Chapter 75
Chapter 75
Alessandra stood up with a warm smile, her chair scraping against the floor. "I will get it," she said, her voice cheerful and inviting.
Anna nodded lightly, her curiosity piqued, while Fernandez just gazed at the door, his eyes fixed on the entrance.
Alessandra unlocked the door knob, and the door clicked open, revealing a delivery man standing in the doorway. He was dressed in a crisp brown uniform, with a friendly smile on his face.
"Hi, how can I help you?" Alessandra asked, her eyes sparkling with interest.
The man stretched out the package in his hand to Alessandra. "I was asked to deliver this package to Ms. Anna," he said, his voice firm and professional.
Alessandra's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "A delivery package? Are you sure you are in the right place?" she asked, her voice tinged with skepticism.
The delivery man checked the address given to him and nodded. "Yes, ma'am, this is the right address. Antonio Mansion."
Anna finally voiced out, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Who is there, Alessandra?"
Fernandez was also eagerly curious to know who was at the door so early in the morning. He leaned forward, his eyes fixed intently on Alessandra.
Alessandra nodded and collected the package from the delivery man, who turned and left without another word. She shut the door and walked back to Anna and Fernandez, who were waiting for her to talk.
"It was a delivery man," Alessandra muttered, settling down on her seat. "He said this package was for Anna."
Anna looked at Alessandra, her eyes wide with surprise. "The package is for me? But I wasn't expecting anything from anyone. Could it be my mom?" She collected the package from Alessandra and reluctantly opened it.
Inside the package was a bunch of beautiful flowers, a little baby shirt, and a written letter. Anna's eyes widened as she saw the contents, her heart racing with anticipation.
She picked up the letter and read, her eyes scanning the page quickly. The letter went like this:
"How are you, my dear angel? It's been so long, and my life has been dark without you. It's been so long. I can't wait to finally have you and our baby in my arms. I can't wait anymore; I will come for you. Your lover, Jason!"
Anna's hand shivered as she read the letter, her face going pale. She suddenly gasped and dropped the letter back in the package, her eyes wide with fear.
Fernandez saw her expression and asked, his voice firm and concerned, "What's wrong? What's inside the letter?"
He snatched the package away from her, his eyes scanning the contents quickly. Alessandra also saw Anna's expression, and she held Anna's hand, equally looking worried.
Fernandez saw the flowers, the baby shirt, and finally the letter. He was clenching his fist even before reading the letter, his jaw tense and his expression turned cold and serious.
"Jason again and again, how dare him?" Fernandez growled, his voice low and menacing. His emerald eyes flashed with anger, and his fists clenched at his sides. He was furious, his face red with rage.
Alessandra immediately stood up, sensing the tension in the air. She didn't want to intrude on their private moment. She soothingly patted Anna's hand and whispered, "I'll leave you two alone. I'm going to my room." She quickly exited the room, closing the door behind her.
Fernandez's gaze turned to Anna, his eyes blazing with fury. "How dare that lowly Jason! Who does he think he is to threaten me, to steal you and my baby away? And he even has the gut to call my baby his! How dare him?" His voice rose, echoing off the walls.
Anna was also furious, her face pale with anger. "I also don't know his problem, why is he looking for me again? I have nothing to do with him." She muttered, frustration and fear etched on her face. She couldn't believe Jason's audacity.
Fernandez held her hand, his touch calming. "Don't panic and stress yourself out, it's not good for the baby. It seems he's obsessed with you." His eyes flashed dangerously, and he continued, "But he doesn't know who he's dealing with. Don't worry, I will take care of him."
Anna felt a wave of relief wash over her. Fernandez wasn't questioning or accusing her; he was protecting her. It seemed like he was really changing.
Fernandez stood up, his movements swift and decisive. He checked his wristwatch, his eyes narrowing. "If you've finished your food, then let's go for the doctor's appointment. We don't want to be late."
Anna nodded, still feeling a bit shaken. She stood up, and Fernandez offered his arm. She took it, feeling a sense of safety and security with him by her side. Together, they left the dining room to the parking lot.
As they arrived at the parking lot, the driver greeted them respectfully, his voice firm and professional. "We will be going out with the Bugatti Veyron, and the location is Citadel Hospital." Fernandez told the driver.
The driver nodded and muttered, "Less I forget, sir. Someone brought this package for madam." He handed Fernandez a small, elegantly wrapped box.
Fernandez's eyes flashed dangerously, his jaw clenched in anger. He snatched the package from the driver, his movements swift and decisive. "It must be that freak again," he growled, his voice low and menacing.
Anna's eyes widened in fear, her heart racing with anticipation. "What is it, Fernandez?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Fernandez's eyes scanned the package, his gaze lingering on the elegant wrapping. "I don't know, but I'm going to find out." He ripped open the package, revealing a small, exquisitely crafted music box.
The music box lid opened, and a soft, melancholic tune filled the air. Fernandez's eyes narrowed, his face darkening with anger. Inside the music box, a small note read: "My love, my heart beats for you. Jason."
