Ch177

Zeno was woken by Zen's call the next morning, he woke up to also find a text from Cassian asking if they could meet that afternoon.

He didn't answer any of them, he didn't feel like going anywhere.

He was going home to his Nana; it was in these kind of moments that he thanked God for keeping his Nana for him; at least he had a real family to spend his life with.

He knew that Zen was calling to ask if was coming to the gym that morning, and Cassian was calling to ask him out on a date.

He wasn't interested in either at the moment.

All he wanted was to go home and watch movies with his Nana.

He didn't want to associate with anyone.

He left his room and went over to knock on Nicholas' room.

"Hey, good morning, going home already?" Nicholas opened the door and asked.

Zeno nodded, "Yeah, I won't be going to the gym today, I'm heading out," He told him and turned to leave.

"Hey," Nicholas stepped out of the room, buttoning his shirt.

"I'm sorry about last night, I know Sebastian is trying to reopen old wounds, and I know it's not my place to say... but, if you still love him, maybe -"

"Maybe what, Nicholas? Tell him I love him and run back to him? Pretend there is no woman beside him? Stay in the shadows for him? Lose myself for him? If this is what you mean by loving him, then, no, I do not love him, Nicholas. That is not love," he chuckled dryly, "That's just stupidity," He frowned.

Nicholas was quiet.

He sighed and nodded, "That's true, I don't know what I was thinking for saying that, I'm sorry," He apologized.

Zeno shrugged, "It's okay. Need a ride home, oh... no, you don't, you drove your car here," He recalled.

"Yes, I did, but I'm riding home with you; I need to feel the morning breeze and sunlight on my skin; let's go," Nicholas hooked his arm around Zeno's and dragged him away.

Unlike how he used to squirm and sell Zeno for speeding with his bike, he asked him to speed faster that morning; he even refused to wear a helmet just so he could feel the wind properly.

"Woah! That was awesome!" Nicholas laughed as he got down from the bike.

Zeno got down and stared at Nicholas in suspicion, "That's weird... anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, for the first time ever." He smiled.

Nicholas smirked, "Next time, I'm driving," He winked at Zeno and walked into the building.

They reached their apartments and parted ways, but Zeno was sure that Nicholas would soon come knocking on his door after his shower.

The man never stayed in his house, and Nana always asked him why he didn't just move in with them and stay in the third room in the house instead of going from house to house, but Nicholas never agreed, he always insisted on letting Zeno have his privacy, and up till now, Zeno never understood what he meant by privacy.

"You're back," Nana embraced Zeno as he entered the house.

"Mmm, I missed you, Nana," He kissed her cheek.

"Me too, Nieto. Hungry?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm very hungry, Nana, I'm starving," He pouted like a child.

"Three more minutes, go take a shower, you stink, o thought you promised not to drink," She eyed him.

"Come on, Nana, I work in a bar, I'm supposed to smell like it," He sighed.

"I hope that's the real explanation," She patted his cheeks and walked into the kitchen.

Zeno rolled his eyes, "I'm an adult, Nana," he muttered.

"Not to me, Nieto," Nana replied from the kitchen.

Zeno sighed and walked into his room, he wondered how she had such supper hearing at her age.

After showering, Zeno came out and saw Nicholas already sitting at the dining table, smiling like a chicken as Nana dished out the food on the plates.

"You have to start paying for these meals, Nick," Zeno said as he walked over to them.

"Don't say that, Zeno, it's inhuman, he's family, family don't pay each other for showing kindness," She frowned at him.

"What she said," Nicholas replied, smiling at Zeno.

"Of course... family," He gave Nicholas a nasty look.

Zeno eyed Nicholas and went to sit far away from him,

"Go get water, Nicholas," Zeno said, relaxing on the chair.

"No, Zeno, he's a guest, guests are not allowed to do shores," Nana corrected.

"Nana, it's just getting water from the fridge; he wouldn't die," He glared at Nicholas, who was making a cute face at Nana.

"No, you go get the water," Nana said and sat beside Nicholas.

Zeno frowned and stood from the chair. He sometimes wondered who the grandson was; was it really him, or was it Nicholas?

He walked over to the fridge and grabbed three bottles of water, "You need to pick a side, Nana. If he's a family, he needs to do chores, and he's a guest; he has to pay for the meals," He said as he dropped the bottles of water on the table.

