Lying to Get to Annie
Gerald
After leaving the cabin, I drove around aimlessly for hours, trying to calm both Kraven and myself down. Hearing Annie basically say that she hated me had pissed me off so much that I almost snapped her neck right then and there. How dare she speak to me like that? I gave that little whore everything she could ever ask for! I gave her a way to have power. I gave her my love. I gave her fucking everything, and she threw it back in my face like it wasn’t good enough. Like I wasn’t good enough for her. But that wasn’t true. She was the one not good enough for me. She would change her tune when I walked in with Giselda. She would realize that I had options too. I didn’t fucking need her.
“Dirty little whore,” I mumbled as I turned onto the college campus to do my daily check to see if Giselda had gone back to school.
I hoped she had returned more than anything today. I had a point to prove, and only with Giselda could I do it. I rolled my shoulders back as I slowed down to avoid hitting the stupid bitches that walked in the streets. My hands flexed on the steering wheel before I honked the horn, making them jump as I wound down my window.
“MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, STUPID!” I yelled at them.
They both flipped me off, grumbling angrily at me as I passed them. I didn’t care about them. They were lucky that I didn’t run their dumbasses over. I turned down the street that the building for the vet program was down, still mumbling to myself about idiotic co-eds and even stupider shifters, thinking that their family names would protect them. I didn’t care about names. If the ignorant little twits wanted to play silly little games, they would win stupid prizes. Even if those prizes were death. I was so consumed by my thoughts that I almost missed Giselda walking down the street. My heart skipped a beat, and Kraven perked up. It was about damn time she came back. I made a u-turn on the street so that I could quickly make my way back to her. I slowed beside her before pulling ahead a little and stopping, winding the window down as she stopped beside my car with her eyes wide.
“Get the fuck in the car, Giselda. I won’t tell you twice,” I growled as I pushed the door open.
She swallowed hard but climbed into the passenger’s seat. I yanked the door shut before speeding away from the curb. She cried out as she was thrown forward, reaching out to stop herself before she slammed into the windshield. I reached across her to grab the seat belt before depositing the end into the lock.
“Where in the hell have you been?” I growled.
“I was needed back at Havana,” she told me softly.
I slammed my hand down on the dashboard. “Don’t leave again! You’re needed here.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her cross her arms over her chest. “Why is that, Gerald?” She sneered. “Did you finally decide to accept me as your mate? Huh? Or am I still just a wet hole to you?!”
I slammed on my brakes hard, causing the car to fishtail for a moment before stopping. I turned toward her with my teeth bared.
“Don’t even act like you didn’t enjoy fucking me, Giselda! There is no way you faked those moans! So even if you are just a wet hole to me, you won’t be complaining because I will make sure you leave satisfied!”
She stared at me for a moment before sighing and undoing her seat belt. She got on her knees beside me as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
“I’m sorry, Gerry,” she murmured. “You are so stressed. What can I do to help you?”
I narrowed my eyes on a tree to my right before pushing her away. “Get off of me! You are just as bad as Annie!” I spat.
“I’m just as bad as Annie?” She repeated. “What do you mean?”
I put my car into drive again before continuing on my way. “She tries to manipulate me too. Using her tears to manipulate me. Just like you’re trying to use the mate bond to manipulate me. If her tears didn’t work, our mate bond certainly won’t,” I told her.
She rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest. “Have you ever stopped to think that maybe I actually care about you? Maybe I actually want to be with you?” She looked away from me to stare out the window. “Of course you haven’t because all you can think about is Annie. Fuck me, and fuck our bond. Right?!”
I groaned. I knew what she was doing, but just like Annie’s tears, the mate bond was making me want to give in to her. I sighed as I reached across the car to take her hand.
“I’m sorry, Giselda. It’s been a rough few days. I have been waiting for you. I have been so worried about you.”
She gripped my hand tighter as she turned back toward me. “Have you?”
“Yes. I didn’t like how our last time together ended. I wanted to make it up to you,” I admitted.
“Alright. I’ll let you,” she told me before putting her head on my shoulder. “Where are we going?”
“To a special place where we can be alone. Well, ish,” I replied.
She sighed. “Will Annie be there?”
I tensed as Annie’s name fell from her lips. “Yes.”
“Is she okay? She wasn’t in school today,” she told me.
“Yes. She’s fine. We are just working on some things.”
“Oh. Maybe it’s not such a good idea for me to come with you then,” she said.
“It’s fine. I know Annie will love to see you. If you’re down for it, Annie has been sleeping with me and other women. She said she wants to make sure that I’m fully satisfied,” I lied.
She lifted her head, and I could feel her staring at me. “You want me to sleep with Annie?”
I brought her hand to my mouth, pressing a kiss to the back of it. “No, Giselda. I need you to sleep with Annie. It’s the only way I can get seeing the two of you together out of my head. Please do this for me.”
“And what do I get out of it?” She asked.
“What do you want?” I retorted.
“I want you to let her go so she can take her place as the Havana Sleuth’s Alpha Sow,” she answered.
“I’ll tell you what, I will agree on one condition.”
“What’s that?”
I turned toward her, smirking. “I want to watch you kill Molton. He has a thing for you, and I don’t like it. You are my mate, and I won’t tolerate anyone but me wanting you.”
She held my gaze as she thought about what I said for a moment before nodding. “Fine, but only if you swear to really let Annie go.”
I ran my eyes down her body, knowing that I was never going to let either of them go. They could beg me for it, and still I would keep them with me. They were my mates, and I was the male. I owned them. They were my property. They just didn’t quite understand that. Not yet, anyway. I pulled my lips back, turning my smirk into a sinister smile.
“Agreed.”
