Chapter 153
At Sebastian's command, Andre was driving the car speedily through the dark roads; Ezra and Nicholas sat in the car with him, each on their anxiousness.
"Sebastian, I still think that this is a bad idea. Bison asked Nicholas to come alone, yet here we are, driving right into his trap. Do you think he isn't aware that we're coming?" Ezra questioned calmly.
Sebastian remained quiet, he was too conflicted to argue.
"Listen, I know everything seems wrong right now, especially with you and your father, but riding yourself into danger is not the best approach to this situation," Exra tried to reason with Sebastian again, but he was met with silence once again.
"Let him be, Ezra. He already had something planned out," Nicholas said, staring blankly out of the window.
Ezra sighed, "Right... hey, how about you? At the end of the day, it's your father we're taking as the enemy, how are you holding up?" He asked Nicholas, who was sitting beside him behind the car.
Nicholas shrugged, "He's not my father; I don't have one. Someone who had tried to kill his own wife and child is not fit to be called father; I disowned him a decade-plus ago; he's dead to me," he said, still looking out of the window.
Ezra slowly nodded; he gently placed his hand on Nicholas' thighs, "You might hate me, Nick, but I'm telling you that you can actually come to me if you're ever lonely; I make a good friend; you can ask Sebastian," He smiled at Nicholas.
Nicholas sighed and removed Ezra's hand from his thigh.
"Stop the car, Andre," Sebastian ordered from the front seat.
"Yes, boss," Andre replied and stopped the car a little distance from huge, black gates.
Ezra frowned, "So? We're just going to -"
"Follow me, Nicholas," Sebastian pushed the door open and got out of the car.
"Of course, we're just going to barge in like we own the place," Ezra muttered and also got out of the car.
"You'll stay in the car, Doc," Sebastian said.
Ezra narrowed his eyes, "Why?"
"One of us has to be ready to drive us away," Sebastian told him.
"Come on," He looked at Nicholas and started walking toward the gate.
He had sent his men, and some of his father's men, to come and surround the place; he also sent a message to Bison and told him that those men weren't a threat; they had just surrounded the hideout to make sure that nothing happens to him as he arrived.
"Sir, Bison's bodyguards willingly left the gate as we arrived; I think he's trying to double-cross you, boss," Ida said to Sebastian as he approached the gates.
"Do you trust him?" Sebastian questioned Ida; the rest of the bodyguards were seriously facing their duty post, ready to fight if the need arose.
"No, boss," Ida answered.
"Then stop complaining," Sebastian glared at Ida.
Ida bowed his head, "I'm sorry, boss," He apologized.
"Call him, Nicholas, and tell him we're ready to give him the pen," Sebastian told his friend.
Nicholas slowly nodded and reluctantly took his phone out.
He was wondering why Sebastian came up with such a stupid plan; what made him think that Bison would easily let him walk away after he had given him the pen? He knew the man who was supposed to be his father, and what he knew about him was that he wasn't to be trusted; he was evil and sinister, and the devil would be left shocked at what his father could do to his fellow humans.
And yet, Sebastian had easily decided to walk in and simply deliver the pen to the monster; this mission was blind to end up in a bad way; something drastic and bad was about to happen, and Nicholas and everyone else could feel it.
"Hello, we have the pen you wanted," Nicholas spoke into the phone when the call was answered.
"Come right in, son," Biosn chuckled and ended the call.
Soon, the electric gate started to roll open, revealing a dark compound. A few uncompleted infrastructures were sitting around the compound, but one tall building sat at the center, and without asking, they knew that that was where Bison and his men were staying.
"Let's go," Sebastian said and waved his hand to his men.
The bodyguards divided themselves in half and followed Sebastian and Nicholas inside.
As they walked toward the building, they couldn't still find any of Bison's men. The whole place was quiet as if it had been abandoned, but they knew better.
They all knew that danger was calmly waiting for them to walk through the door before it attacked them.
They reached the door and just like the gates, it opened on its own, revealing a very dark hall.
"Go in," Sebastian ordered a few men.
The bodyguards immediately troop inside the building, scattering to observe the place for any hiding danger at any corner.
"It's clear, boss," Ida announced.
Sebastian nodded at Nicholas and they walked in together.
The moment they walked in, the lights came on in the empty hall, shining very bright and almost blinding to the eyes.
Sebastian squinted his eyes, taking in the surroundings. The whole place looked like it was being renovated for some kind of laboratory, and he knew why.
Bison wants to turn the place into his laboratory where he could easily do his dirty business of harvesting human brains illegally.
They suddenly heard the sound of metal creaking from the right side of the hall; Sebastian turned his face and stared, but he couldn't see anything moving.
