Chapter 263

"Twin?" Cross asked, his voice shaky.

He stepped back from Andre and stared at his face, wiping his tears with his hands, "Stop messing around already, Andre. I meant it when I said we were over. You don't have to tell stupid lies -"

"That's fucking bastard," Andre muttered rubbing the sides of his aching head.

Cross stared at Andre and felt disappointed, "You've surprised me, Andre, I never knew -"

"Enough!" Andre shunned Cross, a frown etched on his face, "Enough, Cross. Just be quiet, I'm trying to figure out what to do with Andrew." He told Cross and went to sit on his holding his head with his hands.

"You don't fucking tell me what to do. And, right now, I call you a fucking liar. You saw the video, there's no fucking difference between you and this your made-up Andrew!" Croas glared at Andre.

"Can you just fucking own up that you messed up?" Cross asked, sighing.

Andre chuckled, "I can't own up to what I never did, Cross. It's a shame you've failed to trust me after I've been this patient with you. Now, I'm not really in a good mood to argue, you can leave while I think of how to handle the trouble that has just arrived." He pointed to the door, feeling very disorganised by Andrew's arrival.

Andrew was trouble.

Cross frowned, "Who do you think you are fucking asking me to leave my cousin's hotel?" He breathed angrily.

Andre stood from the bed, "Nobody. I'm Nobody." He replied and walked toward the door.

"I need some air," Andre said as he walked passed Cross, his face expressionless.

"Fucking liar!" Cross shouted as Andre left the room.

He balled his fists and looked around the room, feeling like trashing something. His eyes went to the gift box on the desk but he immediately looked away from there.

Instead of spoiling objects, he'd rather go and spoil the mood of the person who had spoiled his.

Huffing, he stepped out of the room and followed Andre toward the elevator.

Andre ignored Cross and leaned his back against the elevator as he saw him enter after him.

He closed his eyes and rested the back of his head on the elevator's wall.

"Thank God we're over," Cross muttered, frowning as he saw that Andre wasn't bothering to look at him.

He continued, "A cheater and a liar, I wonder how you stay so calm after being horrible to a person." He said, clenching his fists as Andre still didn't look at him.

"I want nothing to do with you, Andre, or should I say Andrew?" He scoffed.

"I hate you so -"

"Then walk away, Cross. Leave me alone," Andre gently cut in, slowly opening his eyes but not leaning off the elevator's wall.

His tired eyes found Cross's wavering ones.

"If you insist that I cheated on you, the best option would be to walk away and let me be. After all, who talks to their exes?" Andre smiled sadly.

Cross quietened down, the detached tone he heard in Andre's voice suddenly scared him. He'd never seen or heard him so resigned before.

His words dripped with a cold, and unfamiliar ring he'd never heard before.

"But, you didn't walk away. You insult me at the slightest chance you get, you demean me, and you tell me how much you hate me. You hurt me Cross, even after I've confirmed that everything happened because of my twin, still, you hurt me," Andre paused and shut his eyes, letting the act in his heart settle.

"Do you know why it hurt so much, Cross?" Andre locked his eyes with Cross, waiting for him to answer.

Cross gripped his phone tightly, blinking away from Andre's steady eager gaze.

"It's because I loved you, Cross. Your words cut deeper than a knife because your love has made me a vulnerable victim. I'm left unarmoured to your attacks... for the sake of love," He sighed quietly.

"Don't worry, my long talks are not going to end with me asking us to get back together, I already know it's impossible... You say that every second." Andre chuckled, leaning off the wall as they got closer to the floor.

"After all, I've got a twin to settle, trust me, he's more adventurous than you are. So, I won't have time for relationships... even if I wanted to get into a relationship with someone else, Andrew would always find a way to destroy it. I'm always single whenever he's around, he causes more chaos than you can imagine," Andre said, taking a deep breath and lowering his face to the floor.

"I'm tired, Cross," Andre murmured, glancing up at Cross.

"If my apology is all it will take for you to give me a break, then," he abused and loved his eyes with Cross's silver ones, "I'm sorry for cheating on you, Cross. You can just forget you met me, please. My life isn't so smooth like yours at the moment, I've got some family matters to sort out," He said as the elevator pinged, the door opening in front of them.

Cross, had been quiet and hurting as he listened to Andre's words. Somehow, Andre's admission and apology felt wrong to him. He didn't feel better with them, he felt guilty instead, like a judge who knew he had wrongly sentenced a person.

"You're dead to me!" Cross spat and shrugged past Andre who was about to leave the elevator.

Andre froze and stared at Cross as he walked away. He sighed, shook his head, and quietly left the elevator.

Andre was leaving in the same direction so he maintained a steady step behind Cross. He didn't want to walk past him to avoid getting shoved or insulted, he'd just follow him behind until they got out and took a different direction.

They were halfway to the exit when Cross's phone rang. Andre watched him answer the call, but they both froze in the track when they heard Pole's frantic voice.

"Cross, can you hurry up?! Andre just fell unconscious while fighting with a customer! Hurry, I called an ambulance!" Pole was literally screaming through the phone.

"Shit!" Andre cursed behind Cross and immediately ran past him, toward the beach bar to see what Pole was talking about.

