Chapter 66
Chapter 66
The night was still young and I wasn't planning on spending it alone. That's why as soon as we got back I went straight to Cyrus' room. My life was about to change completely. I was going to go from having nothing to having everything anyone could dream of. Although the nerves were there, the excitement was even greater! Who would've thought my life could be so grand?
Knocking loudly on his door, I stood there patiently waiting on his arrival. As usual, he took forever to come to the door. What could he possibly be doing in there? He didn't have much in his room no offense. Plus, we had a deal about the shower in that he couldn't without me! It was a bit of a stretch but his bathroom was beautiful! Like it was made for two people to occupy it.
Cyrus was taking so long, that I grew frustrated and lost the last bit of alcohol in my system. Of course, by that time, he showed up but not in his room. Cyrus was standing next to me surprised but with a silly grin on his face.
"You weren't what I was expecting tonight," he sounded elated to see me.
I narrow my eyes at him. "Where have you been?"
He chuckled, "with my dad, ironically." Cyrus opened his door for us to go into his room.
As soon as I got in, I kicked my shoes off and made myself comfy on his bed. I groaned with delight as Cyrus watched undoing his tie. It was adorable how he would look at me sometimes. Staring into his eyes I could see how much he appreciated my company. Whether it be for a few minutes to a couple of hours, he loved having me around and I felt the same way.
After undoing his tie, Cyrus walked over to the edge of his bed where I met him sitting on my knees. We didn't say much before his lips met mine ferociously. Before we knew it, his shirt buttons were coming loose as we deepened the kiss. His shirt went flying off and he laid me against the bed with him on top of me.
Although this felt amazing, this wasn't what I came here for. It was hard to fight the urge but honestly, I just wanted to spend quality time with him. Sex can happen any day any time, however, quality time wasn't something that you can get at a moment's notice.
We stopped, looked at each other, and laughed. It was moments like these that drew me to him even more. Everything about us was so natural yet fun.
“Sorry about that,” he said getting himself back together. “I missed you.”
A smile spread across my face looking at him joyfully. “I missed you too even though someone hasn’t been seeing me much!”
He rolled his eyes playfully. “Hey, that hasn’t been my choice lately,” he explained. “I’ve been busy. Shit is getting real.”
I could hear the worry in his voice when he said that. Things were getting real. He was going to have to choose someone to be with. Potentially for the rest of his life. Potentially with me! Not only that he was taking on a role that I’m sure has been passed down for generations in his family. If anything were to go wrong he would be deemed a failure. There was a lot on the line and a lot of decisions to be made.
Cyrus laid back with his hands covering his face. I could only imagine the stress he was under.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Here I go with my questions.
He peaked at me through his fingers. “What do you mean?”
“I mean with everything, this life that was passed down to you without actually asking you what you want.” I was sticking my nose in places it shouldn’t be but I didn’t care.
Sighing, he put his arms behind his head not making much eye contact. “Doesn’t matter what I want, it’s what it has to be.”
“It’s smelling like a lot of bullshit, Cyrus and you know it!”
“Why must you always do this to me?” He questioned staring into my eyes.
There wasn’t anything I was trying to start with him. If he couldn’t voice his opinions to them then he could to me. His life was mapped out for them the moment they found out they were having a boy. Farah disregarded anything her kids wanted to do in favor of what she wanted them to do. Cyrus was going to step down from his duties, but at least he could get off his chest what he’s been feeling this past week. It wasn’t much but at least it was something.
He sat back up almost like a light bulb went off in his head. “No, this isn’t what I want to do but to be frank, I don’t know what it is I want,” he was opening up to me finally. “Your job should be something you love not something you feel obligated to do. Right now, I want to explore my options and forge my path but my mother will explode if that were to happen. It’s like she doesn’t even want her kids to be happy just robots.”
“Are you happy?” I asked feeling like he was going to say no.
Cyrus looked at me with no emotion on his face. “To be honest no.”
My heart sank for him. I could tell she wasn’t happy and wished there was something that could change that. He’s been working for who knows how long and things wouldn’t stop until his mother stopped. If Cyrus wasn’t happy, there was no telling what Saida was feeling like. Having to put out this perfect image for the world while your silently suffering has to be hard on a person. My heart was hurting for him. For them both.
Without saying much else, I scooted myself over to him wrapping my arms around him. His body sank into mine with his hands grasping at my arms. The most I could do for him was show him that I was there for him. At least he would know he could come to me with whatever he needed to get off his chest. Everyone needs at least one person who would listen.
He chuckled to himself squeezing my arm tightly. “But, you know when I started to feel happy again?” This time he questioned me.
“When?” I smiled already knowing his answer.
“The moment I laid eyes on you,” he kissed my forehead making me blush.
“For someone who isn’t happy, you sure are a sap!” I joked around to make the air a little lighter at least.
Cyrus grabbed a pillow tossing it at my face. I giggled falling back on the bed before hitting him with it. Despite my jokes, it was a great feeling to make someone feel alive. When nothing else was going how he wanted, he always had me to cheer him up. Cyrus and I were made for each other despite our differences. There was no one else like him. At least no one exactly like him.
He stood up before lifting me as well. “Alright, let’s go do our favorite thing,” he said walking to the bathroom.
“Yay! Shower time!” I scream like a little kid.
Cyrus laughed, “you’re such a baby!”
“Excuse me for enjoying your shower more than you!” I untangle myself from his arms racing to turn the shower on.
“No, I’m just used to it that’s all,” he had a point there. “Besides, I was threatened to only shower with you. Even though I’ve been showering alone anyway.”
I cross my arms over my chest glaring at him. “And whose fault is that?”
He laughed. “Mine.”
“Exactly!”
We stripped down hopping in the shower together. There may have been a little making out, but that was to be expected. Feeling myself against his body was always a nice feeling. It was the body of a Greek god and was all mine to enjoy. My hand had a mind of its own rubbing up down from his torso to his chest. Cyrus didn’t seem to mind as his hands explored my body just as much if not more. We were such greedy pigs!
After we finished showering, I borrowed one of his shirts laying in his bed this time with the blankets over us. Of course, we snuggled up against each other feeling relaxed. I guess I was staying in his room tonight not that it mattered. Though it’s been a while since we’ve had a sleepover!
Cyrus ran his fingers through my wet hair breathing ever so lightly. “You know in a few days you’ll officially be my girlfriend,” I can tell he was smirking.
My fingers did a little dance on his chest. “Officially…time has flown by.”
“I can’t wait, I’ve been waiting for this for eight weeks now!” He was more excited than expected.
However, my mind could only think about one thing. “You’re mom is going to lose it!”
He groaned not interested in hearing that. “Too bad because I want you. Nothing else,” he said confidently. “You have no faith in me.”
I laugh looking up at him this time. “It’s not that I have no faith, your mom holds a lot of power over you.”
That got a nod out of him. “Yeah, but not about this. This decision is strictly mine and mine alone.”
Every time this was brought up I got this uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. Something told me things weren’t going to be as black and white as he expected it to be. Regardless, my hopes were high and soon we would officially be dating. No more secrets, no more lies, and unfortunately no more Jay. It would be us like I expected it to be from the beginning. As long as Jenna stays out of the way!
Cyrus loved his forehead kisses as he planted one on me before closing his eyes again. “Goodnight my love, I’ll see you in the morning.”
I smiled resting my head on his chest. “Goodnight, Cy.”
