Book 2: Chapter 46
**Chapter 46**
My mom was still on his high after Jeremy's proposal. She couldn't stop smiling or looking at her ring. I couldn't blame her for the ring because it was gorgeous. Jeremy definitely outdid himself with that one. However, the most jolting part was simply seeing my mom so happy. If her smile grew any bigger her face would surely get stuck like that.
Despite her overt happiness, the three of us went out for breakfast to have some time together. By the three of us, I mean Summer, my mom, and I. It's been a while since we've done anything together just us three. We've been so caught up in Sunbury that neither of us took the time to do anything together while here. It's safe to say that they both loved it here and everything Sunbury had to offer.
"I'm literally dreading going back to Greendale." Summer whined. "It won't be the same."
I had to agree with her there. "No, but at least you've made some good memories." I tried to give her some solace.
Summer's eyes roll. "Memories. That's what I wanted." She folds her arms. "Can't we just move here?"
That startled my mom. "And leave everything back in Greendale?" She pondered. "I don't know Summer."
My mom being cautious didn't surprise me. She spent her whole life in Greendale not to mention the memories she's created back then with my dad. It would be hard for her to just let those things go without giving it a lot of thought. Unfortunately, the experiences my mom had in Greendale did not translate for her children. Summer and I didn't exactly have friends and didn't enjoy our time there in the slightest. Moving to Sunbury may be good for Summer. Especially now that she has Saida.
On the contrary, they did just buy a house last year. Though it may be easier for Jeremy if they did move to Sunbury. He still worked for the Hadid's and all that commuting had to be hard on him. Mostly because he drove at the pace of a snail but Jeremy would agree to anything my mom wanted to do. He was the ultimate simp for her.
"Besides Dad, there's nothing in Greendale that I'll miss." Summer was honest. Then she looked at me. "Come on Autumn, you agree right?"
Sighing, I do agree with them sharing some news of my own. "It would be a nice change of pace for all of us," I said. "And I've kind of been asked to move here myself."
My mom's eyebrows scrounge. "By who if you don't mind me asking."
"Jason..." I gauze her reaction as I trail off.
She didn't seem upset about it but weary. Jay and I did go through a period of not talking to one another. It lasted an entire year before he finally came to find me again. We were in a much better place over the last few weeks, but that isn't to say things can't come crashing down at a moment's notice. Once Cyrus finds out my relationship with the both of them it could be ruined forever this time. Jay does seem very adamant about us though and he hasn't waved his feelings yet. It's a big decision to make either way. Especially when you don't know how you're going to pull it off.
Despite knowing about Jay, my mom sat back in her seat. She looked at me like she wanted to give me advice but she didn't want to seem too coddling either. Any advice from my mom would be good advice. She knows me better than anyone else while also knowing how this stuff works. Anything she said I wouldn't take to heart. Plus, she'll still let me make my own decision in the end.
"That's a big move, A. Not saying you shouldn't do it but it's still a huge decision." She sipped her coffee. "And I haven't got the chance to fully meet this kid yet."
I laughed. "That's fair and could always be arranged." I agreed. She hasn't met him in any capacity other than seeing what he looks like.
"I'm sure you'll like him, Mom. You like everyone." Summer interjected. She did spend a day with us before.
My mom's eyes roll. "I do not like everyone. Thank you very much." She focused back on me. "Still, you've built a life up here A. It wouldn't be out of the realm for you to make the move. I just want it to be the right choice."
Shrugging, I sipped my coffee still deciding what to say to Jason about this. Part of me loved the idea of living with him. We practically live with each other now. It's been smooth sailing since I've stayed at his house. We both enjoy each other's company and then some. All my friends, except Kira, lived here as well. There were more pros than cons to moving to Sunbury. My nerves stem from Cyrus not knowing a thing about anything still. It was still too up in the air for me to make a choice.
That didn't stop me from convincing her to bring Summer here as well. "In that case, I think it'll be great for Summer to come here too."
Summer perked up. "I could even go to school where Saida goes and take part in their dance program." Someone's done their research.
"But what about back home? You're friends there." My mom was still on the fence.
I scoffed. "Please, Summer doesn't have any friends back home. She's too mean." I argue.
That made my mom laugh and Summer threw her napkin at me. Our mother was going to use every excuse in the book to not move here. Summer better be lucky I was willing to help her. I saw the changes she's made since getting over the stint with Jeremy. Even before that, once she started hanging out with Saida, her world did a 180. I don't want to call it a dependency, but Summer looked to Saida for comfort, and moving to Sunbury wouldn't be much of a change for her.
