Chapter 151
"Happy?" Zeno asked Ida.
"Sure, I'm always happy to expose a liar and deceiver," Ida smirked.
"I'm none of those, Ida. Keep your mouth shut if you don't know the full story," Zeno said.
Ida scoffed, "What other stories do I have to know? I wouldn't be surprised if you've fucked Bison too - Fuck!" Ida reeled back from the harsh push Zeno gave his chest.
He immediately attacked Zeno with a jab on the face, causing blood to flow out of his nose.
Zeno staggered back and leaned on the car.
Cody immediately came forward and held Ida, who was going forward for another hit "Stop it, Ida! Enough!" He pulled Ida back.
Zeno touched his nose, his finger staining with blood, he sighed, "Happy?" He asked Ida.
"You asked for it," Ida eyed Zeno angrily and snatched his hand away from Cody before storming off angrily.
Cody gave Zeno a short look before walking off.
Everyone had gone to enter the vehicle that would be driving them off, except Zeno. He didn't know who to join, no one wanted him beside them at the moment, especially Sebastian.
He stood there, watching the cars driving off one after the other.
Sebastian reached his front and slowed down, the driver's window winded down to show Andre's face, "The boss had asked for you to stay back, Zeno. He said he can't take someone who might end up betraying him," Andre delivered the message and drove off.
Zeno stood in front of the mansion, letting the weight of his reality settle on him. "I deserved it this time," He muttered.
He recalled the betrayed look he saw on Sebastian's face and a tear slipped down from the side of his eyes.
He wiped it off and took out a bandana from his pocket to wipe his bleeding nose.
However, before he could successfully get the bandana out of his pocket, he felt a very insignificant sting on his neck, and before he could raise his hand to touch his neck, he blacked out and fell to the floor.
His past thoughts went out to Sebastian and his Nana; he wished them happiness, just in case he never got to see them again.
He knew it was Bison's men who had come for him, hopefully, they wouldn't drag Sebastian into his mess.
"Keep an eye on him," Sebastian spoke to Ida through his phone.
His eyes were staring out of the car, watching Ida, who was hiding behind a building a distance.
Their car was parked far away from the building Nicholas had entered, but it was close to the building Ida was hiding behind.
They had thought the location would be isolated and far away from the city, but it wasn't.
It was a hotel located right in the heart of the city, busy as ever; somehow, Sebastian liked the venue; it made it easier for them to blend in with the crowd.
Ezra, who was sitting beside Sebastian in the car suddenly spoke up, "Sebastian?" He called quietly, frowning.
Sebastian sighed and turned to him not saying a word.
"Don't you think it's weird?" Ezra questioned.
Sebastian frowned slightly as he couldn't understand what Ezra was talking about.
"What do you mean?" Sebastian asked.
Ezra pointed to his ear to the earpiece that was connected to Nicholas, "I think k maybe mine is broken," he said.
Sebastian frowned harder, "I'm not in the mood for your jokes, Ezra, just say whatever it is you want to say," he turned away and looked at Ida; he wasn't alone; Jasper had met him and was whispering something to him.
"It's Nicholas; I can't hear him speaking with anyone; shouldn't he have reached the room by now?" Ezra questioned.
"Nicholas is fine; I can hear his footsteps, and don't forget that some men are already watching him in the building; nothing will happen to him," Sebastian assured.
Ezra shook his head, "That's the problem, I know he is safe, but I just feel like he's too safe. I just feel like this is a trap; if there was really someone waiting for him in that building, then they should have been speaking by now," He explained.
Sebastian frowned, understanding what Ezra was trying to say. "Then, what have they distracted us from? They certainly can't enter my home and touch anyone, what could they be playing at?" He was getting kind of anxious, something wasn't sitting well with the way everything was playing out.
"Andre," He called.
"Yes, boss," Andre answered from the front seat.
"Put Nicholas on the screen," He ordered.
He had attached one of his micro security cameras on Nicholas' shirt, to aid them see his surroundings.
"Yes, boss," Andre answered again.
"I don't think it's necessary," Ezra said.
"Why?" Sebastian asked.
Ezra pointed ahead, "Here he comes," He announced, pointing at Nicholas, who was walking back with the bodyguards that had sneaked in with him.
Sebastian was left confused, "What the hell is going on?" He muttered and got out of the car.
He walked over to Nicholas and took off the earpiece from his ears as he no longer needed it, Nicholas was standing right in front of him.
"What's this, Nicholas? What happened?" He questioned seriously, tapering down his anger.
Nicholas looked angry as well, "I don't know either, but it's obvious he'd tricked us. Look what I saw on the floor of the room we were supposed to meet," Nicholas handed Sebastian a black envelope.
Sebastian was apprehensive, "What's in it?" He asked cautiously.
"I don't know, I didn't open it as the writing asked," Nicholas pointed at the red write-up in front of the envelope.
