." She took a sip of her wine.

My eyes widened. "Shut up! You're kidding?" That wasn't the answer I thought she would tell me.

Kameron shrugs. "No but can you blame me? He gives a lot of BDE if you know what I mean." She winked.

I nearly choked on my drink when she said that. Leave it to Kameron to be so forward but her honesty was appreciated. Jules was the last person I thought she'd say that about. Their personalities were so different and Kameron seemed to like guys like Cyrus or Jay. They do say you should always try something out of your comfort zone. You never know what you may end up finding. Kameron may have been taking a chance even if she said nothing serious was going on.

Laughing, I understood what she meant. "Okay too much information," I say.

"Oh please, don't act like Jay doesn't give the same." She scoffed. "And I know you can confirm."

My cheeks flushed as I looked away. "Okay, maybe I can." I smiled. "It's not little."

She laughed. "You're funny Autumn," she slides over to me. "You should consider modeling!"

Now I had to laugh. "Kameron, no. I can't do that."

My anxiety was through the roof having to take pictures. I highly doubt I'd ever be able to do what she does. The amount of pressure she has to be under all the time must be draining. That life didn't seem like it was for me. Being in the spotlight had to be great for Kameron. I, however, wanted to stay far away from that. However, taking a picture from time to time wouldn't kill anybody.

Besides that, there was also wanting to have my own bakery. I wasn't giving up on that for anything. That was my comfort zone and something I excelled at. Kira and I were in this together. We were going to see this through. Whether it be at our shop in Greendale or the one Jay got me in Sunbury. Either way, I'll continue to be supportive of her career. More like a fan because who wasn't a fan of Kameron Blake?

"Why not! We would be such a powerful duo!" She gushed.

It was flattering but I couldn't see myself doing it. "It's not for me but I wouldn't mind doing shoots with you from time to time," I admit. "Plus, I'm still focused on opening my bakery once this wedding stuff is over. I won't have time for both."

She didn't agree with me. "You so would I'd make sure of it. Everyone loves a woman of all trades." She had a point. "But I'd settle for photo shoots here and there."

We smiled at each other enjoying one another's company. I didn't think I'd ever see the day when she would want to hang out with me. We were being cordial downing a whole bottle of wine together. I probably shouldn't have been drinking as my stomach just did not agree with alcohol lately. Still, it tasted pretty good and Kameron was fun company. We would have to do this more often.

Talking a bit more, the guys came back after about thirty minutes. It was great because we were both starving by this point. Ending the night off with some good drinks and good company is always fantastic.

"I hope you ladies like Chinese food 'cause that's what we got!" Jules yelled coming into the living room.

That was fine by me as we all dug into our meals. Jay put some kind of movie on for us and the rest of the night was history.
