Chapter 65
Chapter 65
After last night's dates, my mom was over the moon and swooned by Jeremy. He told me he was a lady's man but I didn't believe him. The fact that he seduced my mom tells me everything I needed to know. She was smitten by him as expected! The woman wouldn't stop rambling about how amazing and sweet he was. It was great and all but another hour of this would make my ears bleed.
Luckily for us, we had more plans set as Twila and Bradyn were bringing their moms along for a day out. It's felt like ages since we've last had a girl's day off. With this being the last week we needed to do something fun! The last eight weeks we spent building bonds with one another. A friendship that was sure to last a lifetime. These girls have no idea the change they've had in my life. I would forever be grateful for the way they accepted me like I was one of them.
After my mom stopped gushing about Jeremy, I let her in on a little bit about my friends.
"Twila is just starting modeling and you can tell because she's gorgeous!" Now I was the one gushing. "Bradyn is just as stunning but she's more into fashion designing and cosmetics."
My mom's eyes widened at my words. "You got some heavy hitters as friends," she was excited about that. "It's nice to know they have amazing things going on."
I nod in agreement. "You'll love them, mom. They're both nice girls and truly some of the best people I've met while being here."
It's not every day that you find friends who truly get you. They understand where you come from and appreciate it in the purest of ways. Maybe I was overreacting but everything said was true. I couldn't find anyone better than those two including Kira. I'm one lucky girl to not only find amazing men but amazing friends as well. The things I got out of this trip were more than expected and forever will be etched into my memories.
After waiting, the girls came down with their moms and I was stunned. Twila and her mom were like carbon copies. Dark skin with those beautiful tight curls. They were both tall and had this glow about them you couldn't find anywhere else. Bradyn didn't look like her mom in the face but you could tell where she got all her goods from. I mean all the hips and the ass were insane. It's a mystery to me how Cyrus was not hooked on her. She was spectacular!
My eyes lit up as they reached the bottom of the stairs. "Wow, I'm stunned," looking at them was mesmerizing. That's what money does for you.
Twila's mom laughed, "you must be Autumn." She said with much more excitement than I expected. "Twila has told me so much about you."
That made me blush. Knowing my friends think great things of me was always a nice feeling. It meant even more seeing their moms approve of me being close to their daughters. They could've been like Farah and taken pity on my mom and me. However, I didn't get those vibes from them. These two were genuine people without a judgmental bone in their bodies.
"It's always nice to see fresh faces in Sunbury," Bradyn's mom chimed in. "There aren't many kind people living in this city."
She was right about that. Sunbury was a money-driven town. Some grew up here and have those ways drilled into them. Then others let finally getting money consume them. Regardless of the people, Sunbury was a nice place to live with the restaurants and scenery. As long as you have decent human morals, living here would be like nothing.
That aside, the moms started chatting it up on the way to the black SUV. The girls and I were going to follow suit before Jenna and her posse decided to crash all of our fun. There hasn't been much going on between Jenna and me in a while. She's been keeping her distance from me lately. I couldn't tell if that was a good or bad thing, but the quieter she was, the better.
"And where was our invite?" Jenna crossed her arms looking at me intently.
That puzzled me because we weren't exactly friends. Why would I invite them out anywhere? It was also still awkward after the whole Twila and Sienna showdown. They were on decent terms but nothing where we should all hang out. Ocean was someone I didn't know very well and it was obvious she was Jenna's friend. There would be no budging with that.
With a roll of my eyes, she continued to stare me down before a laugh escaped her mouth. "Relax, I'm not trying to intrude it would just be nice to hang out. The six of us."
The girls and I looked at each other confused. Was this girl serious? This was unlike Jenna to want all of us to hang out together. Plus our parents were coming along as well. What was her game plan and why did it feel like something bad was going to happen? Though there have been only a couple of times we've hung out with all of us. I guess any time is as good as any to put everything behind us. There were only a few days left.
"Why though? This feels weird." Twila said what I was thinking.
