Chapter 87

Chapter 87

Antonio's words still lingered in Anna's mind: "Seeing you every day reminds me of how big of a failure you are as a mother and how I lost my child because of you." The hurtful words cut deep, and Anna couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and sadness.

It had been a week since Antonio started taunting her, and Anna felt suffocated in the mansion. He had sent the servants away, leaving her alone with her thoughts. The only person who brought her solace was Reyna, who called her regularly to check in.

As midnight approached, Anna grew worried. Antonio wasn't back yet, and she couldn't help but wonder where he was. She let out a sigh, her heart clouded with thoughts. Ever since he left the master bedroom for the guest room, she had been sleeping alone.

"Should I call him?" Anna thought to herself, but quickly shook her head. She knew Antonio would get angry if she did.

Anna was torn about whether to tell Antonio about the babies or not. The doctor had warned her to take it easy, but Antonio's behavior made her hesitant.

Just as Anna drifted off to sleep, a car pulled into the mansion. Mr. Thompson quickly got out and opened the back door, helping a drunken Antonio out of the car.

Antonio stumbled out, his eyes glassy and unfocused. Mr. Thompson struggled to keep him upright as they made their way inside.

When they reached the living room, Antonio snatched himself away from Mr. Thompson. "You can go now," he slurred, looking up at Mr. Thompson with a drunken gaze.

"Are you sure, boss?" Mr. Thompson asked, concern etched on his face.

Fernandez waved him away and collapsed onto the couch, resting his head and closing his eyes. Mr. Thompson hesitated, unsure whether to leave him in that condition.

"Maybe I should get Madam?" Mr. Thompson suggested, staring down at Antonio.

Antonio's brow furrowed, and he opened his eyes, staring at Mr. Thompson with red, bloodshot eyes. "What are you still doing here? Go away and let me have a proper sleep."

Mr. Thompson sighed and left, casting one last glance at Antonio.

A while later, Antonio stirred, standing up with faltering steps. He looked around for Anna, but she was nowhere to be found. A bitter smile twisted his lips.

"Of course, she's sleeping peacefully," he whispered to himself, his voice laced with venom. "How dare she sleep so soundly when I'm suffering?"

Antonio's legs trembled, but he held onto the wall for support. "No, no, no, absolutely not," he muttered. "She doesn't dare to get a good night's rest. I'll make sure of that."

With a newfound determination, Antonio stumbled towards the master bedroom, holding onto the wall for support. He pushed open the door and made his way inside.

Anna lay on the bed, fast asleep. Antonio's eyes narrowed as he took in the sight of her peaceful slumber. He sat down at the edge of the bed, his eyes fixed on Anna's nightgown, which had slipped off her shoulder, revealing her cleavage.

Fernandez's eyes darkened, and lust overshadowed his anger. He reached out a trembling hand, his fingers brushing against Anna's skin.

As Fernandez's hands roamed over Anna's body, she felt a wave of panic wash over her. She tried to push him away, but he was too strong. His lips were everywhere, kissing and biting her skin.

"Stop, please stop," Anna begged, trying to reason with him. But Fernandez was beyond reason. He was consumed by his own desires and anger.

"You're my wife, and you'll do as I say," he growled, his breath hot against her skin. "You'll fulfill your duties, and you'll do it with a smile."

Anna's heart was racing, and she felt like she was going to pass out. She was trapped beneath Fernandez's body, and she couldn't escape.

Just as she thought things couldn't get any worse, Fernandez's hands began to tear at her nightgown. Anna felt a surge of fear, and she knew she had to think fast if she wanted to get out of this situation alive.

With a burst of adrenaline, Anna managed to push Fernandez off her. She scrambled out of bed and made a run for the door.

But Fernandez was too quick. He caught up to her and spun her around, his eyes blazing with anger.

"You think you can run from me?" he sneered. "You think you can escape?"

Anna shook her head, trying to reason with him. "Please, Fernandez, stop this. You're not thinking clearly."

But Fernandez just laughed. "I'm thinking clearer than ever," he said. "And I know exactly what I want. And what I want is you."
