Chapter 270

Andre sat at a table beside the arched window in the restaurant, chewing his food slowly as he stared out of the window, watching the people walking around the beach under the soft morning sun.

"You're really not going to feed me?" Cross asked in front of him, tapping his hand on the table to get Andre's attention.

Andre sighed, "I'm going to the casino in a few minutes. You can do whatever you want after eating." He said, dismissing Cross's request.

Cross frowned, "I'll go with you." He said, blinking slowly.

Andre slowly shook his head, "I need to concentrate." Opened his bottle of water and drank from it.

"I'll behave, I promise. Look how I behaved last night, I only slept, didn't try to touch or seduce you. I'm turning a new leaf, Andre. I just want to be close to you, I won't try shit... please?" He begged in a lowered voice.

Andre sighed, drumming his finger on the table, and stared quietly at Cross's face. He wondered if it was really wide enough to get together with his boss's cousin.

What was their future going to be like? If he should actually get back with Cross, could he take care of him? Give him the life he deserved?

Would Croas be content staying with a man like him? A man with an unknown background?

Or, should he just let their bond sever from here?

He had let someone Cross's words get to him; yes, they were said in anger, but still, he knew they were the bitter truth.

He didn't deserve Cross, and the difference in their status was so jarring. There was no way Cross's parents would welcome him when they learned that their son wanted to be together with a bodyguard, a bodyguard with some dark, twisted past.

"Andre?" Cross reached over the table and placed his hand over Andre's, "What are you thinking about?" He questioned softly, his eyes searching Andre's face.

He was panicking within himself. He had an idea of what Andre might need to think about. From the way Andre looked at him, he could tell that Andre was contemplating their relationship.

He cursed his mouth a million times for saying those horrible things to Andrd, he should have just been a little more understanding, a little more quiet.

"Nothing," Andre sighed, pulling his hand away from Cross's hand.

"Hurry and eat your food. I need to leave," He said and turned to continue staring out of the arched window.

Cross bit his lip and silently ate his food.

He could feel the change between them, Andre was drifting, and he was drifting fast. He needed to do something to re-ignite that fire between them. Andre had to realise that they were meant for each other. Separating is never an option. Never.

Footsteps and light chatter approached their table, and they both turned their heads to the entrance. The other guys trooped in for their breakfast as well, heading toward them.

Cross sighed, 'There goes our quiet time.' He thought quietly.

"Hey, guys, morning," Thomas greeted, pulling a chair beside Cross.

"Hey," Andre greeted, sipping his water.

He looked over at Pole, who was giving him a questioning look, "What do you want to say?" He asked.

"He was just wondering if you guys are going to end up like Cody and -"

"Shut it, Jeremiah. Don't start trouble," Cody pointed at Jeremiah with narrowed eyes.

"True, chill, baby," Jasper said, smirking at Jeremiah.

Cross sighed loudly, "You guys are so loud and overbearing.' He stood from the table and walked over to Andre, placing his hand on his shoulder. "I wonder how my cousin managed to survive with noisy bees every day." He scoffed but suddenly stiffened when he felt Andre looking up at him.

"No, I don't mean you're a bee. I didn't call them a bee either. I was just..." he sighed, "I'm sorry, guys, I didn't mean to be rude. Just mind your business, okay?" He said and lowered his eyes, "I apologised." He murmured.

"Aww, Cross? Apologising? There's nothing a good dick can't fix," Pole chuckled.

"Then maybe you should find yourself one and stop nosing around people's affairs," Cross replied in a sharp tone.

"He's got a point. Leon seems like he's offering that dick to you," Jeremiah said, smirking.

"Are you crazy? Leon?" Pole snapped his head at Jeremiah, glaring at him.

"Just saying," Jeremiah shrugged.

"Enjoy the rest of your day, guys. I'll be leaving," Andre said and stood, pushing the chair back under the table.

But before he could step forward, Thomas gasped and stood from his chair, "Ida!" He ran like an excited kid toward the man walking toward them.

"Damn, he looks finer," Pole muttered, glancing at Cody, who looked like he'd been cast a freezing spell.

Cody stood frozen, heart pounding so hard against his ribcage that he thought his chest was about to burst.

He felt his hand tremble and sweat as he glanced at Ida.

A month has passed, and he believed his feelings had passed as well, but turns out he was wrong. He still felt those butterflies in his stomach, and this time, they were stronger.

However, if time and distance had taught him anything, it would be control over his emotions. Just like Ida had advised before leaving, he had learned how to live for himself, and he learnt the fine line between obsession and love.

He wasn't going to make the same mistake of dumping his feelings on Ida. He wasn't even going to act on them.

Ida had asked for a breakup, he would respect that and try to be just as normal as everyone. In life, people don't often get all they want, they just have to leave with it and accept their fate.

Cody had accepted that he and Ida were never going to be together like in the beginning, and it was fine.

"Welcome back, brother," Pole shook Ida's hand, smiling.

"Thank you, Pole," Ida replied, his eyes momentarily glancing at Cody beside Pole.

"Welcome back," Cody said, offering his hand for a shake like every other person had done, it would be weird if he didn't.

Ida shook, Cody's hand, a gentle grip that sent an invisible wave of attraction between the two men.
