Chapter 257
Andre sighed, "Trust me, Cody. I don't remember doing shit with Tony. I know I've been looking at him the whole week. But, right now, I need to go to Cross, I'll settle this mystery with Tony once I'm sure Cross and I are fine. You have to trust me," he said, placing his hand on Cody's shoulder.
Cody stared at Andre's face for a while, "I hope you're right, Andre. You'd be a dick if all this turns out to be true and you've just been playing us all along." He said.
Andre shook his head, "Trust me." He said and hurried away from Cody.
Cody wished Andre well, but he hoped that Andre was really telling the truth about Tony.
Back at the table, Pole met Leon sitting quietly, alone and lost in his thoughts.
"Don't tell me you're still thinking of Andre even after I told you he's going through a heartbreak," Pole said, drawing a chair close to Leon.
Leon turned his face to Pole, staring at Pole's suspicious face.
"I'm just worried as a friend. You already made me understand that he's into someone else. I just hope he's okay," Leon said in a quiet voice.
Pole hummed, not believing Leon, "Yeah... It's hard to believe. You keep showing up here every morning because Andre's always here to sit under the tree." He pointed out.
Leon chuckled, "You might be wrong..." he paused and let his eyes roam Pole's face, "Maybe I'm here to watch someone else... maybe..." His voice conveyed a hint of hidden suggestion.
Pole scoffed, "Yeah, you? Give up on Andre? Even if you did, you can't tell me you've fallen for someone so quickly. Who is it?" He folded his arms and leaned closer to peer at Leon's face.
Leon smiled, "Not telling. I'm approaching this person with a different method. Since confessing my feelings directly never worked, not with Zeno, not with Andre." He said.
"Did you really love them, Leon? Or was it just an attraction? Maybe you liked how they looked? You never really got to spend time with any of them to get to know them," Pole asked, turning serious.
"Maybe... maybe not. That's why I'm approaching this person with a new method. Getting to spend time with him, know him," Leon replied lowly.
Pole slowly nodded his head, "Now this sounds like someone you're serious about." He said and relaxed into his chair.
"You bet," Leon said and stood, "Hungry?" He asked.
Pole nodded, "Heading in?"
"Nah, just want to ask Cody to call the kitchen. Your usual, right?" Leon raised a gentle brow at Pole.
"Yeah..." he said.
Leon nodded and walked away, heading over to Cody, who was still standing at the same spot.
Behind him, Pole slowly leaned his elbows on the table and watched Leon leave. He couldn't help but notice that Leon seemed to have changed, and he wondered if his change had anything to do with the new guy he liked.
He couldn't wait to see who the person was.
"Who could he be?" Pole frowned.
He shook his head, "Not my business, as long as he keeps Leon away from Andre..." he muttered.
"Why am I even speaking to myself?" He groaned and scratched the side of his head.
"Are you okay?" Leon's voice startles Pole.
"Shit, can you at least make a sound?" He glared at Leon.
"I spoke... that's a sound," Leon replied.
Pole rolled his eyes, "No, I meant, make a sound before the main sound." He corrected.
"Don't roll your eyes at me," Leon moved behind Pole's chair and pulled it back, and leaned down, placing his hands on the arms of the chair.
Pole suddenly froze, gulping quietly as he stared up at Leon's face hovering above him.
"W-what are you doing, Leon?" Pole stammered.
Leon's face was unreadable, "You roll your eyes at me next time... I'll kiss you." He said, his voice deep, controlled.
Pole was stumped, he blinked slowly, trying to figure out if he'd heard Leon right or not.
"Are you sick?" Pole questioned.
"How about you roll your eyes and find out," Leon threatened.
Pole sucked his lower lip between his teeth, "Fine, I get it. You don't need to act weird because I rolled my eyes at you. I'm not doing it anymore." He murmured, pushing Leon away by the shoulder.
"Good choice, Pole... for now," He whispered huskily and straightened, stepping back.
"You're still crazy after all," Pole muttered.
"We're eating out, follow me," Leon said, not turning back.
Poke followed him, "Why?" He caught up with Leon, staring at the side of his face.
"They don't have your usual, I know somewhere, just follow," Leon replied.
"Oh, okay..." Pole said, following as instructed.
Still, he wondered why the kitchen suddenly didn't prepare his favourite, they usually did every day.
