Book 2: Chapter 66

**Chapter 66 **

Rolling on to our next day of fun, today everyone had to meet at the Hadid home for Farah's weekly announcement. Normally I wouldn't be worried about coming here but this time was different. With everyone divided, there was no telling how this was going to go. I'm hoping there wouldn't be another big scene but we're dealing with some big personalities here. Cyrus was still very much mad at Jay but if he said anything, I doubt Jay would be as nice as he was last time.

Thankfully, the boys weren't here yet. It was just us girls along with Jenna and her crew. Kameron has officially switched sides sitting with the girls and me. Mainly with me since they were still getting used to each other. Despite that, it was nice adding another member to our crew. Especially someone like Kameron Blake. One of the most famous supermodels of our time was friends with us. It was insane just thinking about but that left others quite unhappy.

Jenna noticed the shift prompting her to come over to us. Sienna and Ocean looked over her shit. Especially Ocean as she's usually the one to witness the horrible qualities Jenna possessed. After securing her spot with Cyrus, she still managed to find a problem. The girl will never be satisfied unless I'm miserable. Unfortunately for her that'll never happen.

"So you traded us out for these losers?" She asked Kameron.

My eyes rolled in annoyance. "Aren't you supposed to be over there?" I questioned. The drama was already beginning.

Her eyes turned to me with a fire in them. "I wasn't talking to you, Autumn!" She spat. "You shouldn't even be here!"

"You should get more friends," I crossed my arms. "Maybe if you stop coming into my space I won't have to speak to you."

She laughs sarcastically. "You seem to forget this is my wedding!" She yells. "I can say and do whatever the hell I want!"

I should have kept my mouth shut since she did come over here to talk to Kameron. Her face just pissed me off to no end. She was such a bitch and a half it was hard ignoring her. The things she said were idiotic and very high school-like behavior. It didn't help that she was older than me acting like this. The more words that came out of her mouth the more I couldn't believe that she was chosen to marry Cyrus. How could he even put up with someone like that? Her personality was draining at best.

Kameron assured me to fall back because it wasn't worth it. Plus, like I said, she was here to talk to Kameron, not me. Butting in prematurely wasn't smart on my part. It frustrates me that I always would try to be a friend to her only for her to turn around and still be so nasty. All over a guy that didn't even want her in the first place. If Cyrus dropped everything they had going on the minute I came back then that should've told her it was time to let it go. Her obsession was going to get her nowhere.

"Jenna, you can say whatever you want. I mean, it is your wedding after all." Kameron said before her face changed. "But remember who holds the power here. It's not you, or Farah, or any of the Hadid family members for that matter. It's me."

Jenna's face changed to that of fear knowing what Kameron said was true. Anything she says after this will either make or break this farce. Jenna better play nice with Kameron because she had the power to make the public think whatever she wanted. It was convoluted but Jenna did pick with her first. She was better off staying on her side of the porch. If you're gonna assert dominance at least be good at it.

That was the least of our problems now though as the guys finally arrived as well. This would be the first time all of us were together since the fallout happened. With everyone picking sides, the interactions were less than stellar. My usual group of guys consisting of Jay, Ashton, Wolf, and Jules made their way over to us. While the others went along with Cyrus. Things were normal at first as we dispersed into idle conversation with our respective groups. It wasn't until someone made an underhanded comment that set everything in motion.

Everyone was chatting quietly. My friends and I planning to go on a trip once this was all over. We hear someone very loud and deliberately comment on the situation with Jay. It was very pointed and Cyrus of course had no qualms about it.

"At least you know your new best man won't sleep with your wife and not tell you until a year later." It was so loud everyone stopped talking.

The one who said it was Rob who has been more on the quiet side this whole ordeal. He was speaking with Cyrus who I wouldn't be surprised if he promoted him to say it. The look on his face told me so as he looked over at Jay with a knowing look. That one comment made everything awkward but leave it to our friends to get themselves involved in our mess. It wasn't right but I couldn't control them.

Kira rolled her eyes. "Are we back to this again?" She was very annoyed.

"Well...it's valid to bring up," Sienna jumped in. "They did go behind his back."

Then Kameron stepped in. "Because Cyrus wasn't man enough to get the job done." She shrugged. "Who makes someone believe they're going to be together to then turn into a coward, picking someone they don't even like?" Kameron was also right.

Jenna scoffed, getting defensive of her relationship with Cyrus. "He likes me! He loves me!" She defends.

Wolf laughed. "Whatever helps you sleep at night." He then tries to change the mood but it doesn't work. "How do you sleep at night because my back has been killing me from those beds in the guest rooms."

Everyone sighed at his idiocy but I couldn't help but giggle. I saw that he was trying to diffuse the situation but it wasn't the right tone for that. Everyone was still on edge and rightfully so. Cyrus, Jay, and I put them in this mess. We were all careless with how we handled things. If we're more earnest in our actions everything would be just fine. I do appreciate his effort though.

I rested my hand on his arm, shaking my head with a smile. "Wolfie now is not the time," I warn him.

"Sorry. I thought maybe we could talk about upgrading them or something. I don't know." He shrugs.

