Compromising for Giselda
Annie
I yawned as I watched Logan get dressed to go to work. I knew he had meetings upon meetings but I didn’t want him to go. Not today anyways. We had been up late all night, talking about what we were going to do about the whole Milton, Giselda, and Gerry situation. He was concerned that Giselda would leave the sleuth if Gerry kept coming around. He was mostly worried that Gerry would make Milton want to leave the sleuth, which would make Giselda follow him, and I agreed with him. I could see how hard Giselda was trying to love him. If I learned anything about Giselda in the time that I had known her it was that when she decided to do something, she put everything she was into it. During our long conversation during the night, the only thing we disagreed on was who we thought Giselda should be with.
He thought she should be with Milton, because that’s who she was with. He also tried to argue that he was who she chose and that he loved her. All of his arguments fell on deaf ears because I believed in my heart that Gerry had gone back to the boy I knew growing up. That Gerry deserved to be loved by his mate. He deserved to have a chance to make up for his mistakes. I could see it on his face when he spoke about Giselda that he regretted whatever he did. I saw the love he had for her. I loved my brother so of course I was going to advocate for his forgiveness.
We had finally agreed to leave the situation alone, and not pressure Giselda either way. We agreed to support her relationship with Milton and if she decided to try with Gerry eventually, we would support that relationship too. Before we made love and slept, we decided on a game plan to entice Milton to want to stay. While Giselda and Logan were in the sleuth meetings today, I was supposed to ask Milton to escort me to the soccer practice and lay out our plan for him on the way. I was desperately trying to prove to Logan that I could be a good alpha sow for him, but sometimes I thought I was failing him. And this situation was one that I couldn’t afford to fail him on. My chin was gripped before my face was tilted up.
“Annie? Are you okay? Is the baby okay?” Logan asked worriedly. “Are you feeling unwell? I can have the doctor come sit with you.”
I smiled at him as I curled my fingers around his wrist. “No, Logan. I promise that I’m okay. I just got lost in my own little world for a little bit.”
“Are you sure that you’re both okay?”
“Yes, Logan. I was just worrying about today. I’m nervous about speaking with Milton,” I admitted. “I don’t want to let you down.”
He took my hand as he sat on the bed next to me. “You won’t, beautiful. I have every faith in you.” He brought my hand to his mouth. “What are you worried about?”
“I’m worried that I’ve spent so much time showing my displeasure for their relationship that he will just blow me off. I’m worried that I’ve already done so much damage,” I confided.
He cupped my face to tilt my head up so that I was gazing into his eyes. “It’s going to be okay, Annie. I promise. Just talk to him. And I’ll handle Giselda, oaky?”
I sighed as I nodded. “Alright, Logan. You should get to the office. I’m sure Giselda is already there.”
“Are you going to be okay?” He asked.
“Yes. I am going to try really hard not to let you down.”
He pressed a tender kiss to my lips before laying me back down in bed and tucking me in. “Sleep, my love. I’ll link you when it’s time to get up. Okay?”
I groaned. “You don’t have to baby me, Logan.”
“I know I don’t but I want to.” He lowered his hand to my stomach. “You need all the rest you can get. When our cub gets here, you’re going to be busy.”
“Say it again,” I whispered lovingly.
“Our cub,” he said slowly before capturing my lips in a passionate kiss that left us both breathless. “Our cub, Annie. Yours–” He placed his hand over my heart while his other one put my hand over his heart– “and mine. Ours.”
I sighed dreamily. “I’ll never stop loving the way that sounds.”
He chuckled before standing up and kissing my forehead. “Sleep, baby. I’ll be down the hall. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
I watched him walk out of our room, completely in awe of the man that was my mate. He had made so many changes to ensure my safety. He moved his office to the floor our bedroom was on in case I needed him for anything and so he could watch over me while he worked. I snuggled down into the blankets, burying my face in his pillow. Goddess, he was the perfect mate and he was all mine. That’s what made me so sad about this whole thing. Gerry would make a great mate too for Giselda. I just wished she would give him the time of day. I knew he could make her happy. I smiled softly as I inhaled Logan’s scent. Not as happy as Logan made me, but pretty damned close to it.

