Chapter 7

Chapter 7
Anna opened the door to find Olivia carrying a tray with breakfast and a smirk on her face.
"Good morning, dear," Olivia said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Fernandez wants to see you in his study. He's been waiting for you."
Anna felt a surge of anger but kept her cool. "Thank you, Olivia. I'll be right there."
As she entered the study, Fernandez looked up from his desk, his expression cold and calculating. "Ah, Anna. Good morning. I trust you're feeling better today."
Anna stood tall, her heart racing. "Cut the act, Fernandez. I know about you and Olivia. I want out of this marriage."
Fernandez chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're trapped, Anna. You'll never leave me. I have secrets about your past that will ruin your reputation and destroy your family if you ever try to leave me."
Anna's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about?"
Fernandez leaned back in his chair, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Let's just say how would your parent feel to know that their daughter had a one night stand with a stranger and that one night stand took her virginity away. The one you thought no one knew about."
Anna's face went white as she realized what Fernandez was holding over her. She knew she had to think carefully about her next move.
Fernandez leaned forward, his eyes glinting with malice. "If you ever breathe a word about what's happening here, I'll make you suffer. You'll regret the day you ever crossed me."
Anna's eyes flashed with defiance. "I'm not afraid of you. And I'll never treat Olivia with respect. She's your mistress, not your wife."
Fernandez's smile grew wider. "Olivia is the one I truly love, and I will marry her. You're just a pawn in my game, Anna. And as for exposing me to the police, go ahead and try. I dare you."
Anna's voice trembled with anger. "You married me against my will. That's illegal."
Fernandez laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "No one would believe you, Anna. And even if they did, I have the power and influence to silence them. I am the most brutal businessman in this city, and even the head of police wouldn't want to offend me."
Anna was speechless, her eyes wide with fear.
Fernandez leaned back in his chair, a triumphant look on his face. "Now, get out of my sight. But don't think you're off the hook that easily. You're going to accompany me to a function tonight as my wife. And you'll smile and pretend to be happy, or suffer the consequences."
Anna turned and fled the room, her heart racing with terror.
"Anna, come downstairs, we're having breakfast," Fernandez called out, his voice dripping with condescension.
Anna reluctantly made her way downstairs, dressed in a simple outfit. Olivia looked her up and down, a sneer on her face.
"Wow, Anna, you really know how to dress to impress," Olivia said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You look like a maid."
Fernandez shot Anna a disapproving look. "Yes, Anna, you should really try to dress better. You don't want to embarrass me, do you?"
Anna's eyes flashed with anger, but she bit back her retort. "I didn't realize I was supposed to dress up for breakfast," she said, her voice tight.
Fernandez's eyes narrowed. "You should always try to look your best, Anna. Especially when you're with me."
Anna couldn't help herself. "Well, if you're so concerned about style, maybe you should take Olivia with you instead of me. She's much more fashionable than I am."
Fernandez's face darkened with anger, and he grasped Anna's hand tightly, his grip bruising. "How dare you," he hissed. "You will never talk back to me like that again. Do you understand?"
Tears pricked at the corners of Anna's eyes as she nodded, her hand throbbing in pain. Fernandez released her hand, his eyes glinting with satisfaction.
Olivia laughed, a cold, cruel sound. "Oh, Anna, you're so pathetic. You can't even dress yourself properly, let alone speak properly."
Anna felt a lump form in her throat as she pushed her chair back and stood up. "I've lost my appetite," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As she turned to leave, Olivia's mocking laughter followed her, echoing through the room like a cruel taunt.
