Chapter 28

Chapter 28
As the truth began to surface, the internet was flooded with apologies from those who had previously condemned Fernandez and Anna. They quickly shifted the blame to the first broadcasting station that had published the news, claiming they had been misled.
"We were duped!" one commenter wrote. "We had no idea the story was false. Please forgive us, Fernandez and Anna!"
The broadcasting station, desperate to save face, issued a public apology to Fernandez and Anna, admitting they had made a grave mistake. "We were deceived by Mr. Alex of Smith & Co," they said in a statement. "He brought us the story, and we failed to verify its accuracy. We apologize for any harm caused."
But they refused to take full responsibility, revealing that Mr. Alex of Smith & Co had been the one to bring them the story. "He was the mastermind behind this whole scandal," they claimed.
The woman who had worked with Alex was promptly fired and handed over to the authorities for defamation. Alex, realizing the gravity of his mistake, went to Fernandez's company, fell to his knees, and begged for forgiveness.
"Please, Mr. Fernandez, forgive me!" he cried, his voice shaking. "I was blinded by my ambition. I didn't mean to hurt you or your wife."
The media swarmed around him, eager to capture his confession. Alex, his voice trembling, revealed how he had tried to get close to Fernandez's wife, how he had orchestrated the whole scandal. "I was jealous of your success, Mr. Fernandez," he admitted. "I wanted to bring you down. But I realize now that I was wrong."
He expressed his gratitude that Fernandez had only bankrupted him, and swore never to engage in such deceitful behavior again. "I'll do anything to regain your trust, Mr. Fernandez," he promised.
But Fernandez was unforgiving. "You'll do anything?" he repeated, his voice cold. "You'll do anything to save your own skin, you mean."
Fernandez blacklisted all the broadcasting stations involved, and they were forced to come to his company daily, pleading for pardon.
Meanwhile, Jason, Anna's ex-boyfriend, was still oblivious to the truth. He continued to badmouth Anna, claiming she had cheated on him with multiple men. "She's a slut," he said to his friends. "She'll sleep with anyone."
But as he spoke, he noticed no one was listening. They were all staring at him, their faces filled with pity and amusement.
"Dude, shut up," one of his friends said finally. "You don't know what you're talking about."
"What are you talking about?" Jason asked, confused.
"Check your phone, man," his friend replied. "You'll see."
Jason's eyes widened as he scrolled through the headlines. He couldn't believe what he was reading.
"Anna is Fernandez's wife?" he stuttered. "But...but I thought..."
His friends began to mock him, and Jason's face turned bright red with shame. "You're such a fool, Jason," one of them laughed. "You had no idea what was going on."
Jason quickly left, his tail between his legs. From that day on, he made sure to keep his mouth shut, afraid of becoming the laughing stock of the town once again.
Chapter 29: A Tense Morning
Anna was absolutely tired with everything that had been happening. She couldn't believe that Fernandez was such a cruel person. The statement he was supposed to have cleared immediately was prolonged, and he made sure to make them suffer.
Anna hated how everyone came to know she was Fernandez's wife. And that was not even the only thing that was irritating her. Fernandez had also shifted all her things into his room, and she was forced to sleep in his room. But Anna made sure to put a divider between them at nighttime.
As they woke up, Anna could feel the tension in the air. She got out of bed and began to get ready for the day, her movements swift and angry. Fernandez watched her, his eyes narrowed.
Here is a rewritten version of the scene:
Chapter 29: A Tense Morning
Fernandez blocked Anna's way, his eyes gleaming with amusement. Before she knew it, she was pinned down by him to the bed.
"Let me go!" Anna shouted, hitting his chest and trying to push him away. "You're a monster!"
Fernandez smirked at her, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I can do everything I want with you now, without a divider," he said, his voice low and husky.
Anna's face reddened with anger. "I'll sue you for harassment!" she threatened, her voice trembling with rage.
Fernandez chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. He leaned in close, his breath whispering against her ear. "You can't escape me, Anna. I own you now."
Anna shuddered, her skin crawling with disgust. She managed to wriggle free and ran to the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.
But as she emerged from the bathroom, she realized she had forgotten to bring a towel. She tiptoed to the front door of the bathroom and checked if Fernandez was inside the room. To her relief, he wasn't.
She quickly tiptoe out and got into the bedroom, but Fernandez was waiting for her. He had hidden beside the closet and now emerged, his eyes ogling her naked body.
Anna was caught off guard and screamed, quickly covering her private parts with her hand. "Pervert!" she shouted, her face reddening with anger and embarrassment.