Sebastian looked down and saw the "Only for Mr. Orion." that was written on the envelope.
He frowned and took the envelope from Nicholas.
He opened it and slid out the white paper from it, "If you're reading this means you have fallen for my trick. It was nice toying with you, I will send an email to my son. Don't worry; this time, it will be with the real location and my real interest. Drive home safe. I've got a surprise for you," Sebastian read it out loud.
"What a psycho," Nicholas scoffed.
"I see where you got it from," Exra said beside Sebastian.
"Not now, Doc," Nicholas said with a serious expression.
Sebastian sighed, "We better get going, just in case he really wants to try something funny," He quickly turned and walked back to the car.
"You alright?" Ezra asked Nicholas.
Nicholas ignored him and walked away.
"You're alright," Ezra cleared his throat and walked behind him.
As they drove back, Sebastian could not help feeling anxious but he dismissed it. It must be because of Zeno's actions. He was wondering if Zeno knew that Bison was going to do this and still decided not to tell him.
He was hurt, and he hated that he had to start retracting his trust from Zeno.
He'd given him so many chances, he'd done all his best to see that he never let Zeno go. But after this, he wasn't so sure where their relationship was heading.
What Zeno did this time was out of the fucking charts. He was communicating with the enemy. He'd forgiven him for the deal he had with his father because, at the end of the day, his father was still family and just simply wanted his son to get married and find a mother for his grandson.
However, Bison was on a whole new level.
Zeno knew the danger that Bison was; he had threatened to kill Ken, he had attacked them, hell, Zeno himself had even been shot by Bison's men, yet he chose to work with him.
Sebastian was disappointed in Zeno; at the end of the day, nothing lasts forever. He was going to prioritize his family's security first, he had thought that he could make Zeno a part of the family, but as it turned out, he had to let Zeno go. He can't bring someone untrustworthy into his family, someone he couldn't trust blindly.
They said love was blind and foolish, but in this case, he wasn't going to follow that rule; he was going to make the right choices, even if it meant letting go of the one person who had become one part of his life.
They reached the mansion and Sebastian frowned when the car in front of them stopped, not entering the gate.
Sebastian saw Cody get out of the car and walk in front of it.
He immediately got out to check what was going on, "What are you doing," He asked Cody, who was squatting to retrieve something from the ground.
"I think this is Zeno's phone...and this," Cody handed Sebastian the phone with another black envelope.
Sebastian's heart skipped a beat the moment he saw the phone and the envelope. His mind played so many scenarios in his head of what might have happened, and in all the scenarios, it always ended the same way: Zeno was hurt.
He snatched the phone and envelope, quickly tearing the envelope open.
"What does it say?" Ezra asked.
Ezra and Nicholas had walked out to see what was going on, they were surprised to find another envelope in Sebastian's hand.
Sebastian had a huge frown on his face, he slowly handed the paper in his hand to Ezra, muttering under his breath and leaning on the car behind him.
He looked helpless as if his world was crumbling down on him.
"Surprise!" Ezra read quietly.
Nicholas stared into the paper and saw that what Ezra had read was truly the only thing written on it.
"They've kidnapped Zeno," Ezra stated.
"Thanks for pointing that out," Sebastian said angrily.
"Give me your phone, I'm calling him," Sebastian said to Nicholas.
Nicholas shook his head, "I don't think it is wise, Sebas -"
"Give me the damn phone!" He growled, grabbing Nicholas' collar.
Ezra held Sebastian's shoulder, "Hey, man, chill. We're all here to help you out; don't take it out on him; it's not your fault." He gently removed Sebastian's hand from Nicholas.
"It's his fault; being Bison's don is already enough reason to hate him," Sebastian spat out.
"Mind your words, Sebastian; I, too, am facing my own challenges from my so-called father," Nicholas sighed.
"I don't have time for rubbish talks, just give me your damn phone," Sebastian ordered.
Nicholas sighed; he took his phone out of his pocket and was about to give it to Sebastian when an email notification entered his phone.
"Take it, it's for you, after all," Nicholas gave Sebastian the phone.
Sebastian snatched the phone out of his hands and clicked on the email.
"The mother fucker dropped the location, I'm heading there right away," He said and threw the phone back to Nicholas.
"For fuck's sake!" Ezra drew Sebastian back, blocking his path.
"Get out of my way, Ezra," Sebastian warned.
"Is something wrong with you?! How could you just go in blindly into an enemy's Den?" Ezra asked heatedly.
"You expect me to sit and wait for him to hurt Zeno? Kill him?" Sebastian frowned.
"I'm saying, calm down, plan, and then you can go," Ezra suggested calmly.
"He's calling me," Nicholas announced, holding his phone up.
Before anyone could stop him, Sebastian snatched the phone and answered the call.