Besides, there was so much more to do here than it would ever be back home. My mom would never be bored and Summer will always have something fun to do. Plus with our connection to the Hadid's, they'll have access to things most people can't. My mom was the only one that needed to get on board. Starting a new life in Sunbury is the last thing I expected out of us. Yet, it felt like the right thing to do.
Thinking on it some more, my mom ran her fingers through her hair. "We'll see. Let's get through this wedding bullcrap first."
"That means yes," Summer said with a smile.
My mom shook her head. "That does not mean yes. I said I'll think about it." In other words, yes.
Whenever she said that it meant that she was going to say yes. It was only a matter of time before we made the jump. Why not jump now?
We finished eating our breakfast on our fun mother-daughter day before heading back to the Hadid home. It was always fun spending time with my mom and sister. We used to do this all the time back at Greendale only we couldn't go anywhere fancy like this. My relationship with these two meant everything to me. We were close as close can be and I couldn't imagine living in a world without them.

Later that evening, I found myself pondering around with the girls. We finally had Twila back so it was nice sitting up in their rooms with each other. Kira didn't completely forgive her yet, but she was willing to start again with her. It would only be a matter of time before you can't separate those two. It was just nice having Twila back into the mix. We weren't the same without her.
Speaking of Twila, we still didn't understand what happened between her and Sienna. She didn't exactly explain to us what went down. They kind of just stopped talking and left it at that. At least from our perspective. Knowing Twila, there was a lot more to the story than them simply stopping their romance. If you could even call it that.
"Did you guys just break up or what?" Bradyn asked her. She was always getting to the nitty gritty.
Twila laughed. "We weren't dating to break up." She reminded us. "And no it was more to it than that."
"Ok, so spill the beans then!" I yell at her.
We all gathered around her as Twila explained to us what happened. It didn't surprise me that Sienna was doing exactly what I thought. Which is using Twila because she was jealous she didn't find anybody to move on to. You would think she wouldn't have those conversations out loud knowing Twila could have been listening at any moment. Sienna wasn't that bright of a girl though. I liked her, but her actions were wrong and simply out of spite. It definitely wasn't an I told you so moment, but I told you so.
Twila shrugs. "After hearing that, I made the decision to stop whatever we had going on because it wasn't going to go anywhere." Then she blushes. "And I couldn't stop thinking about Kira even though that means nothing."
Kira blushed now as well while Bradyn and I smiled. Their connection wasn't something you couldn't find with anybody. They were made for each other even if it took one of them longer to realize that. With the past being behind them, they were now able to focus on their future. I couldn't wait to see the babies they'll have.
Bradyn gushed at the sentiment. "We're just so glad to have you back!" She was excited. "I thought you were a goner for sure."
Kira laughed. "My question is, what was it like hanging out with them?" That was a good question.
"Yeah, they can't be more fun than us." I was intrigued to hear about this.
Twila's eyes widen. "It was utter torture," she admits. "They are like the worst people to be around all together. Especially with Kameron here."
We laughed some more before hearing a knock on the door. Bradyn didn't hesitate to answer it. I'm surprised anyone was looking for us. Normally no one would knock on their door so late at night. Though when we saw who it was I wanted to puke. Of course, she was looking for me too. What a coincidence.
Kameron stood in the doorway eyeing me down. We didn't exactly like each other, but that didn't mean I wouldn't entertain her shenanigans every now and again. That still didn't explain to me what she wanted, but she stood there eyeballing me with a frown on her face. Whatever she was doing, she was not happy about it.
"You, Autumn, this is for you." She says holding a piece of paper.
I walk over to get it, confused about what's on it. "This is an address." I had no idea what was going on.
Kameron looks disinterested. "Yeah, go to it." She said with an attitude.
Now the girls interjected. "You want her to go to some strange address this late at night?" Kira asked her like she was stupid.
Usually, I would think nothing of it, but they had a point this time. It was late and I had no idea where this place was located based on this address alone. Kameron wouldn't be the type to set me up in any sort of way. At least I hope she wouldn't do that to me. We didn't like each other but that was overkill. Even though she definitely had the money to do exactly that. She wasn't much of a mastermind. I'm giving her too much credit.
"At least let us go with you," Twila suggested.
Kameron frowned. "No!" She yelled. "Go alone and don't say I never did anything for you."
With that, she walked away not sparing any of us another glance. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go see what this was about. She said I couldn't say she never did anything for me. That could only mean it's a surprise of some kind. But what?
