Chapter 82
Chapter 82
Anna breathed a sigh of relief as she nestled into Fernandez's arms, her body relaxing against his solid chest. Despite his cold demeanor and their complicated marriage, she felt safer with him than with the obsessed madman.
As she gazed up at Fernandez, she noticed the people in black standing behind him. But her attention quickly returned to the comforting warmth of Fernandez's embrace.
Exhaustion claimed her, and she slowly settled deeper into his arms, her breathing slowing as her eyelids drooped. The rhythmic beat of Fernandez's heart lulled her into a peaceful slumber.
Fernandez's gaze softened, his eyes lingering on Anna's serene face. He gently shifted his hold, cradling her closer as he began to walk towards the parked car.
His expression hardened with each step, his jaw clenched in restraint. The bruise on Anna's cheek ignited a burning rage within him.
As he reached the car, he carefully settled Anna inside, ensuring her safety before closing the door with a soft click.
His face transformed, his eyes flashing with icy fury. The aura surrounding him became almost palpable, sending a shiver through Cat and her team.
They bowed their heads, unable to meet Fernandez's piercing gaze.
Fernandez's voice dropped to a low growl. "Burn the whole place down, Cat. Leave no stone unturned."
Cat nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, sir."
One of Cat's men opened the door for Fernandez, who slid into the car, his movements deliberate and controlled.
Anna stirred, her head shifting uncomfortably on his legs before settling into a peaceful pose.
Fernandez's gaze drifted to Anna's face, his eyes flickering with a strange emotion. Her fragile, pale skin and the bruises marring her body stirred a deep-seated protectiveness within him.
For a moment, his mask slipped, revealing a glimmer of vulnerability.
"I will never let you go out of my sight ever again." he whispered, his voice barely audible.
Anna's gentle breathing filled the silence, her trust in him evident even in sleep.
Fernandez's eyes never left hers, his expression softening.
"Sleep, Anna," he whispered. "I'll keep you safe."
"Drive safely," Fernandez instructed while the driver nodded and responded.
"Yes sir."
The car's engine purred to life, and they glided into the night, leaving the darkness behind.
Fernandez's phone rang, shrill in the quiet car. He swiftly silenced it, ensuring Anna's peaceful slumber remained undisturbed.
He glanced at the caller ID; Reena's name flashed on the screen. He sighed inwardly, anticipating her inquiry about Anna.
As the car pulled up to Antonio's mansion, the driver hastened to open the door for Fernandez and Anna. Fernandez carefully lifted Anna into a bridal carry, cradling her close.
Anna remained unconscious, lost in deep sleep, as Fernandez carried her into the mansion.
The servants, including Alexandra and Reena, anxiously awaited their arrival.
Reena's eyes sparkled with relief as she beheld Fernandez and Anna.
"Ann..." she began, but Fernandez swiftly raised a finger to his lips, signaling silence.
Reena nodded, understanding, and stepped aside.
Fernandez carried Anna straight to their room, Reena following closely.
As they passed Alexandra, Reena's gaze narrowed.
"You're lucky she's safe," Reena whispered, her voice laced with venom. "Or else I wouldn't have spared you."
With that, Reena trailed after Fernandez.
In the bedroom, Fernandez gently laid Anna on the bed, ensuring her comfort.
Reena lingered by the door, her eyes fixed on Anna's serene face.
Fernandez exited the room, phone in hand, and dialed the family doctor.
"Dr. Lee, it's Fernandez. I need you to check on Anna immediately."
After the call, Fernandez turned to find Reena behind him.
"Is she okay?" Reena asked, concern etched on her face.
Fernandez's brow furrowed.
"The doctor is coming. We'll know when he's here," he replied curtly.
Reena nodded, her eyes never leaving Fernandez's.
"I'm glad you found her," she whispered.
Fernandez's expression softened slightly.
"Me too," he said.
The doctor arrived promptly, his medical kit in hand. Fernandez and Reena escorted him to Anna's room.
"Good evening, Mr. Antonio," Dr. Lee said, his voice warm and professional.
"Doctor," Fernandez replied, his eyes never leaving Anna's face.
Dr. Lee began his examination, checking Anna's pulse, blood pressure, and temperature. He listened to her heartbeat with his stethoscope, his expression intent.
Reena watched anxiously, her eyes darting between Anna and the doctor.
Finally, Dr. Lee removed his stethoscope and let out a deep sigh.
"Madam has fainted due to severe stress," he explained. "It appears she's experienced a traumatic event."
Fernandez's jaw clenched.
"The fetus?" Reena asked, concern etched on her face.
Dr. Lee's expression turned solemn.
"The fetus is also affected, slightly unstable due to the mother's emotional state. We need to ensure Madam Anna receives adequate rest and emotional support."
Fernandez nodded.
"What do we need to do?" he asked.
Dr. Lee scribbled on a prescription pad.
"I've prescribed a mild sedative to help her relax. Please ensure she takes it as directed. I also recommend complete bed rest for the next 48 hours."
Reena took the prescription.
"What else?" Fernandez asked.
"Monitor her vital signs closely. If she experiences any severe symptoms – bleeding, contractions, or increased pain – contact me immediately."
Fernandez nodded.
"One more thing, Mr. Antonio," Dr. Lee added.
"Yes?"
"Your presence is crucial. Madam Anna needs emotional support. Please stay by her side."
Fernandez's eyes locked onto Anna's face.
"I won't leave her," he vowed.
Dr. Lee nodded.
"I'll check on her tomorrow. Call me if anything changes."
With that, Dr. Lee packed his medical kit and departed.
Reena turned to Fernandez.
"I'll get the medication," she said.
Fernandez nodded, his gaze never leaving Anna's peaceful face.
As Reena exited, Fernandez sat beside Anna, gently taking her hand.
"I'm here for you," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
Anna's eyelids fluttered open.
"Fernandez?" she whispered.
"I'm here," he replied, his eyes locked onto hers.
Anna's gaze drifted closed, a soft smile on her lips.
Fernandez's grip on her hand tightened.
"I'm not leaving your side," he promised.