Soon, a hushing round was heard as a part of the metal wall slid open to reveal the inside of an elevator.
"What the fuck is he playing at?" Nicholas muttered.
The sound of a speaker trying to connect sounded all around the room, making Sebastian frown and turn his head around in search of the source.
"The ride is for just two people; Sebastian and Nicholas. You have sixty seconds to get to me, or I'll start harvesting my new donor, TikTok... your time starts now," Bison disconnected the speaker with an abrupt click.
"Fuck, move, Nicholas," Sebastian grabbed Nicholas' hand and ran toward the elevator that had started to slowly slide closed.
"Asshole," Nicholas cursed out as he panted heavily inside the metal elevator.
Sebastian was quiet, but his face spoke volumes; a lot of things were running through his mind, and only he knew that there was no way he was going to come out of this situation happy.
Whether he survived or not, he knew he still had other issues to face. He wished Bison was his only problem, but he wasn't; Bison was just a delay to what was surely going to happen.
"You don't leave my side. Understand?" Sebastian asked, glancing at his friends beside him.
"Yes..." Nicholas replied; he never imagined that meeting his father again would be this threatening; he hated that man so much that if he had his way, he'd kill him by himself.
The elevator soon came to a stop, and the hissing sound was heard once again as the door opened.
Sebastian was the first to walk out, and he was starting to wonder if darkness was one of Bison's methods of torture or some sort of weird hobby.
"We're here, Bison; you can turn on your lights now," Sebastian said, putting his hands inside his pocket.
Nicholas stood beside Sebastian, his heart slowly starting to beat faster than usual.
Nobody replied; the place was gravely quiet and they could only hear the sounds of their controlled breathing.
Sebastian was about to say something else when he felt a hand on his shoulder, and he knew that the hand didn't belong to Nicholas.
"Welcome, Sebastian," Bison's voice sounded behind them, startling Nicholas.
Sebastian gritted his teeth, controlling the strong urge to punch Bison.
"Turn on the lights," Bison commanded.
The lights came up, and the first thing that first thing Sebastian saw was Zeno's unconscious body hanging upside down from a chain connected to the roof.
His fists balled his fists inside his pockets, anger filling his chest, he saw how Zeno looked so beaten up and tired, but in the end, he couldn't go to save him.
Armed men marched out from the corners, facing them with arms, pointing it right at them.
"Welcome, son," Bison held Nicholas' hand and stepped in front of him, smiling.
"You've grown, and oh, you have your mother's eyes," Bison smiled, his hand raising to touch Nicholas' cheek.
"Get your fucking hands off me," Nicholas slapped Bison's hand away.
Sebastian immediately held Nicholas' shoulder, giving him a warning look.
"Control yourself, Nicholas," Sebastian warned quietly.
Bison chuckled, rubbing his wrist that was slapped by Nicholas.
"You know... I'm glad I left you; I wouldn't have wanted a son like you and would have probably killed you the moment you came out of the fucking closet, but it's not too late; I can still do that today. My blood runs in your veins, Nicholas, and I will never let anyone who I sired to guck his fellow man kneel, Nicholas," Bison commanded, suddenly pointing a gun at Nicholas.
"Bison -"
"Quiet!" Bison turned the gun to Sebastian.
"I'm not your father, but I'll help the world by ridding it of faggots like you three, after collecting the pen from you, of course," His eyes were filled with evil glint as he spoke to Sebastian.
Sebastian gritted his teeth and went quiet; it wasn't time to speak yet.
"Now, Nicholas, Kneel," Bison ordered.
Sebastian couldn't stand it, he suddenly pulled something out of his, pocket and raised it in front of him.
"How about this?" He asked.
Bison paused and turned to Sebastian, his face lighting up the moment he saw the pen, "Ahh, that's right...the most important object of the night; I could always kill you both later," He went to collect the pen from Sebastian.
Sebastian didn't move his hand, but just when. he was sure that Bioson had his hand on the pen, he smartly stepped forward, knocked Bison's gun off his hand and spun him until his back was pressed on his front.
He twisted Bison's hands behind him with one of his hands and wrapped the other hand around Bison's neck.
Bison's men immediately moved to shoot but Bison stopped them, "Hold your fire, we can tall it out with Mr. Sebastian, right?" Bison asked calmly.
Nicholas immediately bent and picked up the gum that fell from Bison's hand, pointing right at Bison's head, "Or, I can kill you right now, and I don't mind if I die afterwards," Nicholas' words were laced with hatred.
Bison chuckled.
"Wake him up," Bison ordered.
Before Sebastian could understand what was happening, one of Bison's men walked toward Zeno and used a heavy metal pipe to him behind the neck.
