Chapter 9

Chapter 9
Olivia couldn't bear the thought of Fernandez spending the evening with Anna, laughing and smiling together like a genuine couple. She felt a surge of jealousy and determination. She wouldn't let Anna steal the spotlight or Fernandez's attention.
Olivia grabbed her phone and dialed a number, her mind racing with a plan. "I need a favor, Carlos. I need you to get me into that party tonight. I don't care how you do it, just make it happen."
She waited anxiously for Carlos's response, her eyes fixed on the clock. She had to act fast if she wanted to crash the party and reclaim Fernandez's attention.
Carlos's voice came through the phone, "Okay, Olivia, I've got you covered. Meet me at the party location in 20 minutes. I'll get you in."
Olivia's heart raced with excitement and determination. She quickly got ready, her mind focused on her goal. She arrived at the location, a luxurious mansion on the outskirts of town, and spotted Carlos waiting by the entrance.
"Thanks, Carlos," she said, slipping past him into the party.
Her eyes scanned the room, searching for Fernandez and Anna. She spotted them across the room, laughing and chatting with a group of guests. Olivia's eyes narrowed, her heart burning with jealousy.
She made her way through the crowd, her eyes fixed on her target. She was determined to make her presence known and reclaim Fernandez's attention.
As she approached the group, Fernandez's eyes met hers, a hint of surprise and annoyance flickering across his face. Anna, oblivious to the tension, smiled at her, "Olivia, what a surprise! We didn't know you were coming."
Olivia's smile was sweet and innocent, "Last-minute invitation. I couldn't resist joining the fun."
Fernandez's eyes lingered on hers, a silent warning. But Olivia was not deterred. She was there to make a statement, and she would not be ignored.
As Anna watched Olivia approach the group, she couldn't help but notice the revealing dress Olivia wore. The stunning red gown was cut low, showcasing her cleavage, and the slit up her leg was so high it seemed to defy gravity. Anna felt a pang of discomfort as Olivia sidled up to Fernandez, her hand brushing against his arm.
Fernandez's eyes flicked to Anna's, and she saw a hint of apology there, but also a warning. Olivia's dress seemed to shimmer in the light, drawing attention to her curves. Anna's own dress felt modest in comparison, but she knew she couldn't let Olivia's tactics get to her.
As the music changed, Fernandez turned to Anna, his eyes burning with intensity. "Shall we dance, Anna?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Anna nodded, and he led her onto the dance floor, Olivia's eyes following them like a hawk.
As they danced, Anna couldn't help but notice the way Fernandez's eyes kept drifting to Olivia, his expression unreadable. She knew she had to keep her guard up, or risk losing him to Olivia's charms. She didn't know why but she wanted him to only acknowledge her and not Olivia. Meanwhile, Olivia watched from the sidelines, her eyes fixed on Fernandez with a calculating gaze, her mind working overtime to come up with her next move.
As they glided across the dance floor, Anna felt Fernandez's hand on her waist, his fingers burning into her skin. She tried to focus on the music, on the rhythm of their steps, but her mind kept wandering back to Olivia's provocative dress and the way Fernandez's eyes kept drifting towards her.
Fernandez seemed to sense her tension and pulled her closer, his breath whispering against her ear. "Don't worry, Anna. You're the only one I'm interested in at least for tonight."
Anna's heart fluttered at his words and felt hurt at the same time, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as she watch Olivia's smug smirk.
Olivia's eyes locked onto Anna's dress, a sly smile spreading across her face. She reached for a nearby glass of wine, her intention clear.
But before she could make a move, Fernandez stepped in, his eyes flashing with warning. He swiftly removed his suit jacket and wrapped it around Anna's shoulders, covering her dress.
"Looks like you're getting a little too eager, Olivia," Fernandez growled, his voice low and menacing. "No one messes with my wife and gets away with it."
The room fell silent, all eyes on the tense scene unfolding before them. Olivia's face turned bright red with rage and embarrassment.
Anna's eyes met Fernandez's, a mix of gratitude and surprise. She mouthed a silent "thank you," her heart racing with excitement.
Fernandez's gaze never left Olivia's, his eyes blazing with a fierce protectiveness. "You're not going to humiliate Anna tonight, or any night. She's under my protection now."
The room erupted in cheers and applause, Olivia's face burning with shame. She stormed out of the room defeated.
As they drove home, Anna turned to Fernandez, her voice filled with emotion. "Fernandez, why did you do that? Why did you protect me from Olivia?"
Fernandez's gaze remained fixed on the road, his expression cold and detached. "I didn't do it for you, Anna. I did it for myself. I won't let anyone embarrass me or my wife in public. It's a matter of pride."
Anna's heart sank, his words piercing her like a dagger. "So, it was just about your pride? Not about protecting me or caring for me?"
Fernandez's smile was cruel. "Let's not get sentimental, Anna. You're my wife, my property. I'll do what it takes to keep you in line."
Anna felt a chill run down her spine as Fernandez pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Olivia, it's me. I apologize for what happened tonight. I overreacted."
Anna's eyes widened in shock, her mind reeling with disbelief. "You're apologizing to her? After what she tried to do to me?"
Fernandez's eyes gleamed with malice. "Like I said, Anna. You're just a possession. Don't forget your place."
The car fell silent, the only sound being Fernandez's cold, calculating laughter. Anna's heart raced with fear, wondering what lay ahead in their twisted game of marriage.
