Chapter Eighty-three
The car ride was one of the worst that Claire had ever been in, it was deathly silent and the burly werewolf made sure to point the gun straight at her face throughout the duration of the ride. She learnt that his name was Clay during the car ride and she could decipher that he was their leader.
Clay never spoke directly to her, and having a gun pointed at her constantly made Claire a nervous wreck by the time the cars slowed down to a stop. It was cold and her arms were bare but that wasn't the only reason she was shivering.
Claire had no idea where she could possibly be, it was too dark to really see anything outside and for the longest of times they had driven through nothing but dark and forbidding forests, there wasn't a single residential area in sight.
The cars were parked haphazardly on a cleared lawn, and only when Claire was dragged out of the car did she see the abandoned shed that she was being led into. Surprisingly, the building was well kept both outside and inside.
It was far larger that an average shed and looked more to be on the size of a cottage. She was led in by Clay, the rest of the werewolves scattering around the shed.
*'Did they intend to set up an ambush for Lukas?'* For the first time, Claire was wary of him coming. Their relationship might be rocky but she didn't want him getting hurt, she feared that it would hurt her as well.
The shed was spacious and was surprisingly not partitioned, it was almost like a wooden warehouse. It was empty save for the bulbs over head lighting up the interior and a stack of wooden planks here and there like the shed had just been built.
There's was also sparse furniture, they were randomly scattered around the room like they had been put in as an afterthought.
Claire was cuffed to the a slender pillar that supported a shelf affixed to the wall. She was in a more uncomfortable position this time and was forced to sit on the wooden ground to be comfortable.
Her jade sequined dress billowed around her as she sat as comfortably as she could, one of her hands lifted above her head as it was cuffed to the wall. The slit in her dress bared one of her legs which only served to make her colder as there were no windows in the shed, just holes in the walls were windows hadn't been set up yet.
Claire let her head hang down as she leaned against the wooden wall, her blonde curls falling over her back and arms. She was exhausted and scared, she was uncomfortable and cold. Once again, she found herself wishing for the simple life she had with her parents.
She was left all alone again in the huge empty shed in the middle of the forest much like she had been abandoned in the basement of the previous house. Being left alone impacted her more than being surrounded with gun toting men did.
Especially this time because she feared that she would be forgotten her and no one would come to get her. It made tears prick at the corners of her tired eyes but she forced them back. She couldn't cry, not yet, not until she was safe.
She listened intently for other people but it had gone dead silent, she might as well be all alone. But she instinctively knew that the men that had brought her here were still around, they had probably hidden in the forest surrounding the shed, waiting for the right moment to attack.
Claire had a feeling that they would all be spending a lot of time playing hide and seek because Lukas wouldn't be coming for her.

The hours crawled slowly by in Lukas' office. Although the three men sat around a table a few metres away from each other, none of them made an effort to hold a conversation.
Time crawled on until Rosie woke up and sat upright, shucking the blankets around her shoulders closer. She had a resolute expression on her face like she couldn't be sent off to her room so no one bothered to try to convince her.
What they were all waiting for was for the fax machine to go off again, and the room was so quiet that Rosie jumped when it started beeping, startled by it.
Lukas just fluidly rose to his feet, waiting for this very moment for hours. He stood menacingly in front of the docile machine which was methodically printing out the document.
When it was done, he quickly snatched it from the machine, scanning through the paper with an unreadable expression.
Alec had also gotten to his feet and was waiting patiently for Lukas to digest the information before he would be handed the piece of paper.
To his surprise, Lukas held onto the document after reading it, his grip unyielding. "They want me to come alone." He said shortly.
A play of emotions ran across Alec's handsome face before he cursed darkly, "Those bastards, you were their goal after all." He muttered.
Killian was surprisingly quiet during this interaction, usually by now he would have interrupted them multiple times. He seemed to have calmed down somewhat and only seemed to be around just to make sure that Claire was still alive.
Lukas deliberately handed the document to Alec, pining his Viceroy with a depthless look in his dark eyes. "I'll be going alone." He enunciated.
Alec pressed his lips into a grim thin line. "I'm afraid I can't allow that, Your Highness."
"Good thing I wasn't suggesting it, it is an order." Lukas jabbed a finger at Alec. "You can follow after me but only after an hour, no sooner than that." He said tightly, already heading for the door of his office.
Alec quickly stepped in his path, the first time he would be going against Lukas' orders. "You don't possibly plan to walk into a trap? This is exactly what they want!" He said helplessly, trying to get Lukas to see sense.
Although from the steel look in the Alpha King’s eyes, he already knew it was futile.
"They have my mate, Alec, of course I'm going to walk right into their trap." Lukas said in a steady voice, brushing past him.
