Chapter 108

By the time the sun's strength started to wane, Claire was already in her wedding dress.
Sabrina was there to make sure that the dress was put on right before she returned to take her seat at the pew.
Claire’s hair was gathered up into an intricate hairdo, and ruby trinkets were arranged into her blonde locks making them stand out beautifully.
She held a bouquet of white and red roses, a big smile on her face as she stared at her reflection in the floor-length mirror. Everyone was already in the sunroom waiting for her, even the minister, while her Dad would be right outside the sunroom door to walk her down the aisle, it all seemed like a dream.
To think that she would ever be this happy to be getting married to Lukas… She took one look at herself in the mirror, her eyes dropping to her midriff. It wasn't just her and Lukas anymore, they had a baby now, a baby that was growing inside of her.
With that she turned and headed for the door, making her way across the hallways over to the sunroom.
Her Dad straightened up when she came into view, smiling so wide that his eye crinkled. "You look breathtaking, Sunshine," He whispered, his eyes glassy.
"Thanks, Dad," Claire whispered back, taking her father's offered hand.
The interior of the sunroom was ethereal, whatever dream Lola had in her head, she had realized it perfectly. White hanging curtains with little red roses hung off the ceiling in swathes and the altar was an indoor gazebo of hanging red and white ropes.
Claire looked straight at Lukas as soon as she stepped in, her smile returning when she saw his mouth drop open in shock - she loved him so much it almost hurt.
The ceremony went smoothly, her ring was a delicate ruby band while Lukas' ring was more sturdy. She melted into his arms when it was time for the wedding kiss, feeling like the whole world had stopped at that moment.
After that, the handful of the congregation came over to give out hugs and well wishes, Julia wanting every single moment to be captured in film.
It was still kept a secret from the public for now but by the next morning, the entire city and the rest of the country would know that not only had their royalty gotten married but they would also be expecting a child. It was sure to send the entire countryside and beyond into a frenzy, it was quite a big deal.
After lots of picture taking, Claire was urged to throw her bouquet, everyone gathering behind her to catch it, even Lukas was dragged into it.
The bouquet ended up falling right into Alec's arms which was pretty much a miracle considering that he had been the only one not trying to catch it.
It was only keeping up with the practice of weddings so no one took it seriously and Alec being the one to get the bouquet sent everyone into bouts of laughter.
Alec just quietly placed the bouquet on a pew after taking out a single white rose. And later, after hundreds of pictures were taken and they were finally filing out of the sunroom to the dining room for the dinner that Julia and Senite had helped prepared, Alec took the single rose and caught Rosie's wrist to slow her down.
Rosie turned around in surprise, not expecting it. "Oh, Alec, is something wrong?" She asked, looking up at him.
They were the only two left in the sunroom now, and the final rays of sunlight were starting to disappear.
Rosie’s question died off when Alec tucked the single white rose into her fiery red curls, her almond eyes wide. Then she smiled, "Thank you, come on, we don't want to be late to the dinner table." She said in a rush, taking his wrist and heading out of the sunroom.
They caught up to the others before they made it to the dining room, the newly wedded couple at the center of the group. Lukas kept a possessive arm around his mate, Claire practically glowing from happiness.
At dinner, there was more than enough food for everyone. Sabrina had been convinced to stay behind for dinner by Claire and the socialite couldn't deny her friend anything, so she was currently in a heated conversation with Julia about color combination.
The meal was filled with laughter and happy conversation, the night growing darker outside the lighted mansion. The moon glowed like the sun, like it shared in the happiness that bubbled to the brim in the magnificent house beneath it.
"You've got to go on a honeymoon vacation," Julia blurted out after a lull in the conversation, sounding very serious.
Claire shared a look with Lukas, she was already pregnant, was there really a reason to go for one still?
"Naturally," Lukas agreed right away, a sucker for her Mom.
Claire could only smile and shake her head, a vacation that included just the two of them didn't sound like a terrible idea. Perhaps a change of environment would help with her morning sickness.
Sabrina and Lola had to leave after dinner so they didn't stay to drink in celebration till late in the night.
Claire was also not allowed to drink, being pregnant, not that she wanted to, she would rather not have anything trigger her nausea if she could help it.
They also left early, leaving the rest to keep up their conversation.
Lukas swept her off her feet and carried her to their bedroom, Claire laughing the entire time at how difficult her voluminous dress made the entire thing. She had to catch and hold onto Lukas' crown when he refused to give up and insisted on carrying her the whole way.
They stumbled into the bedroom, falling into a cloud of tulle and silk. Claire had ended up on Lukas' after their fall so she leaned down to kiss her, her lips still spread in a happy smile.
Lukas helped her out of her dress and she helped him undress as well before they both got into the shower to clean up. Although it was technically their wedding night, they only shared soft chaste kisses, touching each other gently like they were finding themselves for the very first time.
They retired to bed, and even though they should be very tired, they ended up talking late into the night.
There wasn't a lot of sleeping done that night for anyone, a celebration was equally thrown for the workers of the mansion to celebrate the marriage of the Alpha King and Luna Queen which didn't end until late in the night.
But it didn't end there, they still had to clean up before the morning. Fortunately, they were given the next day off so they could afford to do that.
Senite remained behind to oversee the clean up while Julia and Matt retired to their bedroom after commenting that perhaps they shouldn't have drunk so much.
Rosie had kept the white rose in her hair all through dinner, if anyone had noticed it, they didn't confront her about it. She had all but forgotten about the rose until she was on her way to her room, only to get stopped by Alec catching her wrist again.
This time she wasn't caught off guard, instead, she turned around with a smile. "I thought you had already gone to bed."
Alec just pulled her into a hug, "Spend the night with me?" He offered, holding her tight.
"Of course-" She agreed, pausing when Alec took the rose out of her hair.
"I'll get you one that won't wither," He said in a low voice.
Rosie just hung off his arm as they made their way to his bedroom, she would take anything Alec gave her, she was content with anything Alec would give her, she was content with what they had.
Fated to the Alpha King
