Sneaking Around
Giselda positioned me on the inner chair before taking the outer chair. I wasn’t going to complain. It was better for me to have such a domineering female beside me. It just meant that Alphas and Betas in the room would be more attracted to her. I could get away with hiding in the shadows. The less noticeable I was, the less people would want to be around me. A large angry bear shifter stormed into the room, turning off the lights as he moved to the front of the room. He went to the computer at the front, clicked a few buttons, and a video began to play on a descended projection screen.
“Pay attention. You will have a quiz after the video,” Professor Xavier snapped.
I laid my head on my arms as I watched the video. After the first half an hour of listening to the man on the video describe how to tell the difference between fear, anger, and anxiousness. I groaned as I turned my face into my arm. I already knew all of this. It was pointless for me to be watching it. My link opened up, and warmth filled my head.
‘Hey, sweetheart. How is your day going?’ Gerry asked me.
‘It’s boring. I already know all of this stuff,’ I answered.
His chuckle soothed my frustration immediately. ‘Well, do you want me to distract you?’
‘How would you do that? We’re in different buildings.’
The image of me lying naked filled my head, and tears crept up in my eyes as I closed them. ‘Gerry…’ I whispered.
Arousal filled my mind as the view of my body changed. I let out a loud exhale as his gaze continued to move down my body, making me groan loudly as his arousal began to bleed from our link to fill my entire body. When my arm spasmed, my head dropped onto the desk, causing a loud bang. Gerry pulled back, chuckling as Giselda glanced at me while the professor paused the video.
“Miss Parker! Control yourself!” He growled loudly.
Giselda stood up, glaring at the professor. “Watch how you speak to her!” She snapped.
He pressed a button on his desk, and the lights turned on. “Who do you think you are speaking to, Miss Rona?”
“You cannot speak to Annaria like that!” She snarled.
“Please enlighten me as to what makes her so special,” Professor Xavier said as he approached our table.
“My Alpha…” Giselda started before fading off.
He glanced at me before nodding. “Miss Parker, excuse yourself to the bathroom, and we will continue when you get back.”
I gave Giselda a curious look before scampering out of the room. I ran down the hall to the bathroom, where I hurried inside to take care of my little problem. When the door locked behind me, I spun around as my heart threatened to beat out of my chest. Gerry smiled at me.
“Hey, pretty girl,” he murmured.
I threw myself into his arms. “Gerry! That wasn’t fair! You got me in trouble! The professor was so angry at me!”
He bared his teeth at me. “What did he do?” He growled.
I pulled back as fear filled me. “Gerry, you’re scaring me,” I said tearfully.
He raised his hand to my face. “I’m sorry, baby. Listen to me. He shouldn't have said anything to you. Do you want me to talk to him?”
“No. I shouldn’t have said anything. He was just being my professor, Gerry,” I whispered.
He put his forehead against mine. “I’m sorry, Annie. I shouldn’t have done that to you. I just wanted you to know how much I wanted you.” He pressed his lips against mine. “How about I apologize and tell you why I’m here?”
I nodded. “Why are you here?”
“To see you. I had a break between classes and wanted to come see you.” His hands moved down my sides to grip my ass. “I missed you.”
I melted inside as I leaned against him. “Oh, Gerry.”
He captured my lips in a passionate kiss that had my knees going weak. I wrapped my arms around his neck to keep myself balanced as I got on my tiptoes. He used his grip on my ass to lift me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he carried me over to the sinks. He pulled back to place his forehead against mine.
“I really want to make love to you,” he murmured huskily.
I wiggled my panties off before pulling my dress up. “We have to hurry. My class is waiting for me.”
Before I had even finished my sentence, he was thrusting inside of me. I moaned softly as he filled me up. He thrust into me furiously, speeding us both toward orgasm. The feeling of being locked in the bathroom while two dozen people waited for me was unlike anything else. I ran my fingers through his hair as I devoured his lips in a heated kiss that matched his thrusts.
“Annie! You feel so good!” He moaned, pulling back to push my face into his neck. “Bite!”
I bit into his neck, struggling to keep Marsha from truly marking him. He jerked as intense pleasure filled me, making my pussy clench around his throbbing cock. He turned his face into my neck to bite into my mark, causing the waves of my orgasm to grow stronger.
“Gerry!” I panted.
He chuckled into my neck as he slowly pulled out of me. “Annie?”
“Yes, Gerry?”
“I didn’t like how we parted this morning,” he admitted.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
His hand lifted to cup my face again. “I sent you into a building where there weren’t a lot of females without the scent of a male on you.” He pecked my lips. “Now, you have the scent of a male on you. You will be safer. The males here will sense that I’m a higher Alpha, and—”
I shoved him backward as I hopped off the sink. “Mission accomplished, Gerry,” I said, barely managing to hold back tears.
