Fated Mates

I took a deep breath to keep from choking the shit out of her. I held her gaze furiously, knowing what I wanted to say, but I didn’t want anyone to know that Giselda was my fated mate. Before I could say anything to her, Corey put his hand on my shoulder.
“Why don’t you take Annie home, Gerry? I will clean up here and come check on you guys,” Corey said.
I groaned as the realization that I left my car somewhere on the path here hit me. “I don’t have a car, and I don’t want to walk through campus with Annie asleep in my arms covered in blood. People will think I hurt her.”
Corey turned to look at Molton. “Did you drive today?”
“No, Alpha. I was running late, so I ran here,” Molton answered, making me groan.
Giselda sighed. “I have my car. I’ll take you.”
My arms tightened around Annie as I glared at her. “No. Anyone else. Just not you!”
She rolled her eyes. “Get over it, motherfucker! She’s my Alpha Sow, and that fucking trumps Beta Sow!”
“She’s not going to be your Alpha Sow,” I growled, making the weaker males in the room tremble.
“Let her make that decision without your interference, dickhead!” Her eyes softened as she looked at Annie. “You’re just mad that she has already made her choice, and it wasn’t you.”
“She is mine,” I hissed.
“GERALD! ENOUGH! Just let her take you home and be done with it! I need to clean this up before my father gets here!” Corey snarled.
“Whatever,” I grumbled as I stood up.
I looked down at Giselda to tell her to come on and almost groaned when her eyes were glued to my cock. I quickly lowered Annie a little to hide myself from Giselda’s gaze. She raised her eyes to mine, and the arousal in her eyes made me look away from her, swallowing hard.
“Come on. I want to get Annie home and clean the blood off of her,” I said hoarsely before clearing my throat.
She stood, grabbed her backpack, and gestured for me to go to the door. I shook my head.
“You lead. I don’t know what you drive,” I instructed.
She bared her teeth at me for a moment, walking out of the room. I took one last quick look around before following her out. After getting situated in the front seat with Annie on my lap, I glared at her again.
“Just head back to the other side of the campus,” I ordered.
When we got halfway there, I had her pull over by my car. I sat in her passenger seat for a moment with my eyes closed, inhaling the mixed scents of my fated and chosen mates. I groaned before opening my eyes to look at Giselda, who was watching me.
“Giselda, listen I—”
“Don’t. Nothing you have to say to me is more important than making sure Annie is okay. Just take her home and get her cleaned up and in bed. If you want to talk later, my number is 667-2331.” She leaned over to brush Annie’s hair back. “I hate letting her go with you. Logan would be able to help her recover better.”
I hesitated while I stared into her eyes. “Would he let her go when she’s better?” I asked quietly, my fear of losing Annie to death outweighing my fear of losing her to another man.
She sighed as her eyes glazed over a little, letting me know that she was linking Logan. When her eyes cleared, she nodded.
“If that is what she wishes. Unlike you, he’s not going to aura her to force her to do something she doesn’t want to do,” she answered sadly, and my heart ached for the way I was treating her.
I shifted Annie on my lap to reach out for Giselda, who pulled back from me, shaking her head.
“Don’t touch me, Gerald. You had the chance to have me, and you chose Annie. You don’t get to choose me now. Just tell me if you are going to let Logan help her or not.”
I sighed as I wrapped my arm back around Annie.
“Yes, but I will take my car so I can leave in the morning,” I told her irritatedly.
I climbed out of her car and walked over to my car, clenching my jaw when I realized that I had not only left my phone in my car, but I had also left the keys in the ignition. After I got Annie settled into the back seat, I popped my trunk to grab some clothes out of it. I got dressed before pulling out another shirt. I got in the backseat, leaning carefully over Annie to gently lift her so I could put the shirt on her. I didn’t want anyone to see my Annie near naked. I was already regretting agreeing to let Logan help her. When I was done putting her shirt on, I bowed my head to press a kiss to her lips.
“Annie, I’m only doing this because I don’t want you to die. Please, I’m begging you, don’t leave me. I need you,” I whispered against her lips before pulling back to strap her into the car.