Jenna shrugged her shoulders. "Why not? I'm sure our mothers would like to mingle as well."
Bradyn snickered unimpressed. "Yeah ok, Jenna."
"I'm serious there's only so much time left let's party."
I would probably regret this later on but anything to get this show on the road. We agreed to let them join us now needing two separate cars. We let our moms ride in one while we rode in another. My mom was probably wondering where they all came from but there was no time to explain it all. The day was supposed to be a good one and it was going to go as intended.
First, we went shopping around the stores we went to when we first got here. Bradyn wasted no time getting anything she could get her hands on. The girl was a shopaholic. This time I got some things of my own to bring back as souvenirs. I also got my sister this really beautiful dress because she would kill me if nothing was brought back for her. The shopping was fun but not the highlight of the day.
The highlight was going to grab drinks at this little bar. There was music playing and an open space for people to dance. The drinks were expensive but that was to be expected. Though on the pricey side they were delicious! Strawberry margaritas were one of my favorite drinks and clearly, our mothers did as well. The bartender was going to get a nice tip with how much we were buying. Could you blame us though?
After dancing, I went to the bar to get another drink only to be greeted by Jenna. We were away from the group so it would be easier for us to have a conversation. There was nothing for us to talk about however Jenna was going to pull something out of thin air. She was just good like that.
"Two more margaritas please," she ordered for the both of us. The way she looked made me feel queasy. "I've been waiting to get you alone for a while now."
I scrounged not interested in being alone with her. "What for?"
"There's a lot we need to talk about," she paused as the bartender brought us our drinks back. "First your off sneaking around with Cyrus but then you sneak around with his best friend..."
I sipped my drink nervous because talking about Jay was a sensitive subject at the moment. Little did she know he wasn't around any longer. At least for now and there was nothing she needed to know. It was crazy to think about messing around with two people who were so close. Especially in Cyrus' case. He expressed to me that Jay was someone he could trust with his whole being. Yet, I still somehow disrupted that. Once he finds out that would be it but Jenna wasn't going to be the one to tell him. Over my dead body!
"You can't have both of them, it's not fair." She sounded like a child.
I rolled my eyes. "It's not fair which is why Jay and I ended things," there was some truth to that.
Her eyes widen in shock as well as disbelief. "Bullshit!" She yelled. "You're not fooling me."
"There's no need to fool you, have you seen him around lately?"
This time she sipped her drink looking away from me. "Not exactly...but that could be for several reasons."
Saying that wasn't going to get Jenna to back off. It was the only thing I could think of though. That way she would have one less thing against me even if I was lying. Jay was gone and if she wanted proof it could be provided. Not that the note would make my case any better since he left but left with feelings for me. Even just knowing what he said could be enough to get her point across. The chick was determined to have anything against me big or small.
Turning around, I looked at our moms and the other girls having a good time. This was not something I wanted to be dealing with right now. We were supposed to be having fun not continuing with our petty feud. In the next couple of days, this wouldn't have even mattered.
"Reason being things weren't going to work so he left." I was sparing her details because it was none of her business. "Can we just agree that we don't like each other and probably never will?"
She looked at me with her lips pursed, fiddling ith the straw in her cup. I didn't say anything too harsh and it was the truth. We didn't like each other and never would. There was something she wanted that I had and that was not going to change. Since there will never be a friendship we could at least drop this. Cyrus mad eup his mind and she had to live with that. Besides, It's not like I wouldn't be suffering throughout this whole ordeal. I did the one thing that would cost me everything I've built with him. That had to give her some sort of solace.
Finishing off the last bit of her drink, she sighed not giving me a single glance. "You're right, but then again you don't know me very well."

Sorry for the long wait, I promise this story is not abandoned! I was in a bit of a writing funk but I'm back now! Plus, part 1 of this book is almost finished. After this chapter there is 4 more left with a little bonus content and then part 2!!! Part 2 might take a bit of time for me to post as I like to have some chapters ready in advance but it won't be a long wait as I've written some of it already. Thanks for sticking through this with me!
