Chapter 274
ANDRE'S POV...
I rarely get to speak, but I'm delighted.
As my story has progressed, everyone has seen that I'm stuck between hurt and love.
I love Cross, that's given. Still, I'm scared.
I'm scared I'm not good enough, I'm scared his little infatuation with me will end soon, and he'll disappear in search of someone new.
My mind has been racing since Cross mentioned meeting me two years ago. That information changes everything.
It meant that Cross's appearance in my life wasn't by accident or coincidence... it was intentional. He wanted me at first glance, and he came for me.
The thought drove me crazy, it made my heart fall harder for my Cross, and I wasn't ready to stop it. He'd loved me in silence for two years, watching from a distance, and aching.
I feel so bad as I recall how unbuttered I had lived my life for those two years while he suffered in the dark. I could have loved him for two years, but since I missed him, I'll spend the future loving him right back because he deserves every bit of my love.
A soft sigh left my lips as I stared at Cross walking in front of me. He looked so breathtaking under the sunset, and I meant literally because I forgot how to breathe for a second as I gazed at the young man, who had walked into my life and raided my poor heart.
I know I should push away my doubts and embrace him, I know he wouldn't wait forever beside me. I needed to make up my mind, and I will. I just needed to confirm a few more things.
When Cross hears about my past, would he still stay?
Also, I needed to make sure Andrew wasn't going to cause any more trouble for me. I can't bring Cross into my messy life; I needed to be perfect... for him.
Because he's perfect.
___
"So?" Andre glanced at Cross beside him as they walked the beach, the sun setting in front of them.
Cross hesitated before he laced his fingers with Andre, moving closer so their sides touched as they walked.
Andre looked down at their joined fingers and said nothing, just walking on the beach and watching the sun set.
He was following Cross's lead, walking past the resort building and approaching the back of the building.
Cross sighed and paused, gazing up at Andre's face, "We're here." He said, pointing Andre to the back of the building.
Andre only glanced briefly at the place before returning his unreadable gaze to Cross.
Cross looked disappointed, "We're here... where you first met me... did you forget?" He murmured.
Andre sighed quietly, his eyes seeming lost for a second, "How can I forget, Cross? You made me wet on first contact." He grinned slowly, watching the gradual fire grow in Cross's eyes.
"I did?" Cross's voice turned sultry, his body leaning toward Andre's.
Andre nodded casually, "Yes. You got my suit wet with your wine and refused to apologise." He smirked.
Cross's face fell, "Oh... that?" He muttered, disappointed.
"Yeah, that. What were you thinking?" Andre questioned, tilting Cross's lowered face up.
Cross bit his lower lip, and gently removed his hand from Andre's, folding it on his chest.
"I hid behind Sebastian," Cross murmured, looking away.
Andre raises a brow and steps closer, cupping Cross's chin, "What was that, baby boy? You've got to be audible if you want me to hear you. Talk to me." He said softly, his thumb grazing Cross's chin as he gazed into his silver eyes.
Cross licked his dry lips, "I hid behind Sebastian, two years ago, in Japan." He repeated, more audibly.
Andre smiled ever so slightly, "You did?" He asked.
Cross nodded, "I saw you approaching and instantly list all senses... I stopped functioning and I knew that if I spoke to you at that moment, I'd leave an impression. You would've thought I was some crazy disabled stammer who snuck into the gala. So I hid." He narrated.
Andre chuckled, a low, sexy rumble on his chest. The sky was darkening and the wind was slowly picking up, cold and sharp, blowing their hair around.
"I wouldn't. I would never have thought that you were crazy, or disabled. A stammer? Maybe, given you would have swallowed your tongue if you tried speaking to me," Andre smirked, loving the adorable look he saw on Cross's face.
Cross blushed, "Probably... but you're saying this now because we've –"
"Not true. I'm not saying this because I've come to know you. I'm not saying it because I've grown to love you. I would never have called you crazy." Andre assured tenderly.
"Why?" Was Cross's simple question.
Andre smiled, "Because I should have thought you were crazy or hated you the first time I met you right here, but I didn't..." he trailed off, watching the way Cross's eyes swirled.
"Instead?" Cross questioned quietly, taking Andre's hand from his chin and simply holding it.
Andre inhaled shakily, "Instead I was smitten, Cross. Although there was a little confusion and denial, I was smitten." He confessed.