Ocean speaks this time also trying to change the topic. "This is stupid. Things were settled already so let's move on." She prompted.

Cyrus didn't want to do that though. "Were they though? Do you feel like they were Jay?" He asked him directly with this taunting look in his eyes.

Jay shook his head trying hard not to get into a negative head space. "Can we not do this? It's already over with."

The tension between those two may never die. What was once best friends were now staring at each other with so much hate. At least on Cyrus's part. The way he looked at Jay was that of a man who had no forgiveness in his heart. Everything about Jay made Cyrus angry. I understood where it was coming from and yet I didn't. He was hurt by my actions but not to this degree. He pretty much forgave me but not Jay. I wondered why that was.

Cyrus wasn't willing to drop it much like everyone else wasn't either. I expected these two to argue about it but not everyone. They had these wild assumptions in their heads that were simply not true. Nothing was done out of malice. Everything between Jay and me just happened. We couldn't control our feelings much like everyone else couldn't right now. It was a tense situation that I wanted to stay out of.

"You stole his girlfriend! Now you want it to be over with?" Stephen piped in.

Bradyn yelled back. "He didn't steal anything. Autumn did not belong to Cyrus." She defended.

Myles also added his two cents. "He already had his eyes on her," he said. "Jay knew that and still proceeded to make advances on what was Cyrus's."

"Just because you have eyes on someone doesn't mean they belong to you." Ashton was calm when he spoke. It shocked me that he spoke up since Cyrus is his cousin.

Nevertheless, I could see the look on Jay's face. He was getting annoyed the more everyone kept bickering back and forth. I couldn't tell what he was thinking with his eyes closed. The vein on his forehead was ready to explode. He was over all the talk about who belonged to whom. He was sick of the yelling and division. We came into this all getting along just fine aside from maybe Jenna and me. One little incident changed the vibe and we were left in this combative state.

Finally having enough, Jay spoke up in the most unexpected way but so him. "Everybody shut the hell up!" He yelled, finally opening his eyes. "What we're not gonna do is talk about *my* girlfriend like she's an object. She's a human being and you're gonna treat her with some respect."

The smirk on my face couldn't be helped as he always goes out of his way to defend me. They weren't even saying bad things about me truthfully. However, I could see how he felt that I was being referred to as an object. The way he always stood his ground when it came to me was such a turn-on. That's not what should be on my mind at the moment but I couldn't help it. Jay was just too hot.

Everyone quieted down as Jay sighed. "I wasn't trying to steal anything from you Cyrus." He argued. "The whole point of me leaving was because I figured you were choosing her. But then..."

"But then what?" Cyrus never dropped his gaze.

"But then you didn't and I took my shot. There's nothing more to it." Jay said ever so casually.

That only angered Cyrus more. "I should punch you in your fucking face again," he threatened.

Jay laughed but viciously. "Last time I let you do it out of remorse but come at me again and you're gonna be sorry." He warned.

"You wanna bet?" Cyrus taunted.

Soon after, they start making their way towards each other as everyone collectively gets in between to hold them back. In our efforts, they were both continuously screaming at each other over our bodies. My heart was racing because this was getting out of hand. I didn't want to see them physically fight but there wasn't much I could do to stop them. It turned ugly and violent so quickly. This was different than seeing them angry. They were both ready to kill each other over something so trivial. Friendship is so important and I ruined it.

They continued yelling at one another when Farah finally showed up to calm everything down. Despite how shitty she was, Jay still respected her a great deal. This was the lady that included Jay in their family when his moms suddenly passed and his father abandoned him. I know he doesn't want to be angry at Cyrus but he also isn't going to keep letting him threaten him either. The situation is as complicated as ever, but just like relationships can be broken; they can be fixed as well.

Appalled, Farah looked at the lot of us disappointed but she mainly focused her attention on Cyrus and Jay. They were the ones fighting after all.

"What is the matter with you two? Do you not know how to behave yourselves?" Her voice was stern shifting eyes between them. "I know you're both hurting but that's no excuse to be acting like fools."

They both looked to the ground in embarrassment. "Sorry." They both say to her.

Her arms crossed, walking closer to them. "Things are a little chaotic right now but you two have been best friends for as long as I can remember." She sighed. "You're both adults and it's time you start acting like it. I mean, are you really going to let a girl come in between a friendship that's already been established?"

Leave it to Farah to slide in a dig at me. As much as it was hard to admit, she was right. They shouldn't let someone like me come in between them. They were friends before I was in the picture and should still be friends now. The situation was tough but if they were true friends like they said, then it should be easy to fix. If they just talk without arguing then they'll be able to get through this.

Silence takes over as neither one would say a word. Farah used words of wisdom for once and it got to them both. The way they were contemplating told me they wanted to fix it but they didn't know how. It's hard to blame them for that considering the circumstances. My heart breaks knowing I'm the cause of their problems. How they can even look at me knowing I broke their friendship apart?

Not saying another word, Cyrus walked off without hearing anything Farah had to say. The look on Jay's face was crushing but telling. I know I shouldn't meddle but if there was any way these two could get it together then I'm going to do it.
