Chapter 90
Chapter 90
Enough is enough; he can't just treat her as he wishes. It's not like he owns her or what? Anna wiped away the tears that fell down her cheeks; she was tired, and this couldn't continue. She had to make a decision for herself and her babies.
She went towards the closet and opened it, bringing out a purse she had picked up from her room when she visited her mother. She looked around the room, Fernandez was unpredictable and very cunning; there might be a hidden camera in the room.
Anna held the purse tightly and went straight into the bathroom, sitting down on the water closet. She turned on the cell phone and went to the call logs; there was only one number on the phone.
\[Your offer, I'm ready to accept.\] She sent a quick SMS to the unnamed number. And quickly, as if the unnamed number had been waiting for her message, it quickly replied.
\[Thank God, finally. I'll make quick arrangements\] Anna breathed a sigh of relief; she thought he would have changed his mind. She had finally made up her mind, and no one could change it now.
She felt a sting from the wound and got onto the bed, laying down gently. She covered herself with the duvet, her eyes opening wide with different thoughts on her mind.

Reyna finally felt a sense of relief, being a COO was very tiring. After two consecutive weeks of no rest, she finally got time to relax.
She looked around the restaurant; a smile spread across her lips. The atmosphere was cool and romantic, with couples sitting in pairs, behaving lovingly with each other.
Reyna glanced to the right, where two couples sat together; one woman was pregnant. Reyna's heart melted at the sight. The couple looked young, but their love was visible; the husband had only eaten one spoonful of food given to him by his wife, but he had already fed his wife five spoonfuls while rubbing her belly.
Reina looked away and sighed; the pregnant belly reminded her of Anna. She wondered if Anna was alright, as she used to say, or if Anna was lying to her.
She let out another sigh and tucked a strand of falling hair behind her ear, taking a sip of water.
"Wow, easy there, pretty lady," a voice said. "You've been sighing; I hope there's no problem."
Reyna's head snapped toward the voice. 'Wow,' she thought. The guy was handsome; he had stylish braids, brown eyes with mischief dancing in them, long lashes, a perfect jaw, thin lips with a smirk, and an overall captivating presence.
He was dressed in a tuxedo, looking sharp and cool at the same time. He sat down and sent her a wink. "I hope you don't mind."
Reyna composed herself and shrugged. "It's too late to ask about that when you've already taken your seat. So, what can I do for you?"
His eyes widened, and he held his chest, wincing as if in pain. "That hurt a lot. You're the first girl who's not swooned by my looks. I'm impressed!"
Reyna looked bored, maintaining a nonchalant attitude. "Maybe it's because I'm used to being around good-looking people."
"Wow, you finally admitted that I'm good-looking," he exclaimed, his dimples showing. Reyna shook her head with a smile; she had never seen someone as bold and narcissistic as him.
He put forward his hand for a handshake. "Hi, I'm Zane Royce, nice to meet you."
Reyna looked at him and eventually shook his hand. "I'm Reyna Antonio."
Zane smiled, his dimples showing. "So, friends?"
Reyna returned his smile. "Yeah, friends."
"I noticed you've been sipping water; want to order? Bill's on me," he said with a cocky smile.
"I'm sorry, but thanks. You want to order? Bill's on me?" Reyna smirked.
He let out a frustrated sigh and shook his head. "I thought you'd be happy and quickly order, like girls I've met used to do."
Reyna smiled understandingly; he thought all girls were the same. "I'm sorry I'm not one of those girls, so you should treat me normally."
He raised his hand in a surrendering manner. "As you wish, madam. But you still get to order, and the bill's on me; you're a lady and my friend, and I should be a gentleman. What do you think?"

Fernandez parked the car in the parking lot and headed straight into the mansion. The silence that greeted him as he opened the door was unsettling. Anna wasn't in the living room.
"Maybe she's in the room," he thought, a pang of guilt hitting him. His father and Mr. Thompson had made him realize that he had been maltreating Anna. He finally understood that he wasn't the only one who felt the pain of losing their baby; Anna, as the mother, would feel it just as deeply.
He had been tormenting and torturing her, constantly reminding her of her loss. He regretted the day he forced himself on her and the day before, when he bruised her. His anger had blinded him to everything else.
Fernandez walked towards the guest room where he had been sleeping, intending to shower and then find Anna in their bedroom to apologize. After his shower, he headed to their bedroom.
As he approached the bedroom door, he hesitated, feeling a mix of emotions. He took a deep breath, gathered his courage, and knocked on the door. The silence that followed his repeated knocks made him feel anxious.
"Anna, please open the door," he called out softly. When there was still no response, he slowly turned the handle and pushed the door open. The room was empty.
"She must be in the bathroom," he thought, walking towards the bathroom. But when he got there, it was empty too.
Fernandez slammed the door shut in frustration and walked back to the bedroom. That's when he saw a note peeking out from under the pillow. He picked it up, recognizing Anna's handwriting.
The words on the paper hit him like a ton of bricks: "I can never forgive you for all that you've done to me. Don't ever look for me because you can never find me. I'm gone from you, monster."
