Reprogramed?
Gerry
Kraven made me roll over and I hit the floor hard. I grunted as my eyes flew open, surprised to find myself in the cabin unrestrained. I rubbed my chafed wrists, irritated that I had no idea what was going on. I pulled myself to my feet before cautiously walking out of the room, looking in every direction for someone to jump out and attack me. When I made it to the kitchen without being assaulted, I eyed Osprey.
“Hey, Gerry,” he said before holding up the pot of coffee. “Want some?”
I hesitantly sat at the table facing him. “Sure.”
He poured me a mug before sliding it carefully over to me, and lifting his own to his mouth while he studied my face. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m not sure. I don’t feel any different,” I answered slowly.
“Interesting,” he mumbled as he tilted his head. “What do you remember?”
“I remember being strapped to a bed and told that I needed to leave Annie alone.”
As soon as her name entered my mind before it even came out of my mouth, my stomach rolled, threatening to make me vomit as guilt and repulsion filled me.
“How do you feel about Annie?” He asked, emphasizing her name.
“I don’t know. I–”
I jumped up to run over to the sink to vomit up a bunch of bile as the urge grew until it was overwhelming me. Osprey came over to pat my back while I continued to dry heave into the sink, gasping for air as the acid burned my chest. Every time Annie crossed my mind, I gagged again, trying to expel my very organs out of my mouth. Once I had calmed down enough to talk, I glanced over my shoulder at him.
“What did you do to me?” I whispered.
“Nothing. You got sick. I’ve been taking care of you,” he smoothly responded, making me even more suspicious about what he did to me while I was sleeping.
“Then why do you keep asking about Annie?” I gagged, my stomach clenching.
He shrugged. “You kept talking about her in your sleep. I just wanted to know why.”
“I don’t know. Why does the mere mention or thought of her make me want to vomit?” I inquired, my body threatening to make me upchuck again.
He patted my back again before moving back to the counter to pick his mug up. “Talk to me, Gerry. Why did you start sleeping with Annie?”
“I…”
My voice trailed off as I tried to think about why I had gotten into a relationship with her in the first place, but I wasn’t so sure anymore. I thought I was in love with her, but I knew I wasn’t. I was feeling the total opposite about her. The thought of touching her was making me physically sick. I put my hands flat on the sink's edge before closing my eyes.
“I wish I could tell you, but I can’t. How I thought I felt about her is not the case. I thought I felt something for her that I don’t feel anymore,” I admitted, not sure why I was speaking to him about it in the first place.
“And how do you feel about her now?”
“I kind of never want to see her again. I am so disgusted with myself for everything that happened. I knew better. I knew she was innocent and I took advantage of that. I wish I would have never gone down that path. I just want to forget it happened.”
“Interesting. Would you apologize to her?” He asked.
“Yes. I would beg for her forgiveness.”
“For what?”
‘For being a shitty brother. Wait! Since you know what happened, does the rest of our family?” I questioned him.
“No. Just me, you, Annie, and your mates,” he answered.
“Giselda,” I whispered, biting my lip a little as her gorgeous face filled my mind, making me wonder how in the hell had I ever chosen Annie over her.
“Yes, Giselda. How do you feel about her?” Osprey asked.
“Mine!” I growled, my eyes flashing as I spun around to glare at him. “Where is she?”
He held his hand up. “First thing first. How do you feel about her? Like truly feel about her.”
“I want her!” I told him, my voice wavering with anger at his avoidance of telling me where she was. “Give! Me! My! Mate!” I hissed, leaning across the counter to get in his face, making him raise his eyebrow at me.
“I do not have her in my back pocket, Gerry. I will tell you where she is, but we need to finish our conversation,” he said calmly.
“WE’RE DONE!” I yelled, slamming my hand down on the table. “I WANT MY MATE! TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!”
“You’re not going to get anywhere with me, talking to me like that. So, I suggest you sit down and converse with me like a rational person.” When I opened to respond furiously again, his aura came out and Kraven immediately sat down in a chair, huffing angrily, but obedient. “Now, Gerry, are you sure you want Giselda?”
My eyes flew to his, narrowing dangerously on him. “And who am I supposed to want, Osprey? Annie?” I scoffed.
“If I tell you where she is, what do you intend to do?” He continued to pester me with questions.
“Apologize and beg for her to give me a chance. There’s nothing else that I can do. I have to be with her. She’s my mate. We were meant to be together,” I said bitterly.
“And what are you going to do if she rejects you?”
My body went cold before I shook my head, desperately trying to erase the depressing thought. I didn’t want her to reject me, and I would do anything to make sure she didn’t.
“She can’t reject me, Osprey. I can’t live without her. You have to help me. Please. I’m begging you. I’m so sorry for everything. Please, just help me,” I begged.
He studied my face for a moment before nodding. “Alright. I’ll help you, but if you mess up, I will hunt you down.”
“I won’t, I swear.”
“She is in Havana. With Annie and Logan,” he told me slowly, watching my face closely.
My heart sank. She was with Annie? And that meant only one thing. I was screwed. I needed to talk to her alone, but if Annie was there, there was no hope for that.
“So, what are you going to do, brother?” Osprey asked.
“I’m going to get my mate, and pray that she listens to me,” I answered.
He grinned at me as he lifted his mug to his mouth to take a sip. “Well, what are you waiting for?”
“Absolutely fucking nothing,” I chuckled giddily before hurrying out of the cabin.
After stripping my clothes off to let Kraven out to take us to Havana, he shot off toward California, running at full speed before stumbling to a halt.
‘What is it?’ I asked worriedly.
‘I can’t fucking believe this!’ He growled back.
‘Believe what?’
‘He messed with our memories!’ He roared inside my head.
‘So what do we do?’ I inquired as he began to paw angrily at the ground.
‘We go get our mates. The plan stays the same.’