‘Annie, sweetheart. It’s 4 o’clock. It’s time to wake up,’ Logan’s soft voice filled my head, slowly waking me up.
My face immediately broke into a grin. ‘Do you think you can sneak away?’ I asked cheekily.
He groaned. ‘I wish I could, my love. I would love to feel your pussy wrapped around my dick.’
My face heated almost immediately. It was exciting to hear the desire in his voice, but it was more arousing to hear him describe what he wanted to do to me. I loved being the only female that he wanted. It was amazing. I sighed as I got up out of bed.
‘Tonight, Logan. Be a good alpha, and I’ll let you cum wherever you want.’
He groaned again. ‘You know you shouldn’t make that promise, baby.’
‘Why not?’ I inquired breathlessly.
‘Because you will have my cum dripping out of every possible hole.’
My breath whooshed out in a rush, making him chuckle. No matter how many times he said that very line to me, it didn’t lessen how much it affected me. I quickly put my shoes on before trudging out of the room, stopping in the doorway of his office. I smiled around at everyone, even Ryan before smiling at Milton.
“I hope you can forgive my intrusion, but I was wondering if I could steal a beta for protection while I was out, Logan,” I said just like we planned.
“Of course, Annie. Take Milton. I require Giselda’s presence here.”
Giselda turned her to give me a warning look while her mate got up to come over to me. I smiled at him before walking over to kiss Logan’s cheek.
“Thank you.”
He grabbed my hand, pulling me back for a deeper kiss. “Be safe, Annie. I love you.”
“I love you, too, Logan.”
I rested my hand on his face for a moment before stepping away from him. I led Milton out of the room, almost groaning as he fell a few steps back. Everytime I slowed down to talk to him, he slowed down too. I rolled my eyes. He was making this difficult. I pretended to stumble and he hurried to my side to help me balance myself. I sgave him a wavering smile.
“Thank you.”
“My pleasure, Alpha Sow Annaria.”
I sighed as I shook my head. “Family calls me Annie, Milton.”
“But I’m not fami–”
“Yes, you are. You’re who Giselda chose. She means a lot to me. I know that I haven’t been the most supportive and for that I apologize. I was being selfish and I just want you to know that I won’t be nasty to you anymore.”
“It’s okay, Annie. I understand.”
I patted his arm. “I wanted to talk to you about something. When Logan took over, his father’s gamma gave up his role in the sleuth. He had no children or anybody to take his place. Logan and I have been going over everyone in the sleuth, and we have both come to the same conclusion,” I told him.
“What conclusion is that?” He asked.
“That no one is as perfect for taking on the responsibility of being gamma as you are. You have been through the training. So, Logan and I were wondering if you would be willing to take that on for us? You would be in complete control of training our warriors, scheduling patrols, and every other aspect of sleuth security.”
When he didn’t answer, I got anxious. Logan’s lonk immediately opened and he pushed peace through it, helping me to relax a little.
“Are you asking because you feel guilty about how you acted over mine and Giselda’s relationship?” He questioned.
“No,” I lied smoothly, thanks to the amount of times Logan made me practice. “You’re the best man for the job.”
He sighed as we continued to walk to the field where I knew my favorite sleuth members would be waiting for me to show up. Finally, he nodded.
“Alright. But you don’t have to do this. I’m not going anywhere,” he said.
I beamed at him. “Thank you!”
“Mhmm.”
I touched his arm. “No, really, Milton. Thank you,” I told him sincerely before jogging into the middle of the field to start practice. “Are we ready, team Havana?”
The kids all started cheering and I clapped my hands excitedly. “Alright, guys. Today we are protecting the goal. We all need to be able to do it. Let’s get started…”
