Giselda's and Annie's Friendship

Annie
I smiled at Giselda as I walked out of the bathroom to see her waiting for me. She had tears in her eyes, and my heart stopped for a moment before I rushed over to hug her, worried that Gerry had said something to her after I left.
“Giselda? Are you alright? Why do you look so sad?” I asked her.
She shook her head as she wiped at her face. “Sorry, Annie. It’s not something I want to talk about.”
She draped her arm over my shoulder as she started to lead me toward our classroom. After a few moments, her fingers caressed the mark on the back of my neck, sending small tremors of pain through me, making me pull away from her. I turned back toward her.
“Please don’t touch me. I don’t like to be touched,” I whispered.
“You’re marked,” she said accusatorily.
I pulled my hair out of my scrunchie, letting it loose to swirl around my shoulders. “I…ummmm… It’s…”
The muscle in her jaw ticked for a moment before she reached out to yank me forward. I uttered a small cry of shock as I stumbled into her. The boys from lunch the day before stood behind me with a pair of scissors in their hands. I stared at it for a moment before I raised my eyes to theirs.
“Were you trying to stab me?” I whimpered.
“We just wanted to see if you were indeed marked by him,” the taller one said, making Marsha push forward to bare my teeth at them.
“Leave me alone!” She snarled at them.
“Come on, gorgeous. Don’t you want a haircut! We could make sure that everyone sees your mark,” he said, smirking at me.
I took a step back as fear started to swamp me. “I-I—NO!”
He chuckled as he stepped forward again to reach out for me. “Come on, you little whore! I want a piece of your hair.”
Giselda pushed me behind her as he lunged toward me again. “She said to leave her alone, and if you know what’s good for yourselves, you would listen to her!” Giselda snapped, letting her aura out.
“Look at this, Curtis! The Havana Sleuth Beta thinking she can challenge two Alphas,” the boy with the scissors in his hand chuckled, making my eyes widen.
Four other boys walked up with their nostrils flaring. I gripped the back of Giselda’s arm as fear filled me again, drawing me back to what was happening in front of me.
“Please, just leave us alone,” I begged.
“No can do, slut! We want to see his mark!”
“GO AWAY!” Giselda said as her aura came out.
The boys chuckled before the one she called Curtis lunged at her. Before he could grab her, another male stepped in between us, landing a well placed punch straight in his face, breaking his nose, and making him land on the floor with a loud thud. The boy in front of us rolled his shoulders back.
“I do believe the lady said to leave her alone. Not only is she protected by Gerald and the Havana Sleuth, but the Realm Sleuth has also thrown our protection into the mix. Whether she becomes the Havana Sleuth Alpha Sow or the Realm Sleuth Beta Sow, she is still untouchable! Now, I would advise you to get lost. You know at this point in time, I have completed my training while you have yet to begin yours. As it stands, you don’t have a chance,” the boy in front of us told the Alphas.
Curtis held his gaze for a moment before storming off. I let out a loud exhale as he turned toward us with his hand held out to me. I eyed it curiously before giving it a brisk shake and letting him go.
“Thank you,” I whispered.
“It’s no problem, Miss Parker,” he told me. “I apologize for not introducing myself to you yesterday, but after you declined my offer to walk you back to class, Alpha Corey told me not to push you. He said to guard you from afar.”
“Guard me? I don’t need to be guarded,” I immediately said.
He raised his eyebrow before glancing at the Alphas, who stood by our classroom door quietly talking. “Sure, you don’t. Anyway, if you need anything, I won’t be far. Not while you’re here. Giselda, I need a word with you after school before you leave.”
“No, you don’t,” Giselda growled at him.
“Actually, I do. I have a message for Lo—”
Giselda lunged forward to cover his mouth, glancing at me. “Fine. Meet me out front, then we will speak.”
He nodded, and she let him go. He walked away before she turned back toward me. “Come on, Annie. We should get to class.”
I walked behind her for a few steps before grabbing her arm, making her turn toward me as my eyes filled with tears.
“Please tell me that they are wrong, Giselda,” I whispered.
“Wrong about what?” She asked hesitantly.
“About being the Beta of the Havana Sleuth. Please tell me that they’re wrong,” I begged.
She glanced at the Alphas, who had all fallen silent to listen to our conversation. Giselda put her hand over mine on her arm as she met my eyes.
“Annie, listen to me. I—”
I pulled away from her as tears started to trickle out of my eyes. “It is true! Being the only two females in the program was just a lie to gain access to me. I thought we were friends,” I cried. “But now I see that was a lie! If this is what it means to be his Alpha Sow, then I definitely don’t want it!”
I walked defeatedly past her only to have her grab my arm, pulling me to a stop. “He’s only trying to protect you! We all want you to be our Alpha Sow. Please, Annie, don’t take my presence as an excuse to turn your back on us. We need you!”
I shrugged her off before wiping my face angrily. “No, the only thing you need is to leave me alone and tell your Alpha that I don’t want to be his chosen mate. I already have one, and I won’t leave him. I’d rather be a Beta Sow with a man I love than an Alpha Sow with a man I don’t even know.”
I spun back around to go into the classroom, walking confidently toward the Alphas, who were all staring at me. Curtis moved closer to the door, challenging my confidence, which immediately faltered as I neared him. His hand moved down to grip his cock through his pants.
“When you get tired of fucking your brother, slut, just say the word, and I will happily let you choke on my dick,” he told me.
I rushed past him as my heart sped up, almost making me miss Giselda’s whispered words.
“Annie, please…”
