Giselda's Role
Giselda
‘Gizzy?’
I groaned quietly as I instantly became alert the moment Logan opened our link. ‘Yes, cousin?’
‘I need you to do something for me.’
‘Okay. You know all you have to do is tell me what you want me to do, and I’ll do it,’ I told him as I sat up in preparation for whatever he asked me to do.
‘Do you still have that sleeping powder from the vines?’ He asked.
‘Yes. Why?’
‘Do you think you could slip some to Gerald?’
“Gerald?’ I repeated as I looked over my shoulder at the sleeping man in question. ‘I might be able to…’
‘Can you try for me? But don’t put yourself in danger. He’s a little violent,’ he said.
‘Ummm, sure. But why? What’s going on?’
‘Annie is awake. And I don’t want Gerald interrupting us while I convince her to come with us to Havana,’ he informed me.
I smiled softly as the thought of my night with Gerry opening up the possibility of a relationship between us crossed my mind. If Annie was out of the way, then he would definitely choose me. And eventually he would love me as much as he obviously loved her.
‘Yeah, cousin. I’ll do it right now,’ I said before mentally kicking myself at the realization that I had admitted to being with Gerry.
‘Okay. Good. Thank you,’ Logan moaned, and I let out a relieved breath that he was too distracted to notice my slip-up.
I shifted on the bed so that I was on my knees, facing my mate. I ran a finger over his chest before bringing my hand back to my body so I could open the pendant on my bracelet that held a small amount of the sleeping powder. I dipped my nail into it before jamming it into Gerry’s temples. His body jerked and his eyelids fluttered, telling me that he was fighting to wake up, but he quickly succumbed to the powder. I sighed happily as I curled back up on his chest, nuzzling into his side while I replayed our night together.
I couldn’t even begin to pretend that I knew how many times I had woken up to him touching me. He had shown me things that I hadn’t even heard of. I was pretty sure some of what we had done was illegal in all 50 states. He had no qualms about anything, and I had been free to explore his body in every way I wanted to. I was shocked that he let me finger his ass, but he seemed to love it, even going so far as to tell me how to do it. I pressed a kiss to his chest. Goddess, he was perfect.
When I had moments of insecurity, he had stopped to kiss every inch of my body, reassuring me that in his eyes, I was perfect. I was sore in all the right places, and I was eager to discover what else he had to show me. If the way he made me feel the entire night was any indication of how it could be between us, I was more than willing to forgive his relationship with his sister. I yawned before pressing a loving kiss against his skin as I draped my arm over his waist.
“I love you, Gerry,” I whispered. “Please, give me a chance to show you.”

Several hours later, I woke up when Logan opened our link again. ‘Gizzy?’
‘Yes, Logan?’ I immediately answered.
‘Stop whatever you are doing and go pack your things. We are leaving in 20 minutes,’ he ordered.
I raised my head to stare down at Gerry, who was still snoring, hinting at still being in a deep sleep. I sighed before happily burying my face back in his neck.
‘Yes, Logan. I will be ready.’
‘Good. Hurry. We have to be out of here before Gerry wakes up.’
I got up to get dressed before going back over to the bed to kiss Gerry’s cheek. “Thank you for the amazing night, handsome. When you wake up, come find me. I’ll be waiting for you to claim me,” I murmured. “I love you.”
I kissed his lips before walking out of the room, double-checking that the door locked behind me. I went to my room and rapidly packed all of my things into my large suitcase. I hadn’t brought much, but I still had to carefully pack what little I did bring. As I tucked my computer into its case, I heard a loud growl through the wall. A loud thud shook the wall between mine and Gerry’s room, causing dust particles to fall from the ceiling while a crack formed.
“FUCKING GISELDA!” He yelled, making me quake with fear.
A door banged open, and I dashed over to the window to peek out, too afraid to step out as Gerry stomped past my room, muttering “Annie” repeatedly. I watched as he angrily knocked on Logan and Annie’s door. Moments later, my cousin appeared in the doorway.
“Where is she? Where is my Annie?” He hissed.
“She is not your Annie! She is mine, and I will not allow you to take her away from me,” Logan spat.
“We’ll see about that!” Gerry threatened seconds before Logan slammed the door in his face.
I hesitantly pulled the door open. “Gerry, is everything alright?” I asked timidly.
He spun around to glare at me for a second before baring his teeth at me. “You!”
“Gerry, I—”
His aura came out, making me wobble as it rendered me unable to move. “I am going to kill your cousin, and you are going to watch!”
He turned back around to kick the door in, immediately stepping into the room while I was forced to watch helplessly as Annie knelt beside Logan, running her hands all over his body before peering up at Gerry with tear-filled eyes.
“What did you do?!” She screamed.
He grabbed her wrist, pulling her up. “What I had to do, Annie. I told you before that I was never letting you go, and I meant it. It’s not my fault you didn’t believe me,” he snarled. He dragged her out of the room while she struggled to pull herself away from him, stopping long enough to narrow his eyes on me. “You will not mention Annie being Logan’s mate to anyone. Or I will come for you too,” he snapped, shattering my heart into a billion pieces before forcing Annie into his car while she begged me to help her, but I couldn’t.
After he pulled out of the parking lot, his aura dropped, releasing me from my spot. I sank to my knees, sobbing hysterically at the realization that he was never going to love me like he loved her. I stood no chance of winning his heart simply because I was Giselda, future Beta of Havana, and not Annaria, the little sister that he shouldn’t love the way he did.
