Chapter 52
Chapter 52
As Reyna stepped out of Leonardo Rossi's villa, she felt a sense of accomplishment and excitement. She had just landed her dream job, and she couldn't wait to share the news with her friends.
Just then, her phone rang, breaking the silence. She smiled as she saw her friend Sophia's name flashing on the screen.
"Hey, girl! It's been ages!" Sophia exclaimed, her voice bubbly and enthusiastic. "We need to catch up and hang out. How about today?"
Reyna hesitated for a moment, thinking about her new job and the long day ahead. But then she thought, why not? She deserved a celebration.
"I'd love to, Sophia! I just got out of a job interview, and I actually got the job!" Reyna announced, barely containing her excitement.
Sophia exclaimed with disbelief. "What? , Reyna! A job? Aren't you the young mistress of the Antonio's family, why are you still looking for job?"
Reyna shook her head and chuckled, "I will tell you later when we meet, just send me the location for now!"
"Okay!" Sophia exclaimed at the other end.
Reyna agreed, and then quickly called Anna to share the news. "Anna, I got the job! And I'm going out with a friend, Sophia later, so I'll be home late."
Anna's voice was filled with joy. "That's wonderful, Reyna! I'm so proud of you. Just be sure to get home safely and not too late."
Reyna promised, and then hailed a cab to head to Sophia's place. As she settled into the backseat, she couldn't help but feel grateful for this new chapter in her life. She was looking forward to a fun-filled evening with her friend and a bright future as Leonardo Rossi's assistant.
As Reyna boarded the cab, Sophia and their friends teased her good-naturedly. "Hey, Reyna, is the Antonio family going bankrupt? You're taking a cab instead of your usual luxury ride!"
Reyna laughed along with them. "Ha! As long as the workaholic Fernandez is still working, the Antonios will never go bankrupt!"
Sophia raised an eyebrow. "So, what's the occasion? You're being mysterious today."
Reyna smiled slyly. "Let's just say I'm working towards my dream of becoming an actress. And when you find out who I'll be working with, you'll be shocked!"
The girls squealed with excitement, bombarding Reyna with questions, but she remained tight-lipped.
Their first stop was a luxurious spa, where they spent hours pampering themselves with massages, facials, and other treatments. They lounged in plush robes, sipping champagne and giggling as they relaxed.
As evening fell, they headed to a trendy club, dressed to impress in their stylish outfits. The music pulsed, and they danced the night away, laughing and having the time of their lives.
At one point, Sophia grabbed Reyna's arm, her eyes shining with excitement. "Reyna, you're killing us with suspense! Spill the beans – who's the mystery person?"
Reyna just grinned mischievously. "All in good time, my friends. All in good time."
Anna's eyes darted towards the clock on the wall, her mind racing with worry. Reyna was still not home, and Fernandez would be arriving soon. She knew how much he disliked it when they are toying with him.
Just as she was starting to get really anxious, Anna heard the sound of a car pulling into the driveway. She breathed a sigh of relief, thinking it was Reyna finally arriving home. But as she looked out the window, her eyes widened in shock.
It wasn't Reyna's car, but Antonio Fernandez's sleek black vehicle. And he was stepping out of it, looking as handsome and imposing as ever.
Fernandez caught Anna's shocked expression and raised an eyebrow. "Why so shocked, Anna? Were you expecting someone else?"
Anna quickly forced a bright smile onto her face. "Of course not, I was just... um... admiring how handsome you look tonight."
Fernandez stared at her skeptically, his eyes narrowing. "Oh, I don't know when you've become a flatterer, Anna. You're not exactly known for your tact."
Anna's smile faltered for a moment before she recovered. "Well, someone has to keep you humble, Mr. Fernandez."
Fernandez snorted, his expression unyielding. "I doubt that's possible. Where's Reyna, by the way? I expected her to be home by now."
Anna's heart skipped a beat. She knew she had to think fast. "Oh, she's... uh... studying in her room. Yes, that's it. She didn't want to be disturbed."
Fernandez raised an eyebrow. "At this hour? I think I'll go check on her myself."
Anna's panic grew. She knew she had to distract him. "No, no, Mr. Fernandez! I'm sure she's fine. Let me go check on her instead."
But Fernandez was already heading towards the stairs, his long strides eating up the distance. Anna's heart sank. She knew she was in trouble.
Anna stopped him by hugging him, "Fernandez, leave Reyna alone for a while, you told me to act as a good wife, remember, and I will be doing that now!" She removed his suit and held his hand. Fernandez stared at her strangely, guessing if she's mad or not. "Go and freshen up now, then you can come and have the dinner I personally prepared by myself." Fernandez knew she was up to something, but he still complied with her.
As Anna noticed that Fernandez was in the shower, she quickly rushed to Reyna's room and turned on the shower. While she turned on the shower, she couldn't help but feel pity for the loss of water. She quickly got back to the living room, pacing anxiously and checking if Reyna would come home. But it was the footsteps of Fernandez she heard coming from the stairs. He had changed into a casual shirt and dark pants.
Anna smiled at him and urged him to sit down, then she dished out the food for him and sat down beside him. The table was set with a delectable spread of grilled steak, garlic roasted vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes, and a fresh green salad with a zesty vinaigrette dressing.
Fernandez dropped the bomb that he would wait for Reyna to finish her shower so that they can eat together. "I'll wait for Reyna to finish her shower, then we can eat together."
Anna's heart sank, and she forced a smile, trying to stall for time. "Noo!"
Fernandez's eyes widened in surprise as Anna said no. "What do you mean by no?" he asked, his voice firm but curious.
Anna's mind raced as she tried to come up with an excuse, but before she could respond, a drunken Reyna came staggering into the room. "We had a lot of fun!" she slurred, her words barely audible