Cross couldn't move, his head was a roller coaster of thoughts from what he'd just heard. His hand slowly lowered from his ear, his phone loosely held and slipping off.

He gasped and caught his phone when it almost slipped and fell. He still stood at a place, his heart pounding from extreme guilt.

"Andre fell unconscious?" He blinked slowly and glanced behind him, "But Andre was right behind me." He murmured, hot tears falling from his eyes.

"He is really a twin..." His voice shook, his heart shattering painfully as he realised the weight of what he had just done.

Realisation dawned on him.

"I lost him..." he whispered.

He had just lost the best thing that had ever happened to him. And there was no getting Andre back, not after all he'd said and done.

He looked out toward the beach bar and dragged his heavy feet toward it.

'Hell, I fucked up,' he bit the side of his bottom lip as he walked toward the beach bar. It was suddenly hard to breathe as if his lungs were constricting on him.

He quickly fired a message to Zeno, informing him about Andre's twin and asking him to tell Sebastian to help him out with Andre.

He might come off as selfish, but he doesn't mind. He was tying Andre to himself forever.

He went to the beach bar when the ambulance had already left and Andre or Andrew was nowhere to be seen.

Pole, and the other guys stood frozen, staring in the same direction the ambulance had driven off to.

"Where is he?" Cross asked as he stood behind them.

"Which one? Andre, or, Andrew?" Cody asked, facing Cross.

"I don't think he has the right to look for either... am I right, Cross?" Thomas questioned.

"Stop it, Thomas," Jeremiah jabbed his twin's side.

He knew how painful a heartbreak could be and making fun of a person going through one wasn't accepted.

"Go to Crestwood Hospital, you'll find them there. This time, we hope you pick the right guy," Cody tapped Cross's shoulder and walked away.

He, too, knew what it meant to long for someone you can never have. He doesn't really know what has transpired between Andre and Cross, so he couldn't decide if their relationship still had a chance at redemption or if it was done with like Ida and his.

Cross slowly turned away from them and walked toward his car. He had nothing to say to them, their looks told him that they were all on Andre's side. They'd seen him cry, drunk, sad, so they would Al support him.

In their eyes, he was the villain, but they also failed to understand that he was just as heartbroken as Andre. He was also a victim.

After all, hadn't Pole also mistaken Andrew for Andre a few minutes ago?

So he wasn't entirely a villain, he was just a victim of circumstances.

He got in his car and drove straight to Crestwood Hospital, but as he walked into the hospital building, he realised he didn't even know which section to look for them.

He walked up to the nurse behind the counter and showed her a picture of Andre on his phone, "Excuse me, which hospital room is this guy in?" He asked politely.

The nurse glanced at Cross suspiciously, "We don't give out information about our patients, sir. If you were really close to him, I trust he would have told you. I'm sorry, I can't help you with what you've asked." She said and went back to reading the file in front of her.

Cross gritted his teeth, 'What a parrot nurse,' he clenched his jaw in frustration.

"I'm his boyfriend, Ms. Nurse. It was an emergency and I'm sure you know there's little to no time to inform people about details during an emergency. Can you just tell me -"

"Call him, sir. Since he's your boyfriend. We have a lot of liars come up here with the same story," She glanced up at him, expecting him to either walk away or leave.

"Fucking..." Cross muttered under his breath and scanned through his phone and dug up a picture he had secretly taken one morning lying on Andre's bare chest.

"Here, does this look like I'm lying?" Cross moved the phone to the nurse's face, a victorious smirk on his face.

The nurse's face lit up, her ear turning red, "Aww, look at those abs, it must be heaven to have your hands on them -oh?" She looked up at Andre who took the phone away as she slowly tried to hold it.

"Tell me the room number and I'll send the picture to you when I'm leaving," he smirked at her.

The nurse's face lit up, her eyes shining bright as the bulb above her head.

"Just take the hallway behind you, the passage to the right. Room 1." She smiled at him.

Cross deadpanned, he could have just found them if he had even tried searching.

"Right, thanks," He murmured.

"You're welcome, don't forget those pictures!" She waved at a departing Cross.

Cross hurried inside the hallway, moving right towards the passage. His steps slowed as he saw Tony sitting on the bench beside the door. He almost let those memories disturb him again but he told himself that it hadn't been Andre, it was Andrew all this time.

Guilt choked him by the neck. All those things he did and said... "Shit..." he murmured as he slowly approached Tony.

There was no remedy for him, he was never getting Andre back.

Andre might have been ready to forgive him if he hadn't pushed his limits in the elevator. He recalled the resignation in Andre's voice and face as he spoke... it haunted him like a ghost.

"Who are you here for, Andre, or Andrew?" Tony asked Cross the moment he saw him.

Cross frowned, "Isn't it obvious?" He questioned and headed right for the door.

Tony suddenly held Cross's hand before he could open the door.

Cross glanced down at his hand then he glanced at Tony's face, "What do you want?" He asked.

Tony stood so that he faced Cross squarely.

"Just so you know... I never knew he was Andrew, I really did fuck him thinking he was Andre. I thought I was really getting him to leave you... I wanted him for myself," Tony confessed, looking Cross right in the eyes.
