Book 2: Chapter 40

***Chapter 40***

It was finally the day we go dress shopping and it was horrendous! Firstly, Twila still wasn’t talking to us after the argument and Kira having to see her with Sienna was painful. It was very annoying for us to be in the same room as her because of the situation. She wouldn’t believe what we were saying and seemed the most upset at me for whatever reason. While Twila was over there smiling and happy, we were miserable.

Secondly, no one looked like they wanted to be here out of the bridesmaids. It was mainly Jenna trying on dresses that she would like while we sat back and watched. Normally, her mom, the mother-in-law, her best friends, and or any siblings would come to this. Not the whole bridesmaid group. We weren’t getting much out of this, but Farah insisted it happened. The thing I’m most happy about is that we get to have champagne and cheese.

Regardless, I couldn’t stop thinking about last night with Jay. It was annoying that I couldn’t talk much about it. It wasn’t the same without Twila honestly. There’s also the fact that I’m around Jenna and Farah. If they overheard me that would be my ass. But last night was so magical. I couldn’t stop grinning to myself. I don’t think we ever had that much passion for one another. He accomplished his task, I’m definitely going to miss him.

Noticing my demeanor, Kira looked at me with that wicked smirk on her face. “Someone had sex last night,” she whispered.

My face went pale. “How do you always know that?” Kira was good at figuring that out.

She shrugged proudly. “I’m just that good.” She smirked.

“I heard sex and Autumn, I need details,” Bradyn said, sliding her chair over.

I laughed. There wasn’t anything better to do besides wait for Jenna to finish picking out dresses to try on. As long as Farah didn’t hear me I should be fine. Plus, I couldn’t not talk about it with my girls. Especially not when Kira called me out on it already. To get it off my mind I needed to let it out.

Smiling, I grabbed another champagne glass before telling them about my night. All I could remember was how sensual every minute was. You’d think being under the covers would make it gross, but it made it a lot more comfortable. It’s not the first time we’ve done anything, but last night was so perfect. I think it’s because we’re dating this time around. Even though we were still sneaking, we were still a couple in love. Not to mention how amazing his body is. The definition, how rock solid he was really turned a girl on.

Kira and Bradyn swooned once I told them the things that happened. It’s really hard getting anything done when you’re in anything Farah plans. After a few weeks of me being a desperate girl, I finally got an amazing night out of it. It’s safe to say he enjoyed it too. It’ll be a night we won’t ever be able to forget.

“I can’t believe it! You are so lucky,” Bradyn said with a pout. “I wish I could do that with Ashton.”

Kira and I agreed. “With that body, any girl would wanna do him,” Kira said to all of our agreement.

“Yeah, you need to get on that girl,” I say, sipping my glass.

She sighs. “Whenever he would ask me to be his girlfriend, I so would.” She crosses her arms. “It’s almost like he’s afraid.”

“Typical guy, afraid of commitment,” Kira added.

Afraid of commitment sounds about right. He was already worried about asking her on that date. We all had to go for that even to happen. I don’t know what’s Ashton’s deal. Bradyn was clearly into him and only him for quite some time now. If he didn’t buck up, sooner or later, he was going to lose her. That would suck because then Jay and I would have no one to double date with. Those were always fun and made Bradyn and me closer in a way.

Unfortunately, our conversation was cut short once Farah came back. She wanted us ready and attentive for when Jenna came out in her dresses. We were all supposed to vote yes or no to it regardless of what Jenna thought. Then in the end, Jenna was supposed to choose which dress she wanted, but I highly doubt that would end up happening. Then again, Jenna’s mom was here as well so she could get things to go her way this time.

“Ok ladies, here is dress number one,” Farah said as Jenna came out.

The first dress was very white with a long train behind it. Part of the top was lace and made the dress stand out, but it wasn’t any of our favorites. It made Jenna look pure which she was anything but. Though the dress itself wasn’t flattering to her body at all. She had very hard curves that weren’t being utilized correctly. The first dress was a hard no, but we had more where that came from.

“This is not doing it for me,” Ocean says.

Sienna agreed. “Yeah, I think it’s the solid white throwing it off.”

“It just does nothing for your body,” Bradyn added.

Taking that feedback, Jenna went to try on the next dress that was better, but not by much. This dress was very sheer with white stitching all over. The sleeves had the sheer fabric falling down beside her that looked cute. However, the dress looked a little too skimpy for a wedding. Jenna had a lot of attributes if you will. They stuck out like a sore thumb in this dress.