He was about to sit down when he heard a knock on the door.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, I invited Maggie for lunch, please, be a darling and go open the door for her," Nana smiled at Zeno.

"Can't he go get the door?" He pointed at Nicholas, who was already eating.

"He's eating, Nieto; it's rude to interrupt someone while they're eating," She replied.

Zeno chuckled, "Of course, oh wise, Nana... just till I get him alone, I'll make him pay," He muttered and walked over to the door.

He glared at Nicholas as he opened the door, "Good afternoon Magg -"

"Hi, Zeno!" Ken smiled excitedly and hugged Zeno.

"Uh... Ken, how did you get here?" He asked, looking around and seeing no one with the boy.

"Is that Maggie's boy?" Nana asked from the dining.

Nicholas was already alert the moment he heard Ken's voice; what was Sebastian doing?

"I came with Daddy, he's right... here," He pointed at the elevator as it slowly slid open to reveal Sebastian and Ezra!

Zeno was bewildered, shocked, what was he supposed to do now? Take Ken in and leave the rest outside?

He thought he had been clear in asking Sebastian to stay away from him; why was he invading his personal life too?

And how the fuck is Ezra with him now?

"Who's that?" Nana asked behind Zeno.

"Um, it's Nicholas' friends; they'll just wait for him out here while he eats. Come on, Ken," he smiled at the boy and gently pulled him in before Sebastian could reach his door.

"Good afternoon, Ma'am," Ken greeted Nana.

Nana smiled at the boy, "Hi, Niño, you're right in time. Food is ready, and please, call me Nana; I'm Zeno's Grandma," She patted the boy's head.

"Okay, Nana," Ken hugged her.

"Go right to the dining, let Nicholas serve you," She said.

"Nicholas?" Ken moved his head to the side to look toward where Nana had pointed, and truly, he saw Nicholas smiling at him, "Nicholas!" He ran with excitement toward him, laughing loudly.

Meanwhile, Zeno had successfully locked his door and was smiling at his Nana guiltily.

"Open, Zeno," Nana asked.

Zeno shook his head, "They're really not our business, Nana; I promise you, they can stand there for days and wouldn't mind; they're here for Nicholas, not us, can we just go eat? I'm starving," He blinked cutely at her.

There was no way he was letting Sebastian inside his house.

Nana frowned, "Leave the door, Zeno; Nicholas' friends are ours too; they're automatically family. Move now," She said sternly.

Zeno frowned, "You don't care about me; all you care about is expanding your family. Am I not enough for you?" He turned to emotional.

"Yes, you're right, now, move and open the door for my new family members," She didn't give a damn about his fake feelings.

'Fuck,' Zeno cursed mentally.

He sighed and reluctantly turned and unlocked the door; at least, there were many people in the room, plus a kid; Sebastian would never try anything stupid, right?

He opened the door and stood beside it.

"Hi, Zeno, Hi, Nana," Ezra walked in and hugged Zeno before walking around him to hug Nana.

"Hey, Princess, you look younger than the last time we face-timed," He kisses her cheeks.

Nicholas immediately snapped his head toward Ezra the moment he heard his voice.

So the traitor was here, too? He had been the one to feed Sebastian their location after getting from Nana; they had forgotten that he got Nana a new phone as they were planning to travel. He had a lot of things to ask him, and he hoped Ezra had all the answers.

"Zeno, what are you doing?" Nana asked again, pushing Zeno slightly to leave the door as he had locked it again.

Zeno sighed, "Nana, you don't have to mind the last person, we don't know who he is," He said as he watched Nana open the door.

"Hello, young man, please, come in," Nana smiles at Sebastian and invites him in.

"Hi, Nana, I'm Sebastian," He kissed the back of her hand as he walked into the house.

"Aww, would you look at this charming young man, Nieto, I wish I had a granddaughter for you," She touched Sebastian's arm, admiring him.

Zeno scoffed.

"I'm flattered, Nana, thank you," 'But your grandson would do,' he thought quietly, glancing at Zeno, who was largest walking back to the dining.

"Please, come, the food is still hot," She invited.

Sebastian nodded, "I'd be delighted to eat your food, Nana," he replied and let her hold his hand and lead him toward the dining.
