Chapter 247

Cross stirred, covering his eyes with his hand as the soft sunray shimmered down his face.

He had fallen asleep under a coconut tree after wandering for almost an hour.

He had escaped, running away after confessing his feelings to Andre. He might have done it so effortlessly and carefree, as if he wasn't seated or bothered; but, he was.

He was wallowing in 'what ifs', thinking deeply about how he had acted with Andre.

He had escaped because he knew that Andre wasn't ready to say those words back, but he needed to say them and let Andre know that he was for real.

He was scared, scared that Leon might actually fall for Leon. After all, Leon was more mature, handsome, and a top... "Wait, Andre's not a bottom. I'm his bottom... right?" He scrwhen side of his head and sat up.

"I need to call him," he muttered and fished out his phone from his pocket, his eyes widening as he saw numerous missed calls from Andre.

"Shit, two hours ago. Why the fuck did I sleep that long? Am I a fucking log?" He muttered and scrambled to his feet.

As he hurried back to the beach bar, he kept calling Andre, and this time, Andre didn't answer.

"Come on, babe, pick up," Cross called, curious to know what Andre had called for.

He reached the bar, and, as expected, Andre was nowhere to be found. He must have left hours ago.

"Could he have returned to the room after searching for me for so long?" He muttered, his eyes scanning table after table.

He heard someone approaching behind him and immediately turned with the hope of seeing Andre, but that hope was lost the moment he saw that it was Cody.

"Hey," Cross said, not knowing how to ask Cody for Andre's whereabouts.

Even if he asked, he wasn't so sure Cody would be willing to answer given his past behaviour towards him, and every other person.

Cody saw Cross's hesitation and sighed, "Andre said he's taking Tony to get some shots from the doctor or something like that. The guy was losing his breath." He said to Cross, slowly walking past him.

"Oh..." Cross murmured, jealousy hugging his soul from the inside out.

Whatever was taking Tony's breath away should have taken it for real...

"I'm sure Andre must have left you a message. Did you check?" Cody turned and asked.

"Shit, that's true," Cross muttered and quickly checked his phone.

He had been so lost in thought and worry that he forgot to check for other communication functions in his phone.

He saw Andre's texts from two hours ago, and his face fell.

"He did text me, but it was from two hours ago. I doubt he'd still be waiting in the club," he sighed and let his hands fall to his sides.

Cody placed his hand on Cross's shoulder, "Go check, he might just be there... new love can be quite powerful." He smiled at Cross.

Cross smiled back, "Yeah? Okay." He nodded and walked away.

In a short while, he reached the club.

He walked in, scanning the whole place with his eyes but couldn't find who he was looking for.

He quietly went over to a quiet booth and sat himself down, feeling a bit uncomfortable from Andre's absence.

He called him again, again, and again, but no answer.

"Did I scare him off with my confession? Or I might just be overthinking it. He is just taking Tony to see a doctor, nothing else." He nodded to himself.

Someone walked up to his booth and sat beside him.

He looked up beside him and saw Nicholas looking like he had a rain cloud above his head.

"Sad?" Nicholas asked.

Cross chuckled, "I should be asking you. You look bad." He said, placing his hand on the table.

Nicholas nodded, "Yeah, fuck men." He muttered, clenching his jaws.

Cross frowned, "What happened? And, you know you can't be saying fuck men... you're one, too." He pointed out.

Nicholas scoffed, "Fine. Fuck Ezra. Better?" He asked Cross, frowning deeply.

Cross slowly nodded, "Um.. yeah... But, what did Ezra do?" He questioned, curious.

He didn't think Ezra could ever hurt Nicholas, the man was whipped for his lover... just like he was for Andre.

Cross was startled when he heard the slam on the table. He looked down and saw that Nicholas had slammed his phone in front of him.

"Check this out," Nicholas pointed to his phone.

Cross picked it up, tapping the screen to lighten it up.

However, he never expected the image that popped up on the screen.

Shocked and in disbelief, he stared at a picture of Ezra kissing some woman with his arms around her.

Slowly, he placed the phone faced down on the table, clearing his throat.

"I'm sorry," Cross said, looking at Nicholas's face.

He now understood why the poor guy looked like his life was almost over.

He couldn't understand why Ezra would do that.

Nicholas shook his head, "You don't have to apologise. It's none of your business." He smiled.

"He told me he had some fycking emergency back at the hospital and had to travel to save the patient's life..." he paused and chuckled, "I guess that patient needed some mouth-to-mouth." He said and angrily grabbed his phone from the table.

"Fucking hell, it hurts like hell," Nicholas grunted and placed his head on the table, balling his fists.

Cross was at a loss, not knowing how to console Nicholas.

"I'm sorry," He said, touching Nicholas's hand.

Nicholas raised his head, "Nah, I'm fine. Just take my experience as an example. Don't trust anyone with your heart. They might seem dedicated, loving, and act like their world revolves around you... It's all fake. The moment they see something more flashy or an opportunity that might elevate their status... puff!" He opened his palm in front of Cross.

"They're gone without a thought," Nicholas smiled sadly and stood.

"I'll be returning to my club tonight. If that douche ever comes looking for me, tell him I said fuck him," Nicholas waved at Cross and walked away.