“Oh, now that is just too much,” Her mom said. “You’re getting married not going to a strip club.”

Jenna visibly annoyed, tried on the next dress that she seemed to like the most. It had a grey tint to it and was like a layer of ruffles on the bottom. The top was laced in a flower-like pattern. It wasn’t my favorite, but it also wasn’t my wedding. Jenna loved it and it was her wedding. I think she should get whatever dress she wanted and leave it at that. No matter if we liked the dress or not. It actually complimented her body super well. Of course, Farah, her mother, and a few of the girls didn’t like it much.

“It does look nice on you, but it doesn’t scream wedding,” Twila said.

“This could be an option though, honey,” says her mom.

Jenna looked in the mirror loving it. “Just think about it, with my hair down in loose curls. It’ll be perfect.” Jenna argued.

Farah nodded, but still told her to put on the last dress. Now this one, I could tell Farah picked out from the dress's design. It was white with a mixture of pink in between it. The dress was lace throughout with a solid light pink train behind her. It definitely was the best dress she’s tried on and everyone loved it. Jenna liked it too but felt that’s what people expected her to wear. She wanted to be different and do what she wanted, but her mother and Farah were being impossible.

“Isn’t it perfect?” Farah gushed. “I can picture it now with the plush pink bridesmaid dresses.”

Jenna’s mom nodded in agreement. “It’ll be perfect, don’t you think Jenna?” It’s clear her mom was kissing Farah’s ass.

Jenna sighed, almost like she was afraid to speak. “I…I want the other dress.” She said. “It’s my wedding I should be able to get what I want.” She was right about that one.

Farah looked appalled. “Are you crazy, this is the one,” she argued.

Jenna shook her head. “To you, but what about me?” Jenna questioned. “Mom?” She looked to her for reassurance.

Her mom did not give it to her. “Sweetie, come on, this is the right call.”

Jenna frowned, looking back at Farah. “Let’s put it to a vote.”

Putting it to a vote wasn’t going to work because I knew everyone liked that pink dress. The best outcome would be for Jenna to just put her foot down. Farah is a scary lady, but it’s not impossible to say no to her. The most she could do is throw a hissy fit. Then again, she was sponsoring this wedding. I guess Jenna and her family had some sort of obligation to oblige by her rules.

Interestingly enough, Farah agreed to put this to a vote and it didn’t go how Farah thought it would. Farah, Jenna’s mom, Sienna, and Bradyn voted for the pink dress. While Ocean, Kira, Twila, and Jenna voted for the grey one. The only one who didn’t vote was me. I didn’t want to get caught up in this mess. I had a trip to be packing for tomorrow and this was taking up a lot of my time. Personally, I didn’t give a shit which dress she wore so long as she had one on. Farah wasn’t letting that slide though.

“Well, what’s it gonna be Autumn?” Farah asked me.

I sat up, annoyed. “Do I have to vote? I mean, it’s a dress.” I say not interested.

Everyone nods and I groan. Jenna wasn’t exactly my friend so I could vote against her. She’s never that nice to me and always accuses me of shit I didn’t do. This could be my kind of payback. At the same time, it was her wedding and she should be happy on her big day even though she played an evil game to get to this point. Everyone deserved to be happy on their big day. Oh boy, what do I do?

Crossing my arms, I sighed. “I vote for the grey one,” I say much to Farah’s dismay.

Listen, normally I wouldn’t do anything for Jenna, but it’s not my wedding. If it were I would want to wear the dress I picked out too. The pink one was prettier, but the grey one did flatter her body quite well. Farah could be upset all she wanted. I was going to let Jenna have at least one thing during this whole debacle. It was the least I could do for the woman.

Finally, we were going to be able to get out of there when I saw Jenna at the checkout happy as can be. I walked over to her and her smile dropped a little. She was so excited about her dress that it didn’t matter that we were standing with one another. Despite all our problems, I did prefer it when she was happy. It meant she would less likely be a bitch to me.

Rolling her eyes, she spoke with not such a harsh tone. “You didn’t have to vote for my dress,” she said calmly.

I smile, looking away. “Hey man, it’s your wedding, you should wear whatever you want.” I shrug.

It was small, but she smiled back at me. “Well…thank you.” She thanked me, she really thanked me.

I nod my head, backing away from her. “Anytime.”