Once seatbelted into the driver’s seat, I nodded at Giselda, who started driving down the road again. I took a deep breath before following her. We arrived too quickly at a small human-owned motel just over the border of the sleuth territory. Giselda parked in front of a man who was pacing agitatedly in front of the hotel. I hesitantly parked beside her vehicle, and his gaze instantly moved to me before sliding past me to rest lovingly on Annie in the backseat. He walked over to my window, and I rolled it down, slamming a wall around Kraven when I felt Logan’s aura wrapped strongly around himself. He pointed at a path that went around the side of the hotel.
“Go that way. We have rooms 102, 103, and 107.”
I narrowed my eyes on him, and he held my gaze, tensing up as we sized each other up. When Annie moaned softly behind me, I cursed loudly, jerking my eyes away from his to backup. I quickly drove around the corner before getting out and gently removing Annie from the car. I held her close to my chest as I waited for Logan to open the door for me, making me glad that he hadn’t tried to take her from me. I didn’t want to hurt him, but I would have if he had tried to take her. As soon as the door was opened, I walked past him and into the bathroom, where I growled when I discovered that there was no way I could hold her and get her undressed.
“Let me help you, Gerald,” Logan said as he walked in.
I bared my teeth at him, and he held his hands up.
“Look, Gerald. You obviously don’t like and trust me; I feel the same way about you. But this isn’t about you and me. This is about Annie—”
“Annaria!” I growled, cutting him off.
“This is about Annaria,” he snarled before taking a deep breath while he pinched the bridge of his nose. “We can figure everything else out later. Just let me help you.”
I hesitated before nodding. “Fine.”
I held her while he began to undress her. When his eyes lingered a little too long on her curves, Kraven growled warningly. He looked back at me, frowning deeply, before moving to the bathtub to start the water.
“Don’t even get this twisted, Gerald. She is my fated mate. The Goddess created us for each other. The fact that you have her now does not mean that you will always have her. The only reason I haven’t torn your throat out for being with her is because I know it would hurt her.”
My arms tightened around Annie as I carried her over to the bathtub. I waited until the water rose enough so that she would not touch the cold ceramic. Once she was in the tub, I turned to glare at him.
“Get out! I’ll wash her up!” I hissed.
He narrowed his eyes on me. “I’ll leave, but just know that when she is clean, you will be the one leaving. I can’t tend to her the right way with you looking over my shoulder.”
He walked out, leaving the door wide open while I turned my attention back to Annie. I groaned loudly when I realized that the only shampoo and body wash in the bathroom were large bottles of male soaps. A soft chuckle from the other room told me that he knew exactly why I was groaning. I clenched my jaw as I began to slowly wash my mate up. I would just make sure she thoroughly showered with her own stuff when we got home. After I got her rinsed off, I started the tub draining before getting a towel and picking her up. I carried her out into the main room, where Logan was stretched out on the only bed in the room. I turned away from the bed to move over to the couch.
“You can put her there, but I will just move her to the bed when you’re gone!” Logan said quietly behind me.
I froze as the desire to rip his throat out surfaced again. I turned around with my eyes boring into his. “She needs clothes. She should not be in bed with a strange man naked.”
“I’m her mate,” he scoffed. “I’m not going to hurt her!”
He got up to walk over to a duffel bag, where he grabbed one of his shirts and a pair of his boxers out of it before bringing it over to me.
“She can wear this, and I will have Giselda bring her some clothes when she wakes up.”
I bit back my angry response as I got her dressed under his watchful eyes. When she was fully dressed, I stood up and instantly let out a growl when I saw the eagerness in his eyes. I held his gaze as I leaned back down to brush a kiss over her lips before murmuring that I loved her. As I straightened up, he bared his teeth at me.
“I’ll be back at 7 PM. If I were you, I’d enjoy my time. After this, you won’t ever see her again,” I warned him before leaving the room before I picked her up and put her life at risk by taking her home without the one person that could save her life, since I was unable to.
I made it outside before cursing loudly and turning around. Before I could raise my hand to knock on his door, he pulled it open to hand me a key before shutting it in my face, making me growl loud enough to make the windows shake. I walked back to my car, got a new set of clothes before walking down to room 107, where I quickly showered.
As I was toweling off, a knock on the door drew me to it while I wrapped the towel around my waist. I pulled it open to find Giselda standing outside, very clearly intoxicated with tears in her eyes. She blinked, and my eyes followed the path of a fat tear as it rolled down her face. She raised her head, so I was looking into her eyes.
“Why wasn’t I good enough for you? Why didn’t you want me?”