Cross pursed his lips and took a step back, nodding his head, "You came to brief Sebastian about some Bison guy, you mentioned tracing him to a tattoo but I wasn't really paying attention to the details. I was paying attention to you." He covered his face with his hand for the briefest seconds and groaned in embarrassment before lifting his serious face to Andre.
"Cute," Andre murmured, smiling.
"My point is, after seeing you, you made me forget the flimsy crush I had on Kenji, Sakura's brother," He took a deep breath, "Damn, you were hot in that tight black shirt." Criss bit his lip, blushing so brightly.
"You let me walk away from you...What if we never met again?" Andre's chest tightened at the thought of never meeting Cross; he would have missed the best thing in his life.
Cross slowly started to walk back to Andre, his hands in his pockets, "No. I asked Sebastian for your contact but he refused, saying I'd be a distraction to his bodyguard, but he promised to introduce us when he'd taken care of that Bison guy." He said, lowering himself on the sand.
Andre stood, unmoving, just staring at Cross and imagining how he might have felt not being able to be with the person he longed for.
He'd go crazy if the tables were turned and someone tried to keep away from Cross for some reason. He wouldn't wait two years, he would have died waiting. He would have broken every rule to find Cross.
What if he fell in love with someone else while he waited?
"For two years, I stored your pictures like artefact collections, stalking your inactive socials," Cross confessed, his tone and voice becoming vulnerable as he revealed his secret.
Andre was beside Cross in the next moment, his hand landing on his thigh, "I'd understand my social, but my pictures?" He grew curious, "How did you get them?" He asked.
Cross shrugged, My cousin sent them twice a week. That was the only thing that stopped me from flying down to New York and creeping you out with my love -"
"Maybe I was wrong, maybe you're crazy..." Andre's hand found the back of Cross's head and pressed their foreheads together, "You're really crazy." He murmured and claimed Cross's lips in a hungry kiss.
He couldn't act cool anymore, hearing Cross tell his tale of longing, he wanted to assure Cross, to let him know that the man he had yearned for for two years was finally his and only his.
Cross tugged on Andre's shirt, a gentle pull that had Andre's lips pressing harder against his.
He kissed Andre back with the same hunger, tongues sliding over the others in a wet battle, lips moulding in a perfect sync of a sinful dance.
Cross pulled away, breathless, his forehead still resting against Andre's, "I needed that." He panted.
Andre smirked slowly, "Me, too." He whispered, caressing Cross's jaws.
Cross drew away and inhaled the cool air into his lungs, "I came to Sebastian and Zeno's wedding because of you. I was glad I was finally going to meet you. I waited for the perfect time to introduce myself, and when I saw you leaving the loud wedding, I followed you." He continued.
Andre suddenly formed a picture in his head, "You bumped into me on purpose?" He chuckled.
Cross smiled, "Well, yeah." He shrugged.
"I wanted to talk to you, but when I reached here, I heard Leon confessing his boring feelings to you. I thought I lost you to him, but then you rejected him, and my hope returned." He scratched the back of his head, a shy act.
"I waited for him to leave, and the moment I saw you walking out, my nerves got the best of me and the other thing I could think of doing to get your unforgettable attention was to bump into you..." he frowned and glared at Andre.
"But you punched me. Do you know how hurt I was to get punched by a guy you've loved in secret?" He muttered his question, pouting.
"Well, you were... I'm sorry," Andre wanted to remind him of how stubborn and annoying he was but he looked past that and saw the disappointed, hurting man Criss had been back then.
Getting hit by your crush must be the worst feeling in the world.
Cross sucked his bottom lip into his mouth, "I'll only accept a certain kind of apology." He suggestively lowered his gaze on Andre.
Andre felt hot.
Why not? He didn't mind apologising to Cross just the way he wanted it.
He placed a hand on Cross's shoulder and lowered his back onto the sand.
"Out here?" Cross murmured, his eyes darkening.
"Out here," Andre's hand found their way into Cross's shirt, gripping his waist possessively.
Cross hummed softly, and wrapped his arms around Andre's neck, "I don't mind." He whispered into Andre's ear.
Andre was about to kiss Cross, but he suddenly stopped and lifted himself to his feet, "It's going to rain. Let's get in, then we can talk more about that crush on Kenji," he murmured and turned away.
___
ANDRE'S POV...
Bummer, I know.
But, hey, I'm a possessive man in love. I needed to know that Cross was really done with Kenji.
It has to be me, me, and only me.
Don't worry, you all will get 'that' scene soon.
See you in the next update.