I quickly grabbed my panties before hurrying to the door to unlock. I was grabbed around the waist and lifted up. He turned me around to grasp my chin tightly in his hand.
“Annie, you don’t understand! You asked me not to kill anyone for messing with you.” He put his forehead against mine to look into my eyes. “I love you so fucking much, Annaria. If one of those wannabe Alphas even looks at you, I can’t promise that I won’t lose control. You are my mate. You are my Alpha Sow. And one day, you will be the mother of my children. I don’t want to lose you, and that means to anyone. You are mine.” He closed his eyes before opening them again. I swallowed hard when Kraven looked at me. “Annaria Parker, you’re already my mate. We want you to be our wife, too,” he told me.
My heart fluttered as I stared into his eyes. “Kraven?”
He kissed me deeply before pulling back. “I don’t know. I’ll see you at home,” he said grumpily.
I stood frozen against the door as he climbed through the bathroom and was gone. I didn’t move until someone knocked on the door.
“Annie?” Giselda called softly. “Are you alright?”
I shook my head before pulling the door open, smiling brightly at her. “Yes, I’m okay. How are you?”
“I’m fine.” She walked into the bathroom, and when she turned toward me, I saw her eyes flicker to the blackness of who I assumed was her bear. Her nostrils flared for a moment before she smiled at me. “Professor Xavier asked me to come check on you. He wants you to take your quiz before lunch. Everyone else is already at lunch.”
I nodded before running back to class while Giselda inhaled deeply behind me. I quickly completed the quiz and handed it back to Professor Xavier before heading to the cafeteria inside the building. I smiled at Giselda when she waved to me.
“HEY, ANNIE! I GOT YOU A PLATE!”
I hurried over to her, trying my best to ignore the whispers all around me. As soon as I sat down at the table, one of the larger males came up to us, smirking while he inhaled deeply.
“So, you’re Annie,” he said. “I was wondering if you were taken, but now I know you are.”
“I-I am sure that I don’t know wh-what you’re talking about,” I stammered.
He inhaled again, his nostrils flaring widely. “Smells like Gerald.”
I cleared my throat before squeaking, “You know Gerald?”
“Everyone knows Gerald,” he told me as he sat down next to me. “So, tell me, Miss Parker, are you serious with him? Or is there room for another?” He asked, running his fingers up my arm.
I moved my arm away from him. “Don’t touch me,” I whispered, lowering my head.
“So, it’s serious then? Does that mean that he really didn’t kill Katie?”
My mouth dropped open, and the bite of steak I had taken fell out of it. “What?”
He picked up a piece of my steak before popping it into his mouth. “Didn’t you hear? Katie killed herself last night, and Gerald’s scent was all over the hallway.”
“I heard that he was seen leaving her apartment last night,” another boy said as he dropped into the chair on the other side of me. “He sure does have a type.”
I flushed but didn’t respond.
“I wonder if he’s sad at all that his girlfriend of 3 years offed herself. I wonder how long he’ll be with you before he slips back into his ways. He never was one to stay faithful.”
When he reached for my food, Giselda grabbed his wrist and bent it backward, easily snapping it. “Leave her food alone. Better yet, why don’t you just leave her alone.”
The boys rolled their eyes but got up to walk away. I lowered my head more as I slowly ate. I had so many conflicting emotions rushing through my body. I was elated to not have to hide that I bore Gerry’s scent, but I was devastated by what the boys had said. Had Gerry really dated Katherine? Had he lied to me about everything? Was he involved in her death? I tried to discreetly wipe a tear off my face as realization hit me in the face. I had been upset last night after seeing him with Katherine. I had stopped our lovemaking. What if she was who he was talking about in our shower? The only thing that helped me believe that he wasn’t involved in her death was the fact that he was next to me all night. I hesitated for a second as Marsha grew abnormally silent.
‘What is it?’ I asked her.
‘Nothing.’
‘Marsha, tell me.’
She sighed. ‘He aura’ed us last night.’
‘Are you sure?’
‘Yes. I was drowsy, and I couldn’t shake it,’ she told me.
I groaned as I laid my head on the table. Gerry must have aura’ed us to remain asleep. I prayed fervently to the Goddess that I was wrong. I didn’t want to think poorly of Gerry, but I couldn’t deny the facts that were in front of my face. Gerry had killed Katherine. And the only reason he had was because I was jealous.
“Oh, Gerry,” I whispered. “What did you do?”
