Chapter 84

Chapter 84

With Anna in his arms, Fernandez got into the car hurriedly, stabilizing the unconscious Anna into the backseat. He settled by her side, his eyes fixed on her pale face.

The driver drove the car, and they sped out of the mansion. Fernandez's brain was currently blank, and he couldn't process anything right now. His whole body was covered in Anna's blood, and his heart was beating crazily. He was panicking.

Anna was unconscious, and the blood was everywhere. Fernandez held her hand tightly, whispering into her ear, "It will be alright, we will soon get to the hospital." His voice trembled, and it was as though the reassuring words were for himself.

"Drive faster." he shouted at the driver, his anxiety and fear boiling over.

Reyna was in shock, shivering as she watched the scene unfold. There was too much blood - from their bedroom to the living room to the front of the house. She prayed that nothing terrible had happened to Anna.

She opened the car door and instructed the driver, "Follow Fernandez's car to the hospital."

"Yes, madam," the driver replied, turning on the ignition and following after Fernandez's car.

As they stopped at the nearest hospital, the driver opened the door while Fernandez came out with Anna in his arms. Both of them were equally soaked in blood.

The nurses and doctors hurriedly brought a stretcher and wheeled Anna away. A doctor came strolling up to Fernandez.

"She's bleeding too much," Fernandez begged, his voice cracking with emotion. "Save her."

The doctor nodded sympathetically. "Alright, Mr. Antonio. We'll do everything we can to save her."

Fernandez watched as the doctor followed the nurses into the theatre where Anna was taken. He felt a lump form in his throat, and his eyes stung with unshed tears.

He looked down at his blood-soaked clothes and felt a wave of nausea wash over him. He stumbled backwards, feeling like he was going to collapse.

Reyna rushed to his side, supporting him. "Fernandez, please. You have to stay strong for Anna."

Fernandez nodded, taking a deep breath. He looked up at Reyna, his eyes filled with desperation. "What if... what if I lose her?"

Reyna's eyes welled up with tears. "You won't, Fernandez. Anna is strong. She'll pull through."

Fernandez was pacing impatiently in the hospital waiting room, his eyes fixed on the ER doors where Anna was being treated. Reyna, on the other hand, sat quietly, her gaze fixed on the same doors.

A beep sound came from Fernandez's pocket, and the phone screen lit up, signaling an incoming message. Fernandez looked at the screen, reluctant to take out his phone to read the message. Eventually, he let out a sigh and took out his phone.

The message was from Cat, and Fernandez's eyes widened as he read the words. His eyes became bloodshot with anger. "Boss, your cousin Alexandra is the spy working with the man that abducted Madam. And now she's currently confessing in my custody. I'm awaiting your decision on how to deal with her."

Fernandez's face twisted in rage. He had clearly guessed that Alexandra had ulterior motives, but he had chosen to ignore it, thinking she wouldn't dare betray him. But now it seemed she had no qualms about stabbing him in the back.

He looked at Reyna, his eyes cold and hard. "I need to be somewhere right now. Could you please stay with her? I will soon be back."

Reyna's eyes widened in shock. "Fernandez, are you really going to leave her here? Like this?" she asked, incredulous.

Fernandez's eyes darkened, recalling the message sent to him by Cat. "Don't question me, just stay with her and call me when she's awake," he said, his voice cold and detached.

Reyna stood in shock, her eyes welling up with tears. What could be so important that he would leave his wife in the ER? She thought Fernandez had changed, but the bitter truth was that he could never change.

The ER doors swung open, and Anna was wheeled out, looking pale and fragile in her hospital gown. Reyna rushed to her side, her heart aching with worry.

"Doctor, please, how is she?" Reyna asked the doctor who followed Anna out.

The doctor looked at Reyna with a somber expression. "Where is her husband? And who are you?" he asked.

Reyna's eyes welled up with tears. "I came with her husband, and I'm her friend."

The doctor nodded sympathetically. "She's currently out of danger, but sadly... she had a miscarriage."

The doctor's words dropped like a bombshell, leaving Reyna stunned and heartbroken. She looked at Anna, who was still unconscious, and felt a wave of grief wash over her.

Tears streamed down Reyna's face as she held Anna's hand, her heart aching with sorrow. Why did this have to happen to Anna? She was already going through so much.

Anna was taken to a normal ward since she was already out of danger. Reyna had called Fernandez to inform him that Anna was out of danger, but Fernandez wasn't picking up the call. Reyna sighed and finally stopped calling him, leaving with the doctor to fill out the formalities since Fernandez was not there.

Anna finally woke up in a daze, the smell of disinfectant filling her nose, and she finally realized that she was in the hospital. She recalled her stomach aching a lot and her bleeding profusely. Her instinct kicked in, and she instantly touched her belly.

"My baby, my baby. I hope it's fine," she whispered, her voice trembling with fear.

A doctor entered the room and came towards Anna. "Please don't panic, and I want to tell you something now. Listen carefully and don't panic."

Anna calmed down a little and nodded for the doctor to continue. "Actually, you were carrying triplets, and sadly, you lost one baby. And there are still two more babies, but they are extremely weak."

Anna was in shock, her eyes wide with confusion. What was the doctor saying? She had done multiple CT scans, and she was told it was one baby. Could this have been a miracle?

"I hope you are not mistaken, Doctor, because I was told I'm having one baby. You are confusing me now," Anna said, her voice shaking with emotion.

The doctor smiled and nodded. "It happens like in many cases, but I'm really saying the truth. There are still two more babies."

Anna was sad that she had lost one of her babies, but deep down, she was also happy that there were two more. Tears streamed down her face as she processed the news.

"Doctor, please, can you keep this matter a secret?" Anna asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The doctor nodded sympathetically. "Of course, we'll keep it confidential. But you need to rest now and focus on your recovery. We'll take care of the rest."

Anna nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. She was grateful that two of her babies were still alive, but she was also sad that she had lost one. She closed her eyes, trying to process everything that had happened.
