Jealousy Or Overreacting?

Gerry
I paced angrily out in front of the building where Annie’s program did their classes. Every day for the last three days I had been here, and every day, Giselda had failed to show up. I loathed that I craved seeing her. It pissed me off and made me want to hurt something. No matter how many soon-to-be alphas and betas I fought, my anger was not decreased in the slightest. I was tempted to break into the office again to find Giselda’s contact information. She may not be the one that I wanted for forever, but Goddess, dammit, I was her mate, and it was her duty to serve me. And right at the moment, I couldn’t help but feel like she was purposely avoiding me.
“Beta Gerald? Are you alright?” Molton asked as he slowly approached me, obviously having been warned to use caution when it came to me.
I narrowed my eyes on him. “Have you seen Giselda? Or heard anything about her?” I snarled.
“Giselda? The beta from Havana?” He asked curiously.
“Yes! That Giselda!”
“No. She hasn’t been here. Come to think of it, she hasn’t been here since Beta Sow Annaria has been absent. Is she alright?” He inquired.
I clenched my jaw as I studied his face. Did he have something going on with my Annie too? Was she a bigger whore than I thought? Sleeping around with man after man as if she were a rotating door? A low, ominous growl came from me, making him take a step back, his eyes widening in fear.
“Why are you asking about her? Are you involved with her?” I roared as I reached out to grab him around the neck before slamming him against my car.
“N-no, Beta Gerald. She is to be my Beta Sow, and Alpha Corey has tasked me with her well-being when she is away from you. That’s all. I swear. I would never seek her out for anything else. I swear. Please, Beta Gerald. You’re hurting me,” he said, clawing at my hand.
I glared at him threateningly as I squeezed his throat warningly. “That better be all it is!”
I pulled away from the car before slamming him back against it as my anger surged out of control. I dropped him to the ground as I tried to restrain Kraven from tearing his throat out. Kraven let out another ferocious growl, this time aiming it at me. I rolled my eyes as I pushed back enough to look down at Molton.
“Annie is fine!” I hissed. “Now, back to Giselda! Have you seen or heard from her?” I spat.
“N-no, Beta Gerald.” I turned away in disgust and was about to head inside to the office when his next words stopped me. “She hasn’t answered my calls or texts.”
My blood ran cold as his words echoed in my head, replaying over and over again. *‘She hasn’t answered my calls or texts.’* Anger flew through me again as my entire body stiffened. I spun on my heel, making him scramble backward as my aura came out.
“YOU HAVE HER NUMBER?!” I roared.
“I-I sh-she g-gave it t-to m-me,” he stammered.
I punched my car, shattering the driver’s side door’s window. “WHY DO YOU HAVE HER NUMBER?!”
“It’s for sleuth negotiations. Alpha Corey ordered me to get to know her in the hopes of building an alliance with them in case of an issue. It was only to strengthen sleuth relations.”
“Was? WAS?!” I yelled. “WHAT IS IT NOW?!” I punctuated each word with a kick to his leg. “WHAT THE FUCK IS IT NOW?!”
“GERALD! STOP!”
My arm was grabbed, and I was yanked away from Molton. I was pinned against the car by Corey, who was trying to make me submit to him with his aura. I shoved him away from me before moving to stand back over Molton, my aura wavering dangerously.
“Lose her number. When Annie comes back to school, stay away from her. And if and when Giselda comes back, you will stay away from her too.” I reached down to grab a hold of Molton, pulling him up to eye level. “Your business with the Havana Sleuth is concluded. If there are to be relations built, I will be the one to do it. Do you understand?” I asked, letting my aura out to encompass both Molton and Corey.
“Yes, Beta Gerald,” Molton answered.
“Yes, Gerald, but surely you could have just spoken to me about this,” Corey said as he put his hand on my shoulder. “Eventually we need to discuss this. If something is bothering you, I can only help you if you are open and honest with me. We are a team, Gerald. You have my back, and I have yours. That’s the only way we work. So, please trust me, like I trust you.”
I shrugged his hand off. “There is nothing else to say. Leave Annie alone. Leave Giselda alone. I’ll handle Havana. I’ll handle Logan.”
Corey sighed. “Alright, Gerry. If that changes, I’m here.”
“Thanks, I guess.” I gave Molton one last angry glower before getting in my car and zooming away, heading back toward the cabin where Annie was still tied to the bed.
I spent the long drive back to the cabin thinking about Giselda and why she hadn’t been at school. She might not be the one that I wanted to spend my life with, but she was my mate. She belonged to me as much as Annie did, and she was only supposed to be with me. She shouldn’t be giving any other male the time of day. And the look in Molton’s eyes when he said she wasn’t answering his calls or texts hinted at their relationship being something more. That was something that I wasn’t going to tolerate. He was going to obey me, or I was going to kill him. She was mine, and I needed to keep her that way. Having made up my mind on how to further force Molton’s compliance, I reached for Corey’s link.
‘I want Giselda’s number, and I want it deleted out of his phone,’ I told him.
‘Okay. When we get to the dorm, I will send it to you,’ he replied.
‘And delete it out of his phone!’ I repeated.
‘I will. Gerry, listen, I’m worried—’
I cut the link as I pulled onto the almost nonexistent path that led from the road to the cabin. I got out, tossing my keys in the air, not fully satisfied about the encounter at the college, but at least at peace with it. My legs buckled when pain shot through me, holding me hostage for a moment before my head snapped up.
“Annie!”
I jumped to my feet, stumbling a little as I tried to rush up the stairs while Kraven fought the pain almost coursing through our very blood. Once inside the cabin, I hurried over to the bed, pressing two fingers against the pulse in her throat. I let out a sigh of relief when her heartbeat was slow and steady, beating against my fingers. Another wave of pain crashed over me, sending Kraven into a frenzy.
‘Giselda! IT’S GISELDA!’ He screamed.
I quickly searched through our mind, looking for whatever link we had to Giselda. I thought our temporary mark would have already faded, especially considering that I didn’t seal it with my saliva. Finding the faintest entrance into her mind, I grabbed a hold of it, searching for whatever was hurting her. Realizing it was someone’s aura, Kraven immediately poured ours into her, scoffing at the weakness of the one that was hurting her. When we broke the control on her, we continued to pour our aura into her, speeding up her healing. When my body weakened with how much I was pouring into her, I crawled into the bed next to Annie, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her back against my body. I buried my face in her hair as my body’s exhaustion started to make me drift off. I kissed Annie’s neck.
“I love you, Bannannie. Come back to me soon.”
