Logan's Bad Timing

“Sure, Annie. If that’s what you want, then it’s what I want.”
“Are you sure about that?” Annie asked softly.
“Yes, I’d rather be in your life as a brother cousin than not in your life. And if I have a chance to be with Giselda too, how can I say no?”
“I–”
“Annie, who are you talking to?” Logan asked.
“Gerry and Osprey,” she immediately answered.
“Gerry?” Logan said stiffly, making me groan as he opened our link.
‘What the fuck, Osprey?! I thought you were going to kill him?’ He linked.
‘None of the women I love wanted him dead. Neither does Giselda. No matter how much he hurt her,’ I linked back while Annie spoke to him.
‘I don’t like this. What were they talking about?’ He continued to question me.
‘She was trying to convince him that he should let her go and be with Giselda. How does Giselda feel about him?’
‘She still loves him but I am not sure if she will ever forgive him,’ he told me. ‘She’s dating Milton and she’s trying really hard to make it work.’
‘But can he really be enough for her?’ I inquired.
‘I don’t think so, but she’s doing her best to convince herself that he can be.’
“Logan, who are you linking?” Annie asked, cutting off our conversation.
“Osprey. Alpha business?” He immediately answered.
“Uh-huh, alpha business,” Annie and Gerald said at the same time.
“Annie, I’m sorry. I was just worried. I can tell you have been crying and I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t him that upset you. I am sorry, but I had to be sure.”
“You could have just asked me,” she responded quietly.
“I know. I just– I don’t know. This whole situation just replays in my head. I worry about it,” he admitted.
“Why?”
“Because I know you are with me but I know what he means to you. I can't help but worry if he came back into your life if you would choose him,” Logan confided.
“Oh, Logan,” Annie whispered seconds before the call ended.
“FUCK!” Gerald roared. “What in the hell was that? Are you trying to torment me?”
“No. I had no idea that he was going to walk in,” I said as I walked back to the chair to sit down. “Were you serious about trying to earn Giselda’s forgiveness?”
He groaned. “I didn’t lie to Annie about wanting Giselda, Osprey. We can’t all have the perfect life.”
I stiffened. “You think my life is perfect? Scarlett and I went through hell! But never once did I ever think about not being with her,” I snarled.
“Whatever! I know you know you looked at other women! You can’t tell me that you have never looked at another female and thought about how it would feel to have them wrapped around you!”
I jumped to my feet with my hands fisted. “I NEVER WANTED ANOTHER FEMALE!” I yelled. “I NEVER LOOKED AT ANOTHER WOMAN AND WANTED HER! IT’S ALWAYS BEEN SCARLETT FOR ME! YOU KNOW THAT! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT! MY LOVE FOR HER HAS NEVER BEEN QUESTIONED! AND I WON’T FUCKING ALLOW YOU TO SAY SHIT ABOUT OUR RELATIONSHIP!”
“Pfft. Whatever! I know your relationship with Elena is not just that of an alpha and beta! I see how close the two of you are!” He snapped, straining against the vines that held him onto the bed.
“Elena? Just because you fucked one of my sisters doesn’t mean I’m interested in doing the same thing,” I growled.
“She’s beautiful isn’t she? Perky breasts and long legs. Bet you had a taste of her before you marked Scarlett and she marked Beanie. Don’t even pretend like you haven’t. How was she? Was she good? Did you tickle your balls while she gagged on your dick?” He taunted ne.
I sighed deeply, pressing my fingers into my eyes to keep from beating him to a bloody pulp for saying that about me and Elena.
“I never touched or even wanted to touch Elena. I knew Scarlett was my mate before she was even born. So, how about this, Gerald? You stop lashing out on me and we can discuss how to reset your mind so that you can have a chance to love Giselda the right way. I know you want to and I know that she wants you too. And more than that, I know Annie wants you to be happy. Why are you trying so hard to fight what’s right? Do you really love Annie that much or do you think that she should only love you?”
“It’s none of your business! How I feel about both of them is private,” Gerald said.
I narrowed my eyes on him for a minute before nodding. “Alright. I guess I will just let you sit here and think about everything for a few days. I’ll be back in a few days. Maybe by then you will have made up your mind about what you want to do. I didn’t keep you alive because we’re brothers. I Kept you alive because Annie is my sister, Scarlett is my mate, and I have a deep respect for your fated mate.”
“SAY HER NAME! IT’S GISELDA!” He screamed behind me.
I turned to look over my shoulder at him. “Why? You don’t even care about her enough to do what you have to do to be with her. I know her name, but to be honest with you, Gerald, you don’t deserve her. You don’t deserve to say her name, hear her name, or even be her mate, but I’m offering you a chance to become deserving of all of that and more. I just wish that you would wake up and understand the chance I’m offering you. Annie already said that she wanted you to be in her life. She wants to see you happy with your mate, who just so happens to be her best friend and her mate’s beta. What’s it going to take to make you see that I can help you? That your mistakes from the past do not have to determine your future?”
“What do you know about my future, choir boy?” He asked bitterly.
“I know that if you don’t accept my offer, you die. I know you don’t want to just like all the women you care about don’t want you to. I know if I heard it in Annie’s voice then I know you heard it too. Giselda is suffering. Let me help you so you can love them the right way.”
He sighed. “And how exactly do you think you can help me forget about how I feel about Annie? Huh? Tell me, Osprey? Do you think you can really make me not love her?”
I turned back around, leaning against the wall as I studied his face. “I don’t know if I can make you stop loving her,” I admitted. “But I think I can help you curb it long enough to give your relationship with Giselda a fighting chance.”
“How would you do that?”
“Well, for starters, the Vine Keepers would give me serum that would make your feelings easier to manage while we worked on rewiring your brain. I promise that if you trust me with this, I will not let you fail,” I told him.
“And what if I do?” He inquired.
“You won’t,” I answered confidently. “What’s it going to be, Gerald? Are you going to let me help you or are you going to keep acting like this and lose both of them?” When he didn’t respond to me after a few minutes, I sighed, turning around to leave. “I’ll see you in a few days.”
I walked out the door and as I was pulling it closed behind me, I had him pulling at the vines.
“OSPREY! OSPREY! WAIT!”
I pushed the door open again to meet his eyes. “Yes?”
He sighed as he lowered his eyes. “I want her. I want Giselda.”
