Chapter 207
The next morning, Cody was speaking with Andre when Ida approached them in front of the mansion.
The moment Cody saw him, he stopped speaking and smiling.
"Good morning, Andre and Cody," Ida greeted, standing close to Andrea.
Last night, Cody had sent him away after he took him to Julia, asking him to give him some space.
So, that morning, Ida was giving him just the space he needed.
"What's up, man? You missed Zeno's parents; I was just telling Cody about my adventure last night with the boss and Zeno's parents," Andre said.
Ida glanced at Cody, "Yeah, well, I spoke with Zeno last night, I know everything," he replied.
"But did you know Cody was aware that Zeno was back together with the boss?" Andre chuckled.
Ida looked Cody directly in the eyes, "Yeah, that's because when two people really love each other, they can't stay away from themselves, no matter the cause or the situation, they always forgive," He said.
Cody scoffed, looking away.
Andre looked from Ida to Cody and smirked to himself, "Yeah, that's true. That's why that guy couldn't take his eyes off you last week at Nicholas' club even after you continuously rejected him; you even punched his face; what could that be if not love?" Andrea put his arm over Ida's shoulder.
"Play along," He whispered.
Ida blinked, frowning, but when he saw Cody's curious eyes on him, he understood what Andre was trying to do.
"You mean James? Yeah, he's a sweet guy, but he's not my type; I told him I already have someone I love," Ida replied.
Andre gasped, "Oh, you did? But I don't see you with anyone, who's the person you love? It's sure not Cody because he made everyone know that he'd never get back with you, or are you seeing someone secretly?" He narrowed his eyes at Ida.
Ida pushed Andre's arm off of his shoulder, "Get lost, I'm not seeing anyone," he glanced at Cody.
"Mind your business, Andre," Cody didn't look happy, he busied himself on his phone, pretending to be doing something important.
"Oh, but I was just saying, Cody, it's not like you still love him, right? That would be crazy, you clearly said-"
"I know what I said, okay? You don't have to remind me," Cody snapped at Andrea and walked away.
Andre smirked at Ida, "What do you think?" He asked.
"I think we pissed him off," Ida stared at Cody's retreating figure.
Andre nodded, "That's the point, Ida. It means he still cares, he still loves you. His anger is coined from jealousy; he can't stand the idea of you loving someone else; I say you go to him one last time; trust me, You'll thank me later," He patted Ida's shoulder and left.
Ida stood still, staring at the spot Cody had been standing.
'Could Andre be right?'He wondered.
There was only one way to find out.
He moved, heading straight for Cody's room.
Cody was sitting on his bed when he heard a knock on his door; he thought I was Andre, so he moved with anger and opened his door, "What the fuck do you want, A -Ida?" His voice lowered the moment he saw Cody.
Ida nodded, "Can I come in?" He asked, hilfing Cody's gaze.
"What do you want? You can just tell me right now," Cody replied, not moving away from the door.
Ida didn't speak; he stared at Cody's face, missing the smile that used to be there, a smile that was only his; now he couldn't see it anymore; only a cold, unfeeling face was staring right back at him.
"I want to talk with you, Cody; I promise this will be the last time I disturb you with my heartbreak; if you really insist after our talk, then I have no choice but to leave you alone," Ida smiled a sad smile.
Cody ran his eyes over Ida's face; for the first time, he realized that Ida was really hurting; he'd never seen his face so... unhappy. Even though he smiled, it didn't reach his eyes.
"Come in," Cody said and walked into the room.
Ida didn't hesitate, he followed him in and locked the door, Andre's voice echoing in his head. He hoped Andre was right, he couldn't go on this way anymore, it was hard for him.
Cody sat on the bed and stared at Ida who stood in front of him, "So, what do you want to say?" He questioned, crossing his legs.
Ida sighed, "I love you, Cody. I didn't do it, I had no business with that girl... I guess that's all I have to say, no... I also want you back, Cody; I want you as my boyfriend again; I promise to be careful this time; I can even stop going to clubs if you want me to," He assured, gazing helplessly at Cody.
"Then what's gonna happen to James, your new lover, wouldn't he get heartbroken? " Cody asked, his tone haughty.
Cody shook his head, "No, James is... he wouldn't mind, I already told him I love someone else," Ida reminded.
Cody looked away from Ida, "Then go meet the person you love, why are you here?" He asked with a frown.
Ida sighed. "I'm already speaking to him, Cody. Are you really that clueless, or have you actually lost interest in me?" He asked seriously.
"Watch your tone, Ida. You know what? What do you think? Do you think I'd take you back after pushing your dick down someone else's throat?" He stood, glaring at Ida.
Ida took a deep breath and rubbed his temple, he slowly locked his eyes on Cody, "You know, before I thought you just needed some space, but if you're still reacting this way, maybe it's time I respect myself and leave you alone as you asked," He smiled and stepped forward, taking Cody's hand.
"I'm letting you go, Cody; that doesn't mean I've stopped loving you, but I can't keep making you uncomfortable; that's not love; I want to always be comfortable, Cody. It's going to be hard for me to work with you, but I'll try to keep my distance," he raised his hand to Zeno's face and caressed his cheek.
"Damn, this is hard," He muttered and kissed Cody, pulling him in.
Even if he was letting Cody go, he couldn't leave without one last kiss. He simply couldn't come to terms that he was not going to have Cody as his again.
He thought he would get a knead in the ball, a push, or even a slap, but he got none. Instead, he was shocked to feel Cody's lips moving against his.
He paused and pulled his face away, staring at Cody's in shock.
Cody licked his lips, "What?" He asked nonchalantly.
Ida blinked, "You... you kissed me," he said.
"So? What about it? Didn't you want to kiss me one last time? I had to make it memorable for you,"
"That was it?" Ida furrowed his brows.
"What else?" Cody smiled.
Cody hooked his arm around Ida's neck, "Since you've decided to let me go, I don't mind letting you tap it for the last time, too, for the sake of the good old days," He whispered.
Ida's face fell, "So you do know that we had our good days? But, thanks for the offer, I don't want to have sex with you," Ida stepped away from Cody.
"Don't you dare walk away from me," Cody grabbed Ida's arm, forcing him to look at him.
"What now, Cody? You're making this hard for me. I can't have sex with you, that would only break me later," Ida said.
Cody rolled his eyes, "So you don't love me as you claimed?" He asked.
Ida frowned, "Don't be ridiculous, I will always-"
"Then have sex with me, Ida, prove it," Cody challenged.
Ida smiled, "No. I don't want trials anymore, Cody, we've gone past that. I need something stable if I'm pinning you down in the bed, I'll know it's because we mutually want to please each other and not because you're trying to satisfy your ego by making me see that I can't resist you even when I know you don't love me anymore. This isn't fair to me, Cody, please," He begged.
"You think I no longer love you?" Cody asked.
Ida nodded, "You don't, Cody, and that hurts, I thought you could give me another chance, but you disregarded our past and moved on like I never meant anything to you just because of a little misunderstanding," He removed Cody's hand from his.
"I'm not having sex with you, Cody. I love you, but -"
"Then go, get out, don't fucking show your face in my door, leave my room!" Cody pointed to the door, angry.
Ida felt a sharp, painful piercing in his heart; he clenched his jaw and stared into Cody's eyes; he stared at him for a while before he turned and walked to the door.
His hand touched the handle, and at the same time,, he felt a pull on his shoulder, his back slamming on the door.
"Cody what -" He felt Cody's aggressive lips on his.
His brain shut down, and his body was paralyzed.
Cody wrapped his arms around Ida, "Don't go; I didn't mean those things I said... please... stay," He whispered.
